Little tip for when threading on a connector like that. Press it against the threads but slowly turn it the wrong way. At some point it will push away from the threads and then suddenly pop back to the threads. You’ve now aligned the threads. Turn the correct way and it should go on without issue.

I installed my dishwasher with the high loop drain. It just made sense. I keep getting water back into dishwasher from sink. It’s a new dishwasher so I had the manufacturer come out and see that everything was working properly and he of course could not find anything wrong. Going to try your other suggestions! I’m thinking it could be the hose.

Great video. If the water in the bottom of the dishwasher stinks then it is because the high loop is not present or too low.

Hi Dave! I made the high loop, but I still got (clean) water backing up into the dishwasher. So then I turned off the water inlet to the dishwasher and kept using my sink, as you suggested. But once again, I have (clean) standing water in the dishwasher. So that means the problem is not the water inlet valve, right? Do you have any more suggestions as to what the problem could be? Or is it time for me to call a plumber or possibly replace the dishwasher? Although, it works fine other than this. Thanks!
@ApartmentMaintenancePro Жыл бұрын
Oh wow. Water could be leaking by if the water inlet doesn’t shut off all the way, this is just a guess though. Could also try replacing the drain hose which should have a built in check valve
@sk012sk Жыл бұрын
@@ApartmentMaintenancePro Thanks for your quick reply! I just came back to delete my comment, because I think we had turned the water inlet the wrong direction. A couple of hours ago, we turned it the other way just to make sure we had it off. And now we are not seeing any more water in the dishwasher. So it sounds like it's the water inlet valve after all. Thank you so much for your help.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am trying to unmask the problem myself. I also think it is the water inlet valve. Its clean water in the dishwasher. It has not been used in months. I have hand washed my dishes. @@sk012sk

I have a lot of questions that may sound dumb? what tools did you use to remove the water inlet valve, dishwasher cover, disposal hose? Also, the bottom of my sink doesn't have a water inlet turn. MY house is 2015. Any help is greatly appreciated. I am attempting to solve this on my own before having to call someone

my dish washer doesnt even power on and i still get water in the dishwasher sometimes just from doing dishes, i was told i needed to replace the garbage disposal. When i go to turn off the water supply to the dishwasher it doesnt tighten enough to shut off. i did the high loop with the hose to see if that fixes my issue...
@amyblevins9930 Жыл бұрын
Do you have part number for that water inlet value?
@MichelleCook-bd2pz10 ай бұрын
Hello! Thank you for a great video. I have water standing in my dishwasher but also quite a lot of water running out onto the floor underneath it. Shutting off the water mitigates both problems. Could the issue still be the water inlet valve? It seems like there might be a compromise in the connection or the water would just run into the dishwasher. Thanks for your help.

This is exactly whats going on with ours...did you ever find out if it was the valve?

You said shot off tap and if water doesn't fill up in dish washer. Then valve is faulty (Minute 2). do you expect water to fill up when valve is shot off?. Is that the normal expectation?
@ApartmentMaintenancePro7 ай бұрын
If you don’t have a high loop on the drain hose and its hooked up to a garbage disposal it’s possible (not likely though)

I can't recall how many times I've solved this problem by fixing the drain hose with the inverted trap. There have been times I've had to replace it when a jackass cuts the hose for a tight fit.

Hey Dave what's your email? I see under your KZbin profile it said email for biz but never had an address? Anyways I had a call just like this. Customer said she hasn't used dishwasher since she moved in and it overfill and leak out. I was getting OL from the water solenoid coil...I just figured you could do a continuity test on it!
@ApartmentMaintenancePro Жыл бұрын
aptmaintpro@gmail.com - even though the coil isn’t energized the valve it self may be slightly stuck open letting water pass by 👍
