The Boots of Hermes are one of the most fun items to use in the entire God of War series. In this video I gave my idea on how Santa Monica could bring them back in Egypt.

Greek and Egypt are very connected even in real life...I heard stories that Greeks went to Egypt for vacations and had fun there and even settled there and mixed with the natives. Maybe Kratos wanted to live in Egypt after his work was done (we know how that turned out) with his family. His Family was already there waiting for him probably, hehe. Also, they looked pretty Egyptian to me, the people from that village he burned. I wish we could see Set and his pet, maybe even play as some egyptian gods, that would be awesome. Kratos and Set fighting Apep, awesomness.

Maybe the village was in Asia Minor (modern day Turkey). We know that the Greeks had colonies there and that the area had been part of the Egyptian Empire for a time. So some aspects of Egyptian culture could have bled over.

I feel that the primordials that were mentioned in the Ascension game stretched far beyond that of a singular realm, such as Greece. And it’s been said that the magic that fuels that blades comes from the primordial of Chaos, the same magic that Surtr mentioned and strengthened with his own. So the reason they still work I’d say comes from the primordial and not the Greek realm. As for Kratos, he will die. It may be another few centuries but the magic that curse him and bleached his skin, the magic and curses everyone bestowed on him in Greece, that is fading. Such as Persephone cursing him and the oracle cursing him. The blades will live forever as long as the primordial does where Kratos will eventually die of very very very old age

Kratos may simply die of being killed lol. I think once Atreus does a bit of his journey of self-discovery and proves he's capable solo, Kratos will be willing to let go and be at peace... kind of. I don't expect him to just go full Obi-Wan and disappear or something... but next time he gets killed, he won't fight his way out of the underworld to come back. He'll finally be one of Emiya's people. The ones who die when they are killed.

Not sure how well the math works out on this, but if the boots' power was indeed tied to Greece, then perhaps some of its powers could be restored-as well as new ones added-by Anubis allowing Atreus (if he is indeed the protagonist) to combine the boots with the feather of Ma'at; maybe it'd enable Atreus to safely traverse the Egyptian afterlife or even phase in and out of it at will. That, of course, assumes the feather isn't of cosmic importance or is being used in a truly dire situation since it'd be kinda dumb of Anubis to give Atreus such an important item just to upgrade these old winged boots otherwise. I was also surprised to see my comment on the previous Egypt video in the screenshot. Pure happenstance, sure, but it made me grin.

I also had an idea about the bow of Apollo and Mimir's land/region... you see, according to the irish myths, their island were settled many times by different people, Ireland in specific was invaded by greeks more than once, so I had the Idea of some greek expedition going to the island and leaving the magic bow of Apollo with the locals for some reason, maybe the locals stole the item, maybe the greeks traded for gold (because no man could use the weapon) who knows? but why the bow? well, would be a interesting weapon for Atreus if he gets to the brittish isles before Kratos, let's say that his bow got destroyed by fighting some powerful faerie, or tuatha de danann (irish/celtic gods), or even a fomorian (ahem! jotun) and the locals gave him this immensely powerful bow, because no mortal can use it, how cool would it be? he lost his mother's bow, but without knowing, he has his father's now... I mean, it's just fanfic material, but would be the shit to have a bow that shoots 5x faster, and a charged shot that explodes everything in sight, just for the fun of it.

​@@kratos5754 just having a little trip here brother, you see, the arthurian myths are part of GOW universe, it's confirmed, but it doesn't have any real "god" in it, so I think that they could blend the arthurian and Irish myths in a new GOW saga (and also other british and Celtic/Gaelic myths of the region in general), considering that geographicly these countries are very close to each other (Ireland/Wales/Scotland/England) not only we would have faeries and a ton of cool gods to meet, but also the fomorians, the giant creatures that fight the gods of Ireland, they could very well be the jotnar that left "midgard", that's a bit more than what they did with the 3 nordic countries, but I still think that it would be a blast, some of the myths and gods are weirdly close anyway, take Morgan Le Fay for example from Arthurian legend, she could be Morrigan, the goddess of war from irish legend, etc, they already have blend some of the myths anyway, with the Kelpies and Wulvers being from scottish Myths, yet, we can found them in the nordic region...

