This man is great. What'd they say, the Jack Reacher of Christianity? lol There are others though. Maybe some not quite as gentle and well mannered, though I think their hearts are genuine. Have you heard of Bob of Speakers Corner? I like him. Also Corey of Smart Christians. Nate from Wise Disciple. SOCO Films. Revelation 22:13. And Avery, of God-Logic. Life of Godlogic 2.0. David Wood, Apologetics Roadshow. Fellow Canadian, David Lynn of christsforgiveness. Sam Shamoun. Radar Apologetics. In no particular order. Hope you get to check them out sometime if you haven't already. :) P.S. If you think of more, please leave them here in the comments :)

I became aware of your content less than 8 hours ago, four videos later you have yet to lie to me or misinform on scripture or the history of it. I thank God for you Wes. This is the information I myself have been looking for. I have been down so many false teachers KZbinrs holes. I have great given God discernment and I know when stuff is off. No doubt even watching wrong information is opening up all sorts of issues for the soul. This is most needed now as the clarity of the Gods word gets lost in all the noise. We all just want the truth. I would like to ask you if you are a Catholic? I have always loved Jesus and have been fascinated with learning about biblical history and anthropology of Christianity. I also feel like Saints along the way have left marks and miracles for us to have witness for in the future as records to the past. Thank you both for travelling to Egypt 🇪🇬, looks too hot and sandy for me. 😊 Thank you this is a brilliant series.

11:20 What Wes is describing is when one scribe at one point in history, copies a manuscript, and for personal reasons writes an annotation in the margin (to explain the text), that manuscript is then copied by a different scribe maybe 150 years later sees that annotation and is not sure if it is part of Scripture (that was missed during the copying process) or an annotation (and can’t ask the scribe who wrote it since they have long been dead) ends up adding the annotation into the text and over a period of time looks like it is part of scripture when in fact it was nothing more than an annotation. This is most likely what John 5:4 is, an annotation from a scribe that was over time included into the text of Scripture. This is simply human error, not a malicious act to change the Bible. This is why textual criticism is so important, because it analyzes all the texts from various time periods from different manuscript families to find out what was accidentally added over a period of time.

I'd be interested to learn more about your thoughts on the Dead Sea scrolls. I have listened to some lectures describing where they were found how they were found and what they contain. My question however is why during their discovery where they taken to a place called the Palestinian archeology museum which then mysteriously became the Rockefeller archeology museum? So I know the official story but I can't help but be a bit skeptical about what may be missing from the scrolls.

@weshuff my question is, if a verse held some significance why remove it? The verse when Jesus teaches the disciples how to cast out a demon and says “this one can only be cast out with fasting and prayer.” Fasting is removed in some translations. That’s a pretty important statement to just remove

There's a problem with the idea that "later scribes added". In the Orthodox Church, we understand that some verses were DRIOPPED by EARLIER scribes, due to notes on manuscripts intended for use in liturgy, but the scribes thought the notes were intended for copying. Those verses were investigated by the early Church fathers, and retained in later codices, after they were determined to be in the autographs. The woman taken in adultery is one example of that.
@writethevisionministry305014 күн бұрын
Your assessment regarding John 5:4 being added to scripture is easily refuted for the following reasons. 1) 99.2% of all existing Greek manuscripts contain the whole verse. 2) It is in the Greek Textus Receptus and the Greek Byzantine Text. 3) It exists in many Old Latin and Vulgate manuscripts as early as 300’s. 4) It exists in the Syriac, Coptic, Ethiopian, and Slavic. 5) Greek Codex Alexandrinus contains the verse from the 400’s. 6) Tertullian quoted in the early 200’s. 7) John Chrysostom quoted it in the late 300’s. 8) Internally the omission of the verse breaks the structure down with verses 6-8 and by having verses 3-4, it flows contextually. 9) The reformers had access to many more manuscripts than we do today being that the reformation was 500 years ago, and a lot of that external evidence has been lost to time. 10) God's promises of divine preservation in being able to give us a perfect Bible in our day is often overlooked in these types of discussions. I will stick with my King James Bible. 11) The proper historic model of the transmission of the text of the N.T. from the book of Acts was from Antioch to Rome, and to Spain, not Egypt. And regarding the Egyptian Papyri, much of which has been discovered in garbage dumps, even textual critic Sir Frederick Kenyon (1863-1952) said in his Textual Criticism of the New Testament, 1912, pp 39-40, that “These [papyri], valuable as such copies may be, on account of their age, we cannot look to them with any confidence for purity of text.” Hope this helps and blessings.

Which Bible ? The Bible inspired by the Holy Spirit (73 Books) or a Bible manipulated by man (66 Books)?
@lizcutajar935213 күн бұрын
The RCC only added PART of the Apocrypha books in retaliation to the Reformation. She never held on to them before that.
