8 GB of RAM is more than enough on iOS since it doesn't have true multitasking like desktop OS. Heck, my 2 years old S23 is fine with just 8 GB of RAM. USB 2.0 and 60hz display are there to entice ppl to upgrade to the pro model. Otherwise no one would purchase the more expensive model. EDIT: Heck I reckon the sudden generosity of Apple to add more RAM is due to the AI feature more than anything else.

My mother need a hearing aid. Modern ones are far from what they are used to be. The doctor told my mom, that all of what she can buy are now equipped with bluetooth and she can choose traditional battery cell powered ones or there are bunch of others which have a charging case, just like the airpods. She choose the charging case option and super happy, it charges itself at night, and has enough power for the whole day, the case can be charged with usb-c. She thinks that her hearing aid is better than an airpod, because it is almost invisible (almost all the hardware are basically behind the earlobes) and the doctor can (wirelessly) modify what noises should be louder and everything else will be the same (for example you want to hear birds loader, but keep the background noice of the city the same)

The audiologist themselves said the tech in the AirPods is better than in all but the very most expensive dedicated hearing aids. Also, when you're in the ecosystem it's really much better to just buy another iPhone if the old one starting to feel slow (like every 3-4 years) than switch to Android. But the sync with the MacBook, iPad, Family, Watch, etc. is just nothing to compare to with Android.

Those in screen fingerprint sensors have gotten amazing tho. Samsungs had instant and near-100% accurate sensors for a few years, and pixel finally got good that this year. I miss the power button reader but tbh in-screen is more convenient (when it works fast and accurately)

the camera app DESPERATELY needs a complete redesign. It's an overcrowded mess of redundant controls and completely different UX depending on which control you're using. I hope the not-button can be customized to launch 3rd party apps, because the stock camera in iOS has become rather unusable.

AirPods aren’t all day comfortable. Can’t see them replacing a hearing aid. BUT… well, here’s my own use case. When I was in college, I went to a ton of concerts. Now, as a middle aged dude, I’m suffering the results. I hear 100% normally in low background noise environments. But as background noise increases, my ability to understand voices decreases. In a noisy restaurant, I have a hard time understanding someone across the table from me. Also, if I’ve been in a loud background noise environment for a while, I have the same issue for a bit even when returned to a normal environment. It would be nice to be able to pop in AirPods and have them boost voices for me in situations like this. I don’t have any sort of hearing aids because outside of those kinds of environments, I’m no different than someone with zero hearing damage. So, weirdly, I think I’m the exact use case for this functionality.

That Pro camera design is 6 years old it's due for a redesign which we might get next year. I got rid of my 12 Pro and will just upgrade to a regular iPhone 16 because I love the size. 60hz is a bummer but it's more than enough for my needs and this is coming from a Pixel 8 user which has a 120hz display.