(Bit of a long comment, hope you read it all, might give you some ideas for future theories.) We've always been talking about magic being tied to the realms hence Kratos not being able to recall them. First of all, Blades of Chaos still work because Tartarus is both a god and a place in Greek mythology. Tartarus as a primordial god is probably still alive and, why wouldn't he still be alive since neither something that could kill him or a primordial god happened in this series. Now, let's take Tartarus as a place then. We killed the god who ruled the realm of the dead. Guess what? Killing Hades only released the souls he had been absorbing throughout his life and still, nothing happened to the realm, we simply used a Hyperion Gate and exited it safely. Even then, we killed Poseidon first and......Tartarus was not flooded with the seas so I'm guessing it still exists as a place and its still intact. All in all, Blades of Chaos should definitely keep working due to it's origins being intact from both sides. Secondly, more than a thousand years ago (we know thanks to your videos, keep up the good work Kuba!) Kratos attempted to kill himself and released the power of Hope to his realm which is the most powerful weapon of all. We saw Tyr visiting the Greek lands too and you had a theory about the Minotaurs and other creatures in the murals in his temple and how they could've somehow helped rebuild Greece again. I mean, its been a thousand years man, they must have rebuilt one way or another and don't forget that the power that helped kill Zeus was released upon them, with that power, I believe they even became a civilization once again. With that being said, did killing all the Olympian gods really mean the total annihilation of the realm? I don't think so. At the end of the day, killing the gods did not cause Greece to be wiped out of existence; it simply made so that "order" simply did not exist anymore. And, if the magic is tied to the lands and if its gone when the realm is gone (which imho is not the case) why did the power of Hope kept existing and Athena wanted it for herself? Shouldn't it have been gone too? To me, if a realm is to be completely annihilated, a true primordial god must destroy it and wipe it out of existence. When I think about it, this might be tied to Surtr being a primordial being and even in that case, more than him (Ragnarok) was required for destroying just Asgard but that's not my current reasoning for it, I just simply want to think it to be that way. To finish my thoughts, I believe the Greek realm was rebuilt and like @AbdBay said in his video, back then, people might have simply seen Kratos as a hero who ended the tyrannical rule of the cruel Olympian gods and with the new power of Hope (be it an active force at their disposal or a psyhological motivation provoking them to rebuild) they built a better, flourishing land and worshipped Kratos, the conqueror (just a maybe).

I personally like the theory that all the different blades like blades of Athena and blades of exile are the blades of chaos but given a makeover thus why the blades of chaos are still around. I think the creators were planning on adding the boots of Hermes as an equipment kratos could use in the new series but cut it out. It was literally shown sitting in kratos house in the first God of war 4 reveal trailer. It was shown at the very beginning inside kratos house near the door. Wonder why they decided to cut it out. Would’ve made gameplay way more interesting. Also the lore for god of war doesn’t say magical items can’t be used outside the land it originated from. It only loses effect if where it originates from is destroyed. Freya literally says this when explaining why kratos can’t use any of the magic he could in the past and that’s because literally destroyed Greece.

Okay hear me out, this might be crazy. Theory: with all the talk about the demiurge and the ultimate plane of existence, what if in god of war 2018 the Athena we saw was not Athena at all but the demiurge trying to keep kratos on the path of destruction to get rid of any complications that he may face if his plans were to become successful. I know it’s a stretch but if Athena treated kratos as an ally but spoke out context, why would she call him a monster when he finally grabs the blades of chaos? Even if she doesn’t have more of a green appearance when we see her. In the plane of existence she looks like herself but also has a blue aura so could it be possible that this theory may have a point?

Depends on what Kingdom era your referring about for who is Anubis's father. The middle kingdom Anubis was the son of set The new kingdom he was son of Osiris The old kingdom he was son of Ra. Also many do not know this but originally in Egyptian religion during first Dynasty he was lord of the Underworld (before Osiris replaced him).

The magic of weapons is TYPICALLY tied to the land, but the Blades of Chaos are tied to Kratos’ soul. They will go with him wherever he goes, and they will work there. I think that, quite possibly, the Draupnir Spear could be the same, since it was made with Kratos’ blood. Hermanubis is unlikely 😂 Perhaps Athena stole them and took them with her to the higher plane of existence! 😅 As far as Egypt goes, it isn’t outside of the realm of possibility that Kratos could return there, and find his Greek weapons working again. Greece did rule Egypt at one point, as well as both Greece and Egypt being part of the Macedonian empire, Persian empire, and possibly more.

I have a theory about how Kratos in God of War 2018 has the Blades of Chaos instead of the Blades of Exile: At the end of the original God of War we know that Athena gave Kratos the Blades of Athena but we don't know how she made it so what if the Blades of Athena are the original Blades of Chaos but improved upon Athena in a similar way to God of War 3 we don't know that the Blades of Chaos were destroyed for sure so if Ares took them to make a new slave after he saw how powerful they were but he died and Athena found them. HEY CAP! You ever thought just maybe the boots were allowed for Kratos to maintain in his possession as a means to bring Faye back from the dead? In the Ragnorock series, Kratos was reaching for Faye & we all saw that within the light, he was almost there to her. If he wore the BOOTS, he would be fast & strong enough to reach, grab & pull her out from the light with him having the boots. Atreus would FLIP & Faye WOULD RESURRECT the giants. The way i see the writing progressing in the god of war series is just to reach a point not upgrading anything plot related to the greek saga which is sad maybe only athena since she is in the higher existence . The directors are really boring now woth what they did in god of war ragnarok God of war 2018 turned out to just be a sequel to the greek saga when athena showed up and the return of the blades .and just talking which is sad how they destroyed this franchise We must be better than this 💔

The interesting fact about this is the merging of Pantheons/Realms what if the Magic is kept alive by being in these other Pantheons (Blade of Olympus Valhalla cough cough) Hades never truely dead because Kratos might still have his soul maximising his absorption powers So basically Atreus Takes magic weapon from past, takes them to Norse Realm (in the past) becomes known and power is set in stone either that or Greek prior ruling territories
