Mom: I dont want you in my life anymore. My response: The feeling is mutual. Then I would be blocking her number, and anyone who has enabled her behavior. That would include my dad, my brother, my grandparents, etc. Since my mom chose to disown me, then fine, I dont have a family. I'm better off without them. This is not only verbal abuse, this is emotionsl abuse, financial abuse, mental abuse. I hope Julian has sought counseling . Mark will always be the golden child, while Julian will alwas be the scapegoat,. I hope Julian stays strong. If his so-called mom and family uses the "But we're family" and is begging for money, forgiveness, a place to live, etc. , that would have been a hard no from me. Toxic is toxic.

Could be a mental thing: (hyper) focused (and quick to take up certain skill groups and retain knowledge - but socially inept … not that rare a combination. In fact, many “nerds” are along that way, though most will hold down a job - at least to buy themselves ‘toys’ (to a photographer that would be good-but-expensive lenses, for example). The parenting clearly did not help, either.

Story 1: What an evil woman. He endured her malice and verbal abuse for way too long. And it's amazing how often these villains keep insulting the person from whom they are demanding money. As if they cannot work out the basics: don't insult or berate someone if you want a favour from them. And don't try to rewrite history and pretend that things didn't happen. Self-serving lies and gaslighting are so pathetic and only drive people further away.

This story reminds me of an important truth everyone must remember: don't rush in to relationships. It takes more than a year to get to know someone, their family, and how the family works. In fact, I would say two years at least. You need to know what the parents do, how they interact with their children (adult or not), how the kids interact with each other, and how they maintain themselves (work, school, home life). After all, a person who cannot take care of their own life is not going to be an addition to yours.

I’m more of the “ people can’t keep up the act for two years and sometimes a little more. Eventually, they let the mask fall off, even if it’s bits of it. Eventually, the whole thing will melt off. Even a couple of my ex boyfriends would laugh at any new person I dated because they knew that they were not getting into my pants for at least two years. I’m not one to give myself to anyone who doesn’t understand that my body is attached to my head. They work in tandem. Get to know me and everything I am, or move on. I’m not a notch on his bedpost. So to speak.

Yes! Changing numbers is a pain in the butt- but doing so after something like that is always a good thing- especially if you have any beliefs that they will try and reach out again at some point. - new number and even still block their numbers or better yet-- why even respond in the first place? At the most, confirm that it’s dumbo and then-- stop responding and immediately block. They don’t need an explanation. They don’t need to know how successful you are. All you are doing is exposing yourself - and unnecessarily communicating with someone who doesn’t care about you- only money- which means they know you have some now, they will continue to try to get to you.

If any of my a-hole family members were to get my number through my trustees' (like going behind their backs, look into their phones, and find my contact number, or be nosy and look to see my caller ID and number when I'm calling said trustees, stuff like that) I would block their numbers immediately and if they used my trustees' phones to contact me, then unfortunately I'm still blocking.

Story 1: The fact she tells him not to call her mom cause they're not family but is going to him for money cause she's desperate then she turns a whole 180 when she learns what he's up to. She must be miserable knowing the child she never loved is doing better than the favorite one who is a failure she had to kick out but she likely still deals with a little of his debt.(He still has most of it but likely had his parents pick up some of it) Now she'll never get to enjoy the life of being the mom of a successful man & enjoy grandmotherhood because she & her husband threw Julian away. Story 2: Before learning James was a terrible person maybe worse than his mom I expected him to be willing to cut contact with his mom cause she was insane for treating his fiance like this or while sad willingly accepted it's better they separate & eventually found someone else after cutting contact with his mom. James & his mom are terrible people, his mom is lucky she still has her marriage & that James hasn't tried to ruin her attempt at getting a job

Was wondering if its possible to have the play list organized. That way if someone want to listen to all of the videos in a category about...... Let's say! Momma's boys then we can easily have a play list for that.

Great stories. The second story, where Kate had a spine was especially enjoyable. I detest those all to frequent stories where the female OP plays the doormat and puts up with abuse or manipulation by a husband or mother in law.

These stories make me pissed. Lady unless you have broken arms why can't you cook and clean?? The way she is talking to him I would sleep in a park bench. He gives them most of his check. My mother is almost 81 and when I visit she loves to make dinner for any of her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren.

This is where you show your Fiance your texts with his mother!! If he says Pay!! her smile and just say 2 words!! It's over and walk!! If he backs you kick her out of the wedding (she would blow it up) and tell her you are going NC To include your future Children!!

Julian needs to forget the promise that he made to his father and just move out of the house. Mom, Dad and Mark are jerks. Be happy to leaving the house and go no contact with them. The father is not any better than the mother. If you can afford to pay rent to your parents you maybe available to find your own place.

Does anyone fall for blatant gaslighting like Julian's mother is trying to get away with. Julian should have just ignored her unless he was looking for the last laugh.

I would have told her to call her lawyer, she’s going to need it when I press charges for the threats, or would it be blackmail? No threats, she addmited she was threatening the girl.
