What is your favorite part of your rig?

I just pulled the trigger on an fp/Sigma 24-70 and am going to rig it up. You really just can not find the smallrig cages for these things anymore though. I ended up ordering one of the 8Sinn cages for it just so that I have some more attachment points. Went with smallrig pretty much everything else, left hand handle, top handle, V mount batteries, etc. Got a Blackmagic Video Assist for jobs when I don't want to work out of RAW. (I edit in Davinci). Excited to break the camera in next week!

Nice video, very insightful and helpful as im finally about to pull the trigger on an Fp! Just wondering how are you controlling the camera remotely? You touched on this briefly when you mentioned the atmos, and advise would be appreciated, a lot of the work i do requires me to not be directly behind the camera at times

Yeah so if you pick up an atomos recorder and the connect module you can control the atomos remotely. There is no video feed, but that can be solved with a wireless transmitter. Now because you are not controlling the camera directly, you won’t be able to change any camera settings like ISO, Aperture or things like that. But it will allow for you to start and stop recording, and use atomos specific controls through the atom remote app

Greetings! The Poerig D Tap cable and dummy battery- we the specs in thelinked page shows theoutput voltage as 7.2 to 8.4 V. The sigma fp battery has an out put of 7.2 v. Will the excess voltage fry or burn the camera PCB? Did you experience any such problem? Your suggestion/advice is higly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am curious about this as well, as I've heard of multiple people trying to run the Sigma dummy battery to both V-mount and NP-F battery plates and frying the camera's board. And I recently tried to run the dummy battery to an NP-F plate by customizing the cable and I believe it did exactly that. (sending back to Sigma manufacturer, tbd on what they say). Seems a real shame since the only internal battery option for the simga fp has such a short life when shooting video. @@venkitachalamrenganathan5440

Are you feeding the fp Cinema DNG RAW footage to the Ninja and obtaining ProRes RAW on the monitor?

Pretty sweat setup. I’ve been juggling what full setup I want, but I’m still trying to figure out how to fix other problems I’m facing. Do you have a video on how to correct 5 second recording? My fp stops after 5 minutes and I can’t get it to change. Any info would be greatly appreciated

What SSD are you using? And is it the stock cable? This happens to me sometimes and I’ve found that disconnecting the cable, flipping it around, and reconnecting helps. The Samsung t5 work the best but I’ve always had issues with sandisk cables

Hey, this is great. I’ve been following you for sometime now and I purchased a Sigma FP on your recommendation. It’s a great camera. I recently got a small HDMI monitor and I cannot figure out how to make the information displayed when I push the OS button onto the monitor it displays on the camera monitor but not my HDMI monitor. How can I go about doing this, thank you you could DM me or answer here I would greatly appreciate it. Keep up the good work.

Hi! I think the easiest way to point you to the right direction is if you check out this video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6iTYnSGYs-ohrMsi=zw_C022GA0BaFOVv At 1:33 is the screen for HDMI output. Where I’ve selected raw 4k DCI. If you select that option and change it back to monitor output (or something like that, basically change it FROM raw) there should be an option from there to drill down into HDMI output, from there should be an option to choose “with info” or “without info” - I think you might have without info chosen. Try changing that and if it’s not clear or doesn’t work, hit me up on IG. HOPE THAT HELPS!

Hey I just bought myself a t5 Samsung SSD for my Sigma fp but when I try to Film im Cinema dng and 12 bit my video Shows after 1 second a ⌛ stops what could it be?

Are you using the cable that came with it? Is it a brand new cable from Samsung?

I wanted to get the Sigma L to PL mount, however it is really pricey for being just a dumb adapter. Meike L to PL adapter with a built in Vari ND seems to be a much better option and you get the Vari ND functionality (a very good filter judging by reviews) behind the lens, which is basically a standard these days

I think cheaper adapters are just fine. At the time I was putting $6k heavy cine lenses and so the materials on the SIGMA were justified. Also you can’t typically shim some of the other cheaper adapters, and so your focus markers are what they are, and you cannot correct it

@@Ansonandco true, however I very rarely (if ever) meet 1st ACs that pay attention to marks on the lens these days, they all just basically look into their monitors and do their own marks on the wireless ff unit

I thought too at first, but I love it. With the grip on the cage and being able to rest the battery against my chest, it creates from decently stable footage. And if I need more I’ll put on a camera strap
