Do you think it’s feasible to put GPT 4o on a phone? Not sure how robust the AI integration is on the hardware side. Thus you’re only getting a “normal” large language model native to your specific phone. My guess is if you want 4o performance you’ll still need to run it remotely or apple will need a better AI chip.

I had Samsungs for years but I switched to iPhone like 6 months ago and I actually use Siri a lot more than I ever used Google Assistant, it certainly wasn't better than GA but for little things like setting morning alarms and adding reminders I always found it more useful but it's great to see that they're finally updating it and making it powerful

I use siri everyday. There is an extremely high percentage incompleted requests with this response "I cannot complete/handle combined requests" when I simply ask "What's the weather?" Or "turn off the lights".

I recently switched from Android to the whole Apple ecosystem. So Mac Mini, iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch. I had my frustrations with the Android environment, particularly Android tablets (tablet apps are awful). But Siri is horrendous. Google Assistant is so far ahead that Apple that they are showing off features that Google assistant has perfected at least 5 years ago. They have a lot to catch up on, but the current Siri feels like Google Assistant when they first launched.

Would not count on it.. I use Alexa as a backup and very close to making Siri backup as Alexa gets my requests in the home 100% of the time and Siri is maybe 45%. With Matter devices just have both and poof you will always get what you want done.

That’s what Apple said at the event, it provides AI features baked in the hardware and OS itself instead of consumer using several third party AI tools. And it’s on device processing so it doesn’t need internet connection. I guess watch everything first and understand what’s the use case ?
