I really appreciate when you say "I'm just using what I had on hand" referring to stapling blocks of wood to hold the panels. Otherwise, we DIYer's would take forever to complete a project!! I so enjoy your creativity and videos!

I think the lace is so sweet! It's adorable in it & just a little something different. Which I love it, when you can give it a different flare. Totally country chic! It would look lovely in a bedroom, with storage for clothes or somewhere with blankets stored in it..

Mary, I love the lace panels for the front. The crystal knobs add a special touch and combined very sweet and feminine and lovely. It would be beautiful in a large bathroom or anywhere with linens or tablecloths or even in the bedroom with sweaters or memorabilia. Tons of ideas

I think this would be a perfect nursery piece for a baby girl and the fabric could be changed as she grows older. It has a lot of storage. Great job Mary it’s pretty.

I’ve used Annie Sloan paint and wax since she started the company. I’ve never had a problem with the wax over white turning anything yellow. It’s a wonderful wax and I’m sure you will love putting it on, it works great! Hope this helps.

Same here. Altough mary does a great job, the cabinet looks bland and like it was made out of cheap wood now, like... you HAD to paint it to make it look good. (Which was not the case with this wood)

The cabinet turned out very pretty. But honestly it broke on heart to see the glass removed and painted. On camera it appeared to be in such good condition. I have a similar piece and would love for the sides to be glass. Original finish. Best wishes with the Peddlers project!

I agree wholeheartedly. I do love painted finishes too but generally reserve them for pieces with damage or that haven't aged well. When a wood finish is so rich and full of history, it's nice to see them restored and kept somewhat original. In this case, the lace panels could have worked just as well with the original finish along with replacing the glass inserts on the sides.

It is always hard to see wood painted... but this is stunning! 😍 The lace panels are romantic and simply practical. They will help with dust and can be washed! I have my paint ready! I love what you did. The lace curtains are an old fashioned touch and look completely appropriate in the way you finished the piece. I recently made over an old wardrobe into a linen cabinet with glass panel doors. I’m so proud of how it turned out. Watching your confidence in action gives me encouragement to try my hand at makeovers. I love your channel and don’t miss an episode.
