"Apfelstrudel" (apple strudel): Austrian original recipe w/ filo pastry | Sandra Dias Recipe | English Subtitles
"Apfelstrudel" means literally apple swirl, and it´s a recipe originally from Austria, created in the city of Vienna, and it´s made with filo pastry.
Apple Strudel is also well known through out Europe as "Strudel", and the german version of it is made with puff pastry, which is a much higher fat content pastry, because it takes a lot more butter.
I'm going to teach you the original Austrian recipe with filo pastry, how to roll it very thin, and make a delicious apple filling.

Filo Pastry
- 500g all purpose flour
- 200ml water
- 10g salt
- 40g butter
- 01 egg
Filling
- 1kg apple
- 120g raising
- 150g sugar
- 02 tsp powdered cinnamon
- 80g chopped nuts
