Once saw a fan hit Road warrior Hawk with a chair, not with the seat part either , it was the corner, he tried to hurt him! Hawk just looked at him and put his tongue out and flexed his gigantic deltoids and the guy ran!!! That was the only time I've seen a wrestler take a true shot" sideways" with a chair!!!

I've seen the Road Warriors fighting with the customer and Hawk got hit with a chair. I didn't see him sticking his tongue out, but it seemed more like their manager to get them out.

In the old WWWF days the cops with billy clubs swinging would escort the heels to the ring to keep the fans back. After a heel would “cheat” in a Sammartino match, or cut him the cops would have to escort the heel to their car and guard the underground garage entrance from the crazies who would wait to throw rocks at their car or try to tip the car over. Ask Larry Zbyszko, Superstar Billy Graham, or Stan Hansen how difficult it was to get out of the Spectrum or Madison Square Garden.

It would have been Zinck. Such a great territory, it's kind of depressing that the Maritime provinces have been forgotten over the years. Although it was before my time my grandmother used to tell me stories about when the shows would be in Halifax the likes of Leo Burke and Bulldog Don't Kent could, without fail, work crowds into a frenzy with ease. I'd have loved to be apart of that. Plus we had our share of stars pass through (Savage, JJ Dillon are the most notable tbh). Thankfully there is some surviving footage of the glory days, though.

It must have been, Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling, that Jim is refering to, in Nova Scotia. Emile Dupree founded it.then sold it by the mid 80's. They toured, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island. Leaping Lanny Poffo was an " International Heavyweight Champion " here, so was his brother, Randy Savage, in 1978-79. Even their father Angelo Poffo wrestled here, as, The Carpet Bagger, in a tag team with, The Cuban Assassin mostly. The Dynamite Kid was here for a little while later in his carreer. Leo Burke was a local champ, Killer Karl Krupp, Big Steven Petipas, Rip Rogers, Buddy & Rudy Kay, Ron Starr, " No Class " Bobby Bass, were some of the wrestlers from the 70's & 80's heyday. :) Of course there was Maple Leaf Wrestling, which was owned by Frank Tunney from the 40's -80's and then Jack Tunney until the mid 80's, they worked with Jim Crockett Promotions early in the 80's and WWF/WWE after that but I don't know if they came here to the east coast that often. It was likely one of those two for sure.

@@stevesellers6865 there was an event when I was at Pickens Co. Middle School... it had only been opened for few years... I was in 6th or 7th grade... so would have been 90 or 91. We snuck in the back door of the gym (that door was always propped open slightly with a rock) and saw Ric Flair and a couple others... one of them yelled at us and we ran all the way back to my house on Turner road... then came back shortly after. I think the Rock N Roll express were in the gravel parking lot signing autographs at the end. Will never forget it.
