Tim Cook: quiet, humble, wise. And believable. This was a well produced interview. There were apt questions about products, processes, and goals structured in a way that left room for Cook’s character emerge. Well done.

@@colt5189 Terrible take, and I will explain why You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about in regards to this field of technology. This headset isn't expensive when you take into account the level of technology that is packed into this headset. This is actually incredibly competitive with the market that it is targeting, beating the price of many other alternatives (Which based off of what we know about the APV so far, are actually worse than it.) You are not at all the target audience for this hardware. Apple did not make this product for you, it is for developers and enthusiasts that are interested in MR. It is essentially a developer kit on steroids. I, along with so many other people, have been waiting for a headset in this category paired this level of software optimization for over a decade. I do not know anyone who is into technology that isn't excited for this headset to come out. This is actually one of the best starting prices that Apple has made for a piece of equipment.

He’s a logistics genius and knows what people want and has that same drive to make it reality that Steve had. Where he needs work, in my humble opinion, is he needs to focus on keeping the product lines as simple and cohesive as possible. Products like the newest reg iPad or the $1,600 14” pro with 8/512, Vision Pro.. those products will sell but they feel more like something Logitech would come up with not Apple. We spend extra on Apple cause each product is thought out and cohesive and they only make like four models in each segment. Or did at-least. Again though, he’s the genius.. I’m some dude who’s accomplished nothing compared to him. I’m just proud of Apple and they are something in America most would be proud of and I just wanna see them keep making good products 🫡

I have the same opinion. Apple nowadays has too many products which vary only a little. And the naming is terrible... "normal", pro, max... Wenn Steve Jobs re-entered Apple, he also discontinued a lot of "useless" products...
@momofmanda
@momofmanda 7 ай бұрын
I agree. When Steve came back to Apple, I remember him saying their main products were computers and laptops. In each of those two categories, we needed simply a pro version and a consumer version. Basically four options. Of course, that was before iPhones and iPads and Apple watches. Once you start spreading out too thin, then, as the other comment suggested, you begin creating products that Logitech would create.

I'm really happy apple is investing in virtual reality. I'm really excited about the future. Our journey into virtual existence is ultimately going to be a significant quality of life upgrade. It will be like when human kind left nature. Left tents and caves. When we develops buildings, cities, and civilization. that's what the internet, and virtual reality, which is an extension of the internet, represents. My school counselor told me not to go into game design. That's what I wanted to do as a career, but in retrospect it would have been a good choice. The world is headed that way.

I get what you're trying to say but to say tim cook doesn't take any risk is dumb. He still takes risk but calculated risk. Although ironically he failed more than Jobs who were supposed to be more impulsive and have to back pedal a lot (I put a lot of blame on Jon Ivy too though, the back pedal happens after he basically left). Trash can mac pro is just bad as a a Mac pro, they kinda like mac studio predecessor but just bad, they later fixed it with 2019 mac pro, macbook pro cooling after usb c only redesign has been trash, they remedy it on 2019 macbook pro. They also remedy the usb c only design when introducing the macbook pro m1 line up. Homepod is a premium smart speaker that has astounding sound but trash voice assistant and also too expensive. Homepod mini tries to remedy that but why they haven't put as much money on Siri R&D is beyond me. Apple watch is technically a failure on first and second gen. It was until third and fourth where it actually become usable. The touchbar is supposed the new gold standard of user interface in keyboard, it didn't catch on and Apple had to revert back to original keyboard, butterfly keyboard is supposed to be this new industry breakthrough but it breaks so easily that Apple have to go back to original keyboard,Apple put so much resource on AR for iPhone but it hasn't become anything. I'm sure there are many more. But if just one of them succeed, if trashcan mac pro was sold as an in between mac mini and mac pro. If the industry all follow Apple to only use usb c only, if Intel didn't stagnant and do their job and be as cool as Apple hoped. If homepod mini was offered since the beginning and siri was better, if developer can optimize touchbar and it actually become the new standard for ultrabook, if butterfly keyboard didn't break so easily and had been adopted by other thin and light laptop, had Apple watch series 1 was as good as series 3, if AR in iPhone actually find a lot of good use case. If one or two of those happened Apple will still be hailed as innovator in the industry, unfortunately they keep failing on their bet on either what people really want now or what's the next industry hype or standard. They won the bet moving to arm processor but so far that's the only innovative thing they succeed

I think Apple has become less visionary and be more like for profit only. Android is quick to catch up and Windows is becoming more relevant.
