This is so sad. The name says itself. Your losing hope. No matter what you do, you can’t win. All you can do is anger the human and stall them, knowing they will just be back if you kill them. No matter what you do, you won’t win. It’s called losing hope because the only way he can truly stop the human is them to either get bored and reset, or for them to feel guilty and reset. I wouldn’t say that sans is actually giving it his all. He’s more just depressed because he knows that no matter what he does, he can’t win at all. Even if the human resets, sans remembers every timeline. There’s no point in any outcome. It’s just either pacifist to enjoy the same surface he’s seen a million times until the human resets, or to see everyone he loves around him die again. Either way, any reset always leads to at least one genocide route, and because the route is the most exciting, the human will more than likely choose it. There’s no point in choosing, no point in talking, no point in existing. But you know what kill’s me the most? Sans is always smiling.

It feels weird to find this so nostalgic now... I love the sprites in this (except chara having two stripes instead of one that bugs me), the music really sets the mood for how meaningless it is for Sans to fight, knowing that nothing he does even matters. Though I think the creator made Chara's dialogue a _little_ too excessive. Though I guess it makes sense for Chara to act like a hardass since they seem like the kind of kid to try and act all intimidating.

This makes complete sense as to how Sans’ perspective would be in Genocide. For the player, it's the climax for the entire build up for the Genocide route they had in mind since the beginning. Megalovania plays as you feel determined to beat the last person in your way to complete the playthrough, staying determined for one shot on Sans. For Sans, it's where he got in the way of a psychopath with the power to override timelines, to be able to kill all the people that Sans loves, as much as he wants, over and over and over again. There's no longer any winning situation for him in this timeline. If he lives, he lives alone in the underground forever. Never to be able to escape. If he dies, the player goes on to kill everything else that's left. It's a depressing day where no outcome for him is in his favour. If he even gets hit once, he'll die.

Btw guys, in this fangame sans has an special hability that nobody seems to know u cant do, you can save the game literally wherever u like to (in the middle of a turn, your attack, chara's attack, even in the game over screen) pressing the key 1, and load the game using the key 2, chara seems to react to you doing this. This changes the meaning of the game completely, turning it into a battle of determination, since you can now dodge the attacks much easier and continue as long as you want. I bet that just maybe you can beat the fangame by making chara give up, but I see it highly doubtable.
