Either 1: They're stupid. Or 2: This was all part of their evil plan. Charm a potential spouse into marriage. Convince her to quit her job so she is forced to rely on him. Marry her and drop the kindness act now that she's "trapped." Isolate her from friends and family so she has no one to turn to for help. Constanly put her down and belittle her to destroy her self-worth and keep her compliant to his and his crazy mother's demands.

There are some partners(not just men) out there who definitely trap their partners like this. They have them quit so they'll be totally under their thumb and basically enslaved. My own RELIGIOUS parents taught me to always be able to care for myself and never entrust my financial stability to someone else.

Heey un autre français ! Génial ! Et je suis totalement d'accord. Il la critique sur comment elle se comporte en tant que femme au foyer (et la belle-mère qui ramène sa fraise) alors que c'est LUI qui lui a demandé de quitter son emploi après l'avoir épousé et qu'elle s'occupe de leur nouveau-né. Mieux vaut trancher les ponts avec eux plutôt que de se laisser taillader comme ça tout les jours.

I'm the luckiest girl in the world. I was a stay-at-home mom. I got up at 06:00 to prepare my husband's food for work. Then I would get our daughter ready for school. I would come home and do the washing, ironing, and basically spring clean the house every day. I would collect our daughter from school and come home for a 30-minute rest to spend time with her and talk about school. Then, I would start on dinner. My husband would come home, and his shower and dinner would be waiting for him. He would then rest for an hour. After that, he would show what a real man he is by washing up and cleaning the kitchen while I rested. Then, we would all sit down and spend time together. On the weekends, he would mow the lawn, tidy the garden, and take us out for the day. On Sundays, that's when we would do nothing. He is amazing and that's how real men behave x

@shawnycoffman Lol, no, definitely no sarcasm. I have been married for 30 years, but he had to give up work to be my carer as I had a head injury causing severe epilepsy. He makes me feel lazy, though, as he does the laundry, washing up, and washing. I don't get a look in even though I have said I want to do it. I do the housework too, but he does more than me. I think he still has his work mentality, and that's why he works so hard. That's why I said, "How lucky I am x

We're only single income right now because it costs us less that way regarding childcare costs. Once full time school happens for the kids, it's back to work for me and duel income. We would love a savings account to have something in it

Yeah...the only reason i am nkt working right now is because one child is in school for only a few hours in the day. Once hes in school all day, then i go back to work. I only stopped working because we wouldnt be able to afford bills and daycare if we were both working.

It's very ironic how the mil complain about the Dil spending money for coffee while she is also at Starbucks doing the same thing. Or the husband when he spends way more on lunches socializing after working 9-5 5 days a week with weekends off with a little overtime. But the wife is working 24/7 365 days a year with no weekends or holidays off. Which one of these three individuals are working the most?

Please help me here. I dont understand. Why would the husband and MIL want her to leave her job and be a stay at home mom but then after a few weeks start complaining that the husband brings in the money and she just sits around doing nothing. Why would they do that.? If they dont want tye wife to sit at home, not contributing to the house, then why leave her job.? I will never let a man talk me into leaving my job again and then let him and his family acuse me of being lazy. Yeah i work as a server but i provide for my family.

How can somebody else tell somebody how to raise their kid when they themselves did a massively crappy job raising their own kid. This so called husband and monster in law have NO right to tell this full grown woman to quit her job.
