Hey what's up AJ! Good to see the progress on here. I've noticed on some VQs the rust and seize is so bad that I've broke or stripped the stud off the flange before lol such a pain especially when they were never removed 😅

Ya if the fasteners are rusty I can see it being an ordeal.

Good job Anthony. Are you planning on putting a high flow Cat or reuse the Test Pipe?
@AnthonyJ3502 жыл бұрын
I have a high flow cat in the Motordyne XYZ pipe

At 9:50 when the pipes are out their that plate above it do you happen to know if its removable or does it need to be trim off for removal?
@AnthonyJ350 Жыл бұрын
The heat shield? It's removable. I would keep them in though.

@@AnthonyJ350 So I finally left them on, but my only issue as of right now is the car acts stupid when it warms up when the blade in the gauge points in the middle the car starts to vibrates like crazy only in D/R while not moving so I tried using OBD2 scanner no code of anything and try to repeat it over and over and the dealership says its normal charged me checkup fees and didn't solve anything...

I’m curious I bought a set of catalytic converters OEM for 50 bucks with 50,000 miles but bank one secondary substrate. The metallic one moves around quite a bit, will that make a lot of noise if I install it? If so, since that’s a post O2 substrate, can I drill a couple holes in the body and put some set screws into the metallic substrate to at least hold it still, like 1/2” long? I thought it through and can’t come up with any reason why that wouldn’t work since there’s nothing monitoring that substrate it shouldn’t matter , I’m pretty sure you can’t remove that one either
@stopher197111 ай бұрын
Or maybe push that substrate all the way toward the O2 bung until it stops, and then tack weld a couple low profile stoppers in there to where it can’t move forward, let me know what you think, thanks

You're saying the material inside has broke and makes a noise when handling andoving around in your hands?
@stopher197111 ай бұрын
@@AnthonyJ350 the rear substrate behind the O2 sensor the one that’s not monitored the NOX substrate, that’s only used for cold start emissions, it is not broken apart. It is just loose inside of the body it slides back-and-forth. It is not installed on the car yet but before I install it, I either need to stop it from moving around or if anyone knows does it rattle around the rest of the converter is in excellent shape there’s no rust and it has 50,000 miles.
@stopher197111 ай бұрын
That is a spun metallic substrate, Being that you can’t remove it, so I want to drill through the body and put that screws to hold that thing in the place so it doesn’t rattle around if that’s the case or like I said tack welded some stoppers through the rear exit so the substrate can’t move around

My G35 is throwing the code p0420. When I run the car for a bit and turn it off smoke comes from the bottom driver side.

Do you have a high flow cat or test pipes? Is the car tuned?

Hey man I installed is high flow cats and they came with extensions to prevent codes and I’m running into p2A00 and p2a03 and I can’t pass emissions cuz of this any tips ?

Hey bro, what’s the socket size for O2 sensors? 18mm or 22mm ?

I just installed my AAM resonated test pipes last week and just now my check engine came on with code P2098 Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Bank 2, I assume that's because of cats not being there or there might be an exhaust leak, but the bungs that came with the pipes are kind of long and in an elbow shape pointing towards the engine, I heard that having that type of bungs help with the check engine light not showing up but mine just showed up today. does anyone having this type of pipes have your check engine light on? and will this cause any problems driving the car like that?
@AnthonyJ3503 ай бұрын
You'll have to get the vehicle dyno tuned with UPrev to make it run correctly.
