As for releasing it as a podcast, it would probably help me get through it a little faster some weeks, but I manage one way or another. You are the only thing out there on Thursday morning for me, so you have already snagged a good release day as is. Hey Vince! Catching the show after it aired as per usual. I would recommend for the future a soundboard, there's definitely in-jokes with the show that can be "played up on" through some sfx. Additionally, having a different viewing angle when looking at your presentations would be nice. On phone especially, the information from your PowerPoints gets screwed by the portrait framing. Maybe there's a way to shrink yourself and your guest windows and then overlap them in the corners, so that the PowerPoint could be a wide screen framing? Then switch it back to the default viewing like you have it right now when you want to highlight things in you and your guest video frames? You could also do this like when you want to show off something you hobbied, where you have a separate camera that you turn on at your station, and the view frame for the presentation becomes a "hobby cam" of sorts!

A Slaanesh mechanic idea could be in the army building. If you go more demons or more mortals you get certain buffs and debuffs that are opposites. So (for example), if you go all/mostly mortals armour piercing is high for them but speed is reduced and all/mostly demons, speed is crazy but AP is lowered. And if you mix units theres other buffs/debuffs to balance.

I had an idea to help speed up the game a bit, reduce the impact of deployment. I talked about changing how priority is handled on round 1. Instead being less drops controls priority, you always roll, but BattleReg gives you +1 to roll and you can bring up to 3 BattleReg battalions.

I used to love the old card system in Warhammer battle magic with power cards and dispels and drain magic, total power etc

My most memorable AoS moment was at my first event (summer 2023), and a Gitz player charges one of the squig units cant remember which right now into my 20 Grave Guards. Makes 100 attacks, and when the dust settles I have 4 Grave Guards left. That is so wildly unlikely and it more or less decided the game in the first round. And the grave guards were the 2h variety.

Tyler as a Lauka Vai truther did my heart some good. She's one of two key damage output pieces in my one drop Vyrkos list (alongside Graveguard) and tanked two shooting phases from my Skaven opponent in a tournament before my opponent just conceded.

1:59:20 i think at the moment Kragnos is my favourite warscroll, he makes my squigs and beastclaw fun but not broken, and he himself feels just as a demigod should without being just totally out of bounds. I also love Gotrek, but that’s only because he’s Gotrek 😊

When AoS launched they did a lot of Realm of Battle Boards, not to mention Chaos Dreadhold My guess is they have been slow to revisit this, outside of Warcry, because it didn't sell well Stormvault came out in 2.0 and is gone now A lot of Azerite terrain that came out for 3.0 will likely go away in 4.0

Id love to see some eps about strategy / in game decision making if you're grasping for topics! Maybe review a bat rep or something, I don't know how to do it, but alot of us can't play enough to think about those decision points abstractly with enough data.

Darkoath would have been way cooler 5 years ago when we thought malign portents harbingers were all hinting new armies. Now they dont shine as much next to all the warbands that have been released. But small army supplements sounds cool. They can drop new armies in a single weekend. Hopefully thats what the rumor engine is. Small dispossessed supplement for CoS.

Yes Tyler! I noticed recently a lot of different people on battle reports "dropping" dice with 1s up in the palm and getting high numbers of 5s and 6s. Glad I'm not going mad. I kept thinking, "how is that not cheating??"

Now I am dreaming of AoS-Old World. AoS game style but old world lore and themes but new sculpts. Just imagine Ind cultists or the forgotten lizard men of the South Pole! Dark elf raiding parties! I think AoS dynamic would be awesome to have an Old World “themed AoS season”

Dice rolling, yeah. I take forever counting out and picking up 20+ dice, then I drop one. Then someone asks me something and I lose count... I probably feel the most clumsy and doofy with that

