Yeesh 😬 Last year when Dad passed, I called my brother to tell him that he needs to come right now, this is the last chance to see Dad before he passes away. My brother came immediately. ❤️

This happened with my grandfather. My dad is the 11th of 14. My grandfather passed shortly after the last of the kids made it home.

I had the same talk with my brother about my dad... My brother was really angry with me but he eventually talked to my dad the first time in years at my son's. 2nd birthday party... Then 3 months later it was my brother who passed away ... :( Death doesn't discriminate.

My brother was there with my mom and me until my dad passed. They spent time talking together ❤ he was with him in elevator going up to hospice in top floor of the hospital. But dad passed away before he was admitted into hospice. We all said goodbye to him 💔 together. This brother is evil sorry for his sister to have this vile person on her life.

The worst pain someone can endure is to love family that doesn't love you. It's not that he couldn't see the love, it's that he watered it down to "the bare minimum" when dad's love was more than he deserved

The female VO should just drop the asmr attempt or whatever that infuriatingly 'soft and gentle' persona was. She sounded so much better and relatable when she lets her full voice comes out, Both of them actually improved a whole lot in regards of emoting 👍

This sounds like myself and my older brother. My Mother was rushed to the hospital and I called him and told him he said she'll be alright. She died 12 hours later. I've taken care of the arraignments while he stayed at home whining about having a full plate. He died about a year and half later. Of the siblings I was the only one who had shown up for his funeral.

My brother would come and do nothing to help so I had to cook for him as well. I sold my house, moved my business and only worked part- time to be able to take care of my parents so they could stay at home. They told my brother I would get any money and the house, but my father had some dementia and never changed the will. I had to pay my brother $94,000. He said he didn't remember what they told him.

@@autodogdact3313 my sister told me that after dad died her and my mother got together and changed everything into her name. I always told my dad to enjoy his hard earn money and not save it. My mother and siblings didn’t deserve to enjoy his hard earn money while sitting on their buttocks not paying their bills and child support . Just waiting for the free money.

I took care of my dad before he passed in January of 2020...My brother sounds like this guy...Dad had memory issues and heart aliments...I had to help dad in and out of bed, help him take his meds and now I do the same for my 87 year old mom. My brother just calls and once every two or three months comes to see us. Mom did her will and I get the house and extra lot when she passes, not him. There's too much to type as for the reasons why he's not getting the house and land.

In the States there are certain debts that are handed down with the estate. Normally that's settled by seizing part of the deceased estate, whether it's physical or financial property. I've seen entire estates wiped out because of medical bills for their deceased parent before... and it's possibly one of the most disgusting practices I've seen here. In fact, some hospitals still send out a final bill for a lost family member, even after their death. If there's no money in the estate they sometimes will be allowed to charge surviving family members who have any financial obligation to the deceased. It's... ridiculous.. but it still happens. If I'm correct, the majority of debt is eliminated with the death of a person, but there are some debts that can linger. Which specific ones often depend on the State.

If dad is already unconscious, he already lost his chance. Going to wonder where they are because the estate is responsible for the debt. They should need to be shared debts for them to transfer.

Some people have a hard time dealing with seeing their parents in the hospital sick/dying. They really can't handle it emotionally or mentally. This guy is just a jerk. He wasn't deprived of love. I'm not going to deny he felt some kind of way when he lost his mother at a young age, but he's not the only one. His sister lost her mom too. What I don't understand is why he has such hatred for his father. Not all parents take the kids on vacation. No, not everyone becomes a rebel without a cause. Arnold is not grateful for anything his father did for him. She actually told him about the money. What does being your sister have to do with paperwork? He can do his own paperwork or his wife can do it. Arnold needs to realize that HE was the reason his relationship with his father wasn't good. Arnold is making excuse after excuse. He even married a woman as heartless as him No, Arnold didn't say Ruby is the only family he has. Does Arnold not consider his wife family? I guess not because only people who give money and clean up his mess is family.

Ugh, whatever. My brother tried that "My father wasn't around when I was little, that's why I'm like this!" once. Unfortunately for him I was there, (plus I'm younger) and I replied "He wasn't there for me either, stupid, but I'm not a whiny little b*tch like SOME people!" He didn't appreciate that (hehe) but he had no rebuttal! Our mom raised us and was amazing, and dad started coming around in our mid/late teens (that's another story! Lol) He (brother) was just an idiot who made stupid choices but blamed everyone else for the bad outcomes.

If the time comes, I am not going to bother. I don’t have time for a homophobic and transphobic bigot that couldn’t accept me for who I am. My brother can have my share of the inheritance…I don’t want it if it’s coming from such a horrible source.

Your POV is valid. The POV of the guy in the story however is WAY out of line. It isn't like the guy was abusive or like in your case rejecting. He just wasn't as warm and cuddly as this guy wanted. You don't insult a guy buy giving spare change at his funeral. I don't think I could bring myself to do something like that to someone I hated.

Obviously not an American story. Sure the estate can have debt. Debts are paid from the assets left by the estate. If the assets don’t cover the debts, that’s it. The only way personal debt can be passed down is if someone claims it on behalf of the estate. The exception is if the debt is held mutually by the person who died along with another party as in a mortgage or loan. Whatever assets left in the estate can go towards the debt, but the balance, if any, will belong to the surviving party. This is common in business partnerships. That is why those business buy something called key man insurance. It is paid by the business and is considered a business expense and deductible on taxes.

I disagree with some of the comments. I want my last memories of a loved one to be happy and with them alive. That's why I didn't go to my parents or siblings funerals or while they were in the hospital. I called but wouldn't go see them. And the memory of each is still pristine.
