Jayce didnt go to the undercity, he went to his blown-up workshop ruins, Thats where Viktor found him. I like that you realized Powder's expression after Vi's words and receiving Vi's childhood memento, its really rare someone sees it on the first watch. I really love your energy and reactions. In episode 1, theres a male lying dead under the mom's body. Its hard to spot since the mom covers most of it and has more vivid colors, but since Vander declared both parents dead, you can assume that it was them lying there in ep 1. And even though i totally get the feelings of "bad mrs. Kiramman hating on Jayce for playing with magic", she is a member of the council and her own supported inventor broke the law, did illegal experiments and it all resulted in half a house blown away. Why would she support him after he got sentenced? She even helped to reduce his sentence to avoid him being banished from Piltover, even though Jayce broke willingly some of the most basic rules of the city and violated the ethos. There are always different sides to actions, welcome to Arcane :D

ahh makes sense! - coulda fooled me, place got blown to bits! Yeah we both noticed her expression change as that conversation closed, pivotal moment forsure. Oh no way - didn't notice the dads body. It's not about her supporting him , it's about being as firm as a leaf in the wind lmao. she flopped in record time - i just find it funny. our opinions of characters will change over time of course - but for now the ethos sounds pretty bogus to me. Loving the show!!

@@donmowatt Hmm, but why is she a leaf in the wind? She supported him for many years until he turned criminal. Then she helped to reduce his sentence and stopped the support. Even though i dont like her, her actions make total sense. To understand the seriousness of their fear of magic: Imagine living in a post-apocalyptic world after a big fallout. Your town is one of the few places in the world where the rain carries no radiation poisoning. Then u hear that the guy u support for years secretly played with Uranium in his cellar. Bought by your money. Magic might not be a nuclear power, but the city's theme is "science and no magic because we all saw what happened".
@donmowatt Жыл бұрын
It's just an opinion. 🙃 I don't like her or her decision ..made up situations about real life doesn't change that hehe. ..nor does THEIR fear of magic - and clearly one character agrees with me - sup Viktor. I'll double down with saying the city is wack - piltover specifically. Would be glorious to see them get crushed - by magic 😉
@overgroll Жыл бұрын
@@donmowatt i respect your opinion and im a Zaun person myself, so no trouble there. but i also love to discuss and speculate :D comparing magic to nuclear science isnt as far fetched as you assume, though. -> bad things happened in the past, decision to stay away from it, playing around with it can be dangerous on an extinction level, might still have many benefits if ONLY used in the right way :) cant wait for more episodes. Also, i really love how you respond everytime and defend your opinion, not many do it and i appreciate the time you invest :)

I appreciate a good debate and strong perspective. Nuclear Shmuclear - LETS LIGHT IT UP! - hahah - jinx and I would be great friends.....that's totally why she nabbed all the magic crystal ball things. 🤣 On the level - Piltover have their ways - that's fine, but i erre more on the side of magic is dope - did yall even see the same mage i saw!? ...DOPE! hahah, - if they (the mage) figured it out - to the point of being able to ressurect someone, jayce's mom - then heimerdinger maybe needs a perspective check - along with the rest of the council who - lets be real - seem split - half sensible and half puppeter yes men. - like sure...be scared - you've been alive 300 years. when will you (humuudungie) let it go - or does he just plan to insert his overruling opinion upon generations of humans to come. I'm firmly rooted in council sucks phase. we'll see if this changes.

It's the same stuffed animal. All these years, Vi's been waiting for someone else to take the risk and solve her problem by retrieving it for her. After the bridge scene with Vander, Vi has decided she needs to take the risk to solve her own problems. Grabbing the rabbit is symbolic of that. Handing the rabbit to Powder shows that Vi isn't doing this for herself anymore, but so her little sister has a chance at a better life. The metaphors and non-verbal storytelling is crazy good in this show!!
@donmowatt Жыл бұрын
Yes, that's our consensus after talking more about it as well - the show does a great job at this totally agreed.
@ashiechristina Жыл бұрын
Ahhhh!! I knew it was the same rabbit! 😁 It was a small detail but played a significant roll. You even see at the end that Vander recognizes it and we can safely assume that he knows that Vi did something/is going to do something.

