I can’t wait to see your reaction when you get to a real river crossing! I smile every time you say “river crossing”!

My daughter also loves the downhills. I keep reminding her that it takes the ups to get the downs!

What an absolutely stunning sunrise and a reward for the last stretch of the Smokies! Congratulations to you and Focs! One of the toughest part of the AT is conquered...onward to the next ones! You can be so proud of yourself!! Hope you both can take a rest at the hostel, maybe two days?

Vids are awesome! When I was in the army, downhills were the worst for me. If you haven't already tried, I naturally learned a "shuffle step" for the down hill marches (w/50lb's on my back). They are short, quick relaxed shuffle steps (just a shuffle like it sounds, similar to dancing..). See if it helps? I took ballet for many years.

Yep that’s exactly how I go downhill now

What are your thoughts on consuming "road kill?" Do you think it's safe?

I’d say no to that

Congratulations on completing the Smokeys! Lol I am the same way in that I am better uphill than downhill. Downhill I am very slow, but uphill I am faster.
@kevintolbert49342 жыл бұрын
Uphill yeah! You can adjust your heart and lungs, but downhill is hard on a body. Do what you have to and adapt as needed.

The sunrise was beautiful!!!! So was the view from the "if I wasn't so scared,,,, well let me try" spot!! Thank you for your effort to get that view photo's-stunning!! I'm taking the no knee issues being addresses that your slower pace and less miles is working well for you. Hope you two arrived early enough to get hostel room.
@hikingdancer2 жыл бұрын
I’m addressing that in other videos. I actually fell that day again. Just before getting to standing bear. I’ve felt like I’ve been whining and so haven’t mentioned my knee that much.