My take on USR:s is that the community will create them if the game creator does not. It is part of the language that is the game rules. If you take the rule concept from 40K "Feel No Pain" (ward saves in AoS). In 8th and 9th edition there were no rule like that (or maybe it was on one unit... I have not looked through the entire ruleset :) ). For example Death Guard in 8th had the following army rule (from wahapedia) Disgustingly Resilient Those favoured by Nurgle are inured to pain, their rotting bodies shrugging off all but the most traumatic damage with ease. Each time a model with this ability loses a wound, roll a dice; on a 5+, the model does not lose that wound. Compare this language to Deathless Minions, from SBG(L) The undead are oblivious to injury and empowered by their masters’ presence. Friendly SOULBLIGHT GRAVELORDS units have a ward of 6+. If you do not know what a "ward" is, this rule makes no sense at all. And if you have one definition of what a ward is that makes things easier to communicate. If you did not have a language to confer the Disgustingly Resilient rule, then you would have to explain it. But you dont want the disaster that is 7th edition 40k, this is from Guilliman Special Rules: • Adamantium Will • Chapter Tactics (Ultramarines) • Eternal Warrior • Fearless • Feel No Pain • Fleet • Precision Shots • Precision Strikes • Preferred Enemy (Chaos*) • Lord Commander of the Imperium • Primarch of the XIII Legion • Unyielding Will The thing they did in the latest battlescroll is fantastisc. Bodyguard rules are wards with a consequence to the provider. Great, nice and clean. And you can write a rule all flavourful and the effective part is "X provides Y a 3+ bodyguard".

I get what Vince is saying re clocks, however clocks are a relative fix for now as the system change won’t happen until at least 4th. It is unfair if your opponent is taking way longer than you so yous don’t finish the game

i just think that before releasing new armies they should flesh out the older releases more. look at votann, custodes, genestealer, world eaters, thousand sons even adeptus sororitas and admech and ofc drukhari. they all have glaring holes in their line up.

1: Tyranids is the correct answer of 40k army in AOS, just do the melee units while ignoring most of the ranged, bugs of ghur, simple done. 2: Grimwrath stalkers has gotta be one of the worst warscrolls in the game surely, Zey do nuttin! 3: Removing sub factions broke my heart when you said that, but then you said replace with armies of renown - Yes im down for that, its literally 2nd edition battalions again, Yes.

I don't generally disagree with Vince's analysis of the underlying chess clock/round time problem but it is missing an actual solution. We can't change the over-fiddly armies and in the cases where the real fault is more with the player, the chess clocks do really help bring awareness and accountability to the situation that players can use to either improve or work around their limitations. Is it ideal? No. But if you want to do something about this I don't see how else.

The worst warscroll is clearly the Scriptor Mortis. Not only does it have the most unnecessarily verbose rule that I've seen on any warscroll (the same unit cannot be picked to be a judged soul more than once in the same battle? My friend, the wording above makes it so that was never an option in the first place. This unit cannot record the name of a different judged soul in that phase? Just say you can only judge a new soul if the previous one died), the rule itself also does absolutely nothing in most battles. Have fun tracking all this crap just to maybe do 2D6 mortals to a non-Death hero once per battle.

Khorne should play closer to how IronJawz work! would fit thematically! And Ironjawz should be a bit slower, but beefier/tankier, I like how they made new Ard'boys 3+ atleast, but whole army needs some more, most are still on 4+ save alone, for beeing walking tanks aestetically. Also attacks, everything is like dmg 1, and hits like noodles without the +1 attack buff, Look at brutes aestetically, Brutes should deffinetly be dmg 2 attack base, just make them like 3/2 attacks each base instead, and still buffable to 3dmg, slightly less relying on synergy there, base dmg better, but with the buff not much more offensive then now. Similar treatment to the goregruntas, slightly less attacks, dmg 2 base, and give all the units some slight more survivability then now.

Bit disapointed how Krathusa is still focued on "buff power ball" DoK playstyle. Everything has to be "wholy within 9" or WW6 .. then Krahusa (6W model) herself is 170 points, but basically needs cauldron (WW6) to give those points back. Loose one of those fragile pieces and game plan breaks apart.

I say to Tyler the best advice I got from someone not Vince is a historical painter who has painted thousands of models ... stop fucking around and paint it As to chess clocks the issue is making micro-movements an important part of a game with more than 20 models on the table. Needs to be ditched. Star wars legion you move the leader, then set squad up within a distance of the leader. Measurement is leader to leader. Also fully agree if they want it to be a 3 turn game they should make it a 3 turn game like warcry, and ditch all this on turn 5 they get really good crap

I loved the Old World lore. Still do. Age of Sigmar lore just doesn't do anything for me. It still makes no sense to me, and seem to lake any direction. I have tried. I understand changing the game. I will never understand why they had to destroy that world for a new game. Just retire one, and then make the new one. But AoS lore is disappointing still.

Enjoy listening to an ama while hobbying. If you could have more women guests on the show, that would be welcome. Don't expect it is intentional on your part, but I still find warhammer content of the non hobby flavor to remain heavily male.
