As a fan of Rosemary’s Baby and the novel, I loved Apartment 7A! Even if I knew what was going to happen to Terry, I was still rooting for her. I loved the dance scenes too and how it showed more info on the coven.

why terry and rosemary didnt talk in the laundry room like the original movie?

Julia Garner is the reason I'll probably watch this, but not until I finally catch up and finally watch _Rosemary's Baby._

Shes an awesome actress Singing Dances Really great movie because of the actors & location

Never watched the original but thought I'd check this out and it's better than first omen and immaculate. Both came out this year and exact same story but had to fast forward to get thru. But this was a great character study in paranoia and lead actress nailed it.

I liked this. I thought it was interesting. It added some background mythology and some “new” nostalgia-like moody moments and vibes for fans of Rosemary’s Baby. The production value was very good and I appreciated the attention to period detail. Dianne Weist was spot on as the Ruth Gordon character, as was her husband. And Julia Garner great as usual. (I can’t pinpoint out a weak spot in the cast, now that I’m thinking about it). I really think this film does a good service to feed big fans of Rosemarys baby, and it didn’t disappoint me. I’d MUCH rather have a new story to add to the original story than a dumb remake. This one satisfied me. I really appreciate your review, though- different takes from different people! And when I looked first at review of this, I was hoping a review from you would pop up and you did! Thanks!

I agree with you on the cast, my biggest complaint was the scene transitions, it was very choppy and didn’t play out entirely, every scene change was a jump cut without a full explanation to how we got there

Rosemary's Baby is my favorite movie ever and I completely agree. You can feel it was made with a lot of love but it suffers a lot from being too derivative. Not only that, but adding those scary scenes while the original didn't have any of that except for THAT scene didn't help.

It's getting good early buzz and it's overdue for a remake. With a bigger budget and modern CGI it should be a better than the original.

Acting was good , story was almost good, but the scenes changes were choppy and disjointed like they were tired of shooting and wanted to get to the next scene without any transition, and there is a lot of plot devices that are squeezed in with little reason for being there (like finding the door between the apartments) It could have been so much better, but like I always say “It’s no Rosemary’s Baby” that is one of the very few “perfect” movies that is my standard comparison to all other movies in that genre Edit: the rhinestone demon was silly, what the original did with suspense and allowing the viewer to imagine and then the few reveals was much better
@charlesbassjr.51773 ай бұрын
This movie was great. Disjointed? I don"t think so. No reason, the door was how she found the book. Duh?
@parkeaudio13383 ай бұрын
@@charlesbassjr.5177 but not the door to the basement shrine, she had no way of knowing it was there or at least they didn’t show us how she knew, unless I missed something

While i would say yes you are correct on the idea of it not bringing new the table. To which i say, so what? It was a good movie and I like slow burn so wasn't tedious to watch at all for me. Some revisited a movie that is truly a classic from 1968, one that we horror fans loved and revere, and what did they do? Gabe us more of that good stuff. I have seen and love Rosermary's Baby but say it's "scary" by today's standards is really kind of a stretch. It's creepy and so is Apartment 7A. Not to mention they didn't have the audacity to put either "Resemary" or "baby" in the title tells me that had enough integrity to make a film and let it be iwhat it wanted to be. Thankfully thjey did not try and make a sequel as the ambiguity of the ending is so tasty. Kind of like how Handmaid's Tale (the show) ruined itself when they made season 2. Finally making this film they way they did will no doubt bring a new wave of audience to the original and I like that idea a lot.

The movie is okay but yeah why it chose to be a same story like the original is lame. A better prequel would have been about the Castevets. About them as a younger couple and how they became satanists. That would have been interesting.
@ButterCookie19843 ай бұрын
Good point. That would have definitely been interesting.
@jonfreeman96823 ай бұрын
The story is the same because the genre is all the same story. It's been done twice already this year alone in first omen and immaculate. Exact same story so nothing new. But it's still not a bad character study in paranoia.

I thought a prequel for The omen would be unecessary, but I thought The first omen was really good. It all comes down to the writing and direction. I also never thought there would be need for a sequel to The shining