@@donmowatt Fun Fact: In Jinx`s good ending in "Legends of Runeterra", she finds Vi`s old rabbit "Mr. Bunny" which she calls "A dear old friend" and regresses to her Powder personality to return it to her "big sis" Vi, they then hug and do the "Arcane" headtouch and Vi says "Powder, I ...thank you."
@aspieanarchist54396 ай бұрын
@@donmowatt Also, for those who doubt Jinx is still Powder at heart in "League", listen carefully when she says "I have the best intentions."Also Jinx in the game often goes "Pew pew" and "Phew phew" when she shoots her guns and finger guns, and Powder went "Phew" when she narrowly grabbed onto the ledge and Vi caught her in Episode 1.

Aiyo, love how you guys caught the contrasts like Marcus being the newguard, much like Vi who doesn't know war, also doesn't know war unlike the old timers like Greyson and Vander. Loved how you also touched on subtle bits like Vi relying on Vander and putting her head on Vander's shoulder, and because Vander showed indecisiveness, took her head off and decided to take drastic actions when she felt that her only security at that time was not reliable and didn't felt safe. Keep it up!

It's worth remembering that Caitlyn's mother put her family's name on the line when she vouched for Jace in front of the council. His sudden confession probably put her in a pretty precarious position, and I feel like its reasonable for her to feel betrayed. Even setting aside his disregard for the law, he pretty much stabbed her in the back by taking her money and using it to conduct such dangerous, unsanctioned experiments.

meh? LOL. GO JAYCE!
@demise0 Жыл бұрын
You've seen just as much of the dad as the mom. His body was under her body in the episode 1 prologue. Cait's mom has a legitimate reason to turn against Jayce. They found something that was worse than a meth lab in his apartment (magic is VERY criminally taboo), and those magic materials exploded and nearly killed her daughter. I think you'd hate him too. Don't take on the point of view of only the point of view characters. Nearly everyone has decent and real and legitimate motivations to do what they do. Even Marcus (4 children robbed and blew up a building then ran from the cops into the bad part of the city. In any society, people would be demanding that the cops do their jobs and bring the criminals to justice immediately - Then the heads of government demand they do whatever is necessary to find them.)
@donmowatt Жыл бұрын
Someone else mentioned his body - but no - I did not see as much of the dad as the mom - hence my curiosity. I had to go back and look again. You're free to your opinion - but meth lab? ..hahaha - the daughter was completely unharmed in the blast - could of got injured...sure - was she injured? not even a scratch. I am free to my opinion - which is that caits mom sucks - for now :) - you wouldn't want someone telling you how to navigate and form your own opinions would you? I can understand a characters motive in relation to the situation and still think they suck :) Cheers.

