@onetwo-il2qdOne is a rookie’s first game and the other is a 3rd year pro in his second year in the system. Also if you’re box score watching they have similar stats but if you watched both games the offensive scheme and coaching of the Colts are a ton more conducive to a running style QB . I also don’t think Luke Getsy called a single QB run the entire game for Justin in week 1.

@@user-hz4sd1zi9l There are ways to limit those risks. AR gets hurt and the Colts season is over. Sometimes that's not worth a couple extra yards and going down is the better decision. Quick note: #11 is Michael Pittman, Jr. Colts only have 4 WRs on the active roster (Pittman, Pierce, Downs, and McKenzie) and only called up one additional receiver receiver (Winfree) from the Practice Squad for this game. The question would have been whether to play Winfree or Pittman (at 85%). My guess is that Pittman was probably gassed a large chunk of the game.

Interesting last couple plays, One thing you would of seen on the broadcast was Richardson actually discarding his playcalling band before his last two plays on offense. I don't know if there was an equipment malfunction or frustration with the hurry up play calling, but for my money, I think that Richardson was actually calling his own number at the end of the game. That could explain why a tired 11 was just going through the motions, knowing that Richardson was gonna take it himself, still doesn't excuse the effort. They were in Hurry up so there was no chance to sub 11 or get extra big men on the field. Looks like Richardson just said let run all the perimeter guys outside and clear the middle of the field for me to make something happen. Love to see the confidence and passion, but may also be a bit too much Hero Ball which at the NFL level isn't as viable a option even when you are superman like AR
@michaelbrant2060 Жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly AR lost the plays out of his armband, he tried to put it back but couldn’t and threw the plays on the field. He discarded the empty armband the next play, and that was the weird part on the broadcast. Both could be true but an equipment malfunction for sure.

I think that he did really well playing w/in the frame of what Steichen designed for him. It actually surprised me, b/c he's usually much less decisive, and it causes all sorts of havoc along the line and in the backfield. But, it seemed as if they were putting him in a lot of single read situations, where if the throw wasn't there, he checked down. I agree w/ you about how they incorporated the run game, although I will say, even though I LOVE seeing the flexbone in the NFL, I can't imagine that there's a team in the league that really wants to run triple option, if they don't have to. No one wants to draw that up for their QB, but I think that it in this case, they're limited w/ what they can do w/ him right now, so it made sense as an alternative to get him out on the edge w/ the ball in his hands.

@rafsimmz damn near impossible to play worse than Trey Lance. Not a fan of either, but I would rather take a gamble on Richardson. Hopefully, he can improve his accuracy. We all remember Josh Allen had terrible accuracy. He improved it, but now he's back to being inaccurate.

in defense of pittman we don’t really have any subs for him so he’s not coming out the game, he played 97% off the snaps and is heavily involved as a blocker so he doesn’t get much rest during drives and it doesn’t help that pierce was non existent the entire game. but it was a little shocking to see that from him

Pittman is known for going 100% on all reps in practice. He might have been tired and the game was kinda out of reach. Willing to give the benefit of the doubt since he doesn’t come out of the game practically ever. Hopefully it’s not a “playing to stay healthy” in a contract year thing.
