Great choice! The first Rock concert I went to in a small town arena blew me away. They’re known as the hardest working band in the business. They played every club, arena. & town touring ax Canada and the US and always delivered! 👍🇨🇦

On the first day of MTV, April Wine was one of only three groups (along with The Who and Phil Collins) to have five airplays of a single song (Just Between You and Me). For total airplays the day was owned by Rod Stewart and REO Speedwagon. April Wine was still impressive in the list of total airplays for the opening day with the addition of Sign of The Gypsy Queen being played twice. So for total airplays we have: Rod Stewart 16, REO Speedwagon 15, The Pretenders 11, The Who 9, April Wine 7, Split Enz 7. Still a good showing by AW.

Roller was released in 1978 but hit its highest Billboard charting in 1979. One of their strongest albums was "Nature of the Beast" and it has a long, forgotten chillin'/rock tune called "Sign of the Gypsy Queen."

Lead singer and band leader Myles Goodwyn just recently died in December 2023. They had dozens of hits in Canada from the early 70s on and had a sizeable US audience because of border states, US touring and a popularity on early MTV.