As always, great reaction and theories :) If you want to understand the whole "Magic is dangerous, I've seen it in the wrong hands" bit, I would recommend you to watch "Ryze: Call of Power". It touches on what happened in the past and why everybody is afraid of mages.
@donmowatt Жыл бұрын
We've seen that cinematic (SO GOOD) but now can contextualize it a bit better - Im not really confused on why they think its dangerous - those bible looking scenes did a good job of painting the chaos and destruction magic brought - buuuuut im just a wee carefree about it haha, its no different than powerful science - just a different type of power (in my opinion)
@AvelynLunari Жыл бұрын
I totally get your point of view and I think about it similarly. But for those people magic was the reason for every major catastrophe happening in the last thousand years. It's not like those bible looking scenes happened once. Do you know how the world map looks? There is an ocean between Noxus and Ionia. Well, there used to be land between them, but magic just annihilated that whole region into nothing. Then you have mages summoning the Void multiple times, which is a universe ending threat. The ruination happened because of magic, permanently corrupting a region into an undead hellscape, killing the whole population in one go and continually killing hundreds of people every year. And Viego isn't even the first necromancer who tries to conquer the world. At one point the literal creators of the universe interfered by infusing some people with even more magic to battle the magical threats. It did not go well, those guys got corrupted by the Void, learned blood magic and almost destroyed the world themselves... And that's by far not everything bad that's going on because of magic, but you get my point. Sorry for the info dump, but maybe some statements or decisions from the council are put into more context and make more sense for you now. Your opinion is still valid of course, I don't want to say you're wrong. I only want to give you their point of view in more detail :)
@donmowatt Жыл бұрын
I do understand what you're saying - The weird part is the (other) comments trying to play up how dangerous magic is as if to convince me to take the councils side more - I get their side...im just not bothered much by it XD - the world didn't blow over (currently) and mages didn't tear apart the city....the explosion amounted to a small bomb - which sure is still dangerous but it honestly wasnt the biggest deal imo. - oh, and they dont even know the extent of the 'magic' he was working on yet to my knowledge. they acted pre-emptively because jayce dropped the nono word. Progress IS scary, so sure...they can stay stagnant in their rules - but i'm not about it. People gotta remember - I'm not watching these thinking of how ruination fits in or call of ryze, etc - or thinking about how lore outside of what we currently know about the show - affects current decisions - especially while watching it...... what we know as first time watchers - and whats fresh in our heads is how heimerdingoo portrayed the last mage war or whatever it was. - dangerous - fair to me - but maybe I just want anarchy...Piltover is boring and their outlook is stubborn. - with some of the recent comments weve had - people who know much more about the world and lore and backstory - are going to have a different perspective from the get go because they've already made their opinions in solidarity - they just gotta accept mine too. I know I'm gonna hear 'magic bad' a million more times from people - I'm un phased. any power is bad in the wrong hands, and I stand by that. Oh and the world creators screwing up and giving magic to clearly the wrong choices of ...people?mages? only to have it turn on them is their own damn fault lmaoooo - that aint magics fault hahah but those who wield it. Anyway - Its like me booing the council is making the jury mad. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 🤣 I appreciate the insight as always!

@@donmowatt Thank you for the lengthy reply and insight! I can understand why some of it annoys you. Like I said, I get your point and don't want to convince you of changing your opinion. On the contrary, I really like that you are making up your own mind and stick to your opinion! People do bad things no matter if they are mages or not. And fear is one of the main reasons people make wrong/bad decisions. I don't think there is a right side in this discussion, both the council and Jayce have valid points and everybody has to decide for themselves who they side with. That's the beauty of Arcane, everyone acts the way they do because of understandable reasons. To be honest, I didn't read all other comments before writing this on my way to work, so it was probably unnecessary and rushed to be the 10th person trying to explain it, sorry for that^^" And of course I don't expect you to connect something like these things or remember everything anyone said in comments of previous videos. I didn't connect everything at the first viewing either. Just trying to give some perspective. Just enjoy the show and have fun! I'm here for your reactions to the story, emotional moments and theories. And you do a great job at that! (And with "that" I mean everything in general. You have already come a far way and are just sympathetic people). I know comments are always fast to say negative things or state if they don't like an opinion. So please don't take any of it the wrong way and don't let it bother you too much :) Boo away as you like and do your own thing! Have a nice day! :)

So, the council, who have one member who has seen magic destroy civilizations, and another member who's race was almost destroyed by it.... are evil because they don't much like it when a student's illegal magical equipment leads to an explosion which destroys a house? Heimerdinger even told Jayce how to get away with a slap on the wrist, but he didn't follow that advice. (I loved the reaction even though I disagree.) Marcus is a jerkedy jerk jerk though.
