@@andyeccentric I can read both ESP and Hymmnos, but translations for both of them can be a lot more interpretive from person to person so i didn't do it. Instead i translated the Russian part to be almost exact, with small exception in word structure here and there. Don't ask about REON. Fuck that. I'm also REALLY bad at Pastalie. The way emotional sounds are weaved into the base words is simple at first, but then you realize that there is simply not enough of a lexicon for you to really be able to use it. I can at least write something in standard Hymmnos, but Pastalie? Nope.

VERY late discovering this song, especially since I obsessed over the AT soundtracks in the past. Better late than never I suppose. I think this song is my favorite in Ar noSurge, being that I'm a sucker for music in minor scale, and am a fan of Origa since I first heard her live rendition of Moon during Turn A the Concert. Her vocals in Ghost in the Shell were awesome, and it's so fitting to hear her in a series like AT. Though she passed away too soon, I will always have her songs to go back to when nostalgia hits.

Wow... I can't believe she JUST died... I've been playing Ar noSurge on and off the past couple weeks and enjoying it, but I just got to the part where this song is truly featured and for the most part uninterrupted (as I believe it's played earlier in the game, but interrupted by an event, I may be wrong though). I loved the song so much, I came to listen to it and wanted to know who sang it, because the vocalist is amazing. I had never heard of Origa before this (though I had heard some of her music, just didn't know it was her). Anyway, this is my absolute favorite song of the Ar noSurge vocal collections and it might be my fav of Origa's though I haven't finished listening to all her music yet. Either way, I'm sad to see her die at such a young age. I feel sad that some artists don't get their due til after they die, but I suppose it's better late than never. Arigatou Myra for putting this up, and arigatou Origa-san for singing it!

The translation here is the translation made from the book that came along with the game. The book was in Japanese. It was an English translation of a Japanese translation. If that makes sense. And the Japanese translation was the closest that could be expressed in Japanese words, even if it wasn't 100% accurate. So there are kind of "two" correct translations of this song. The literal translation, and the one the Japanese audience got because it was the closest their Kanji could translate it to.

I knew some basics of Japanese and I would like to say, some differences are caused by the misinterpretation of the Japanese lyrics (but still I cannot explain why some Japanese lyrics are very different from the Russian one here). Take the translation of the first line of Russian lyrics '長き眠りより今再び目覚めん' as an example. The direct translation should be '長き眠り(a long sleep)より( literally means 'from' but 'after' would be better for translation ) 今再び目覚めん (now wake up again). There is no subject and object. In spoken Japanese (and Chinese), if nothing is mentioned before and the sentence is talking about someone doing something, it would be ok to miss the subject and expecting that the action is done by the one who says it. Like if A is going to tell B he/she ate breakfast, the Japanese would be '朝ご飯(breakfast)を食べました(ate)’ without '私は'(I). ( *this is the problem of Subject-Object-Verb order but not passive voice, that is another thing* ) However, if A would like to ask if B ate his/ her breakfast, the sentence would be 朝ご飯(breakfast)を食べました(ate) か(a question marker here)' while still without '私は'(I). Since there would not be anyone asking themself if they had eaten breakfast or not, it is obvious that a question from A to B. So it would be confusing to translate such a sentence without understanding the full situation. Therefore, the correct translation should be 'I now wake up again after a long sleep.'

Gotta say, my love for this game took a heavy hit today. The game contains nice alternative costumes for the characters, which is cool. Sadly, we cannot change the costumes in non-JP versions of the game. The costumes are in, but the thing that unlocks costume changes got removed (for a good reason, but still). Blargh. It wasn't "correct the world", it was "New world bestowed love upon us". And so on... Or does it make more sense in the context of a game?
