Wow wow wow..... I am 65. Moved from Brisbane to Sydney in my 20s....Was and am a water lover. I learned to windsurf and wave jump at Pittwater and Palm Beach and Sydney Harbour. Sailed a 34 foot Beneteau on Pittwater. And surfed the North Shore. I am living back in Brisbane now, and get out on Moreton Bay occasionally on a friend's cat. Thanks for the memories, and reminding me why I enjoyed Sydney so much. And congrats on your new job at HH. If I was in a position to buy a cat that big, I'd definitely get a HH.

Hi there. just stumbled onto your video of Sydney, I'm 74 and currently living at Murwillumbah on the Tweed river, what I was stoked to see though was my old town Manly where I grew up in the 50s at 'Fairlight' and it hit a chord with your youngsters who also fell in love with it,Seth I can assure you there was no better place in the world to spend a childhood than Manly. sincerely wish you and your family all the best luck in the world...Ed. ps I'm so envious of you all

Ms. Collins captures the U.S. in a 'nutshell!' We continue skidding off the politico-cultural rails, and neither the "Archer" adults or the Archer boys are missing Anything, especially the intense adversarialism...and we're only 18% of the way to 2022's elections. Getting away enough to have actual, absorbing fun around here takes discipline, seriously! (And I have an '87 Westphalia Camper in "Archer's" condition.) So weirdlyTense here.

Y'ALL ain't lucky as you say you are... Y'all are flat out BLESSED BEYOND MEASURE... I've been watching y'all's dhannel for a VERY long time now. I've seen y'all go through some ROUGH times and seen y'all go through more good times. So when you put it up on the scale of one's lifetime spent so far the scales say that Y'all are BLESSED! God has sent so many people y'all's way to help/bless you. Then in return y'all have helped/blessed others. I know for be personally watching y'alls videos have brought me joy on some of my worst most painful days as I lay in this bed. Watching y'all reminds me of years ago raising our kids we never had much but what we did have was love for each other and we had fun doing what we could afford. We did a lot of camping. The job I had made it so I had a lot ot three day weekends most of the summer. So we went up just 16 miles outside of Wisconsin Dells to a campground where we have ownership of a tent site. It was 115 miles north of us and we went camping just about every other week end. with my bonus paychecks. Then once the kids went back to school and the days got cold and the nights colder camping was over for the year. We had FUN then the teen years sit in and the boys got jobs well camping days got fewer and fewer. But we made time to do other fun things together as everyone timelines would line up. As I look back over the years gone by I can see how God blesses people in different ways. Some need big blessing now and then. Others just need the small blessings day by day to be grateful to God for them. My grandmother said life isn't luck there's no such thing as luck. We are blessed every day and in every way. Even when life is at it UGLIEST and seems like bad things are falling all around us. Even when we get to the point where it seems all hope for tomorrow is gone. Be not dishearten we are still BLESSED she said to thank the Good LORD GOD THE ALMIGHTY that things aren't worse. She told me and I've passed it on that at the end of the day amd you lay down to rest, look back over your day and find the smallest blessing God gave you that day and thank HIM for it, and you'll go to sleep peacefully thinking and thanking God for your blessings. Then wake up renewed for what ever may come your way that day... So with MUCH LOVE and many PRAYERS may y'all be blessed in Jesus name... BBE...

Hello Seth and Elizabeth, What a great episode! Jiminy Cricket will be happy with your catch and release program. Years from now, when the kids are grown up, they'll see each other after a long absence and say, "Remember when we were attacked by crickets in Australia?" And their kids will ask, "Are the crickets in Australia poisonous?" The kids were exceptionally goofy in this episode - 8: 35: It's alive! It's alive! Too funny! Are you guys going to circumnavigate the land of Oz?
@TheSailingFamily3 жыл бұрын
Haha. They were pretty goofy in this one. Having a good time... We were going to Circ, but this new Delta varient is making it hard to jump State to State. Looks more and more like we will be locked down in Queensland for a bit. Now we hope NSW gets control and maybe we can come back to Sydney for NYE. That would be amazing! ~Seth

Yes the Sydney Opera House was originally designed to depict two racing sail yachts in full rig on the harbour. The architect of Sydney Opera House, Jørn Utzon was a relatively unknown 38 year old Dane in January 1957 when his entry was announced winner of the international competition to design a 'national opera house' for Sydney's Bennelong Point. It began construction the day I was born 31st Oct 1958 and was completed the day I turned 16 . How many years did it take? Who knew what the cost back then would entail. The original cost estimate to build Sydney Opera House was $7 million. The final cost was $102 million and it was largely paid for by a State Lottery. The Sydney Opera House Lottery a bi monthly draw, with a 1st Prize money of $100,000 The largest lottery prize world wide back in the 1960's Due to the correlation of my birth and the build start my mother never missed buying a ticket. Did she ever win ? Anything? Hey Seth I have to ask How do you like & compare the Aust. beer to Nth American. I was raised on the Nthn Beaches of Sydney, grew up with Midget Farrelly and Nat Young surfing everyday. I left Australia to move to Nth America April 1886 when I was 27. I have been a sail boat owner most of my life . Many different styles SurfingLife with Malcolm

Really enjoyed this episode. You guys have a good positive vibe, which I love. What type of Laser was your son sailing?
@TheSailingFamily3 жыл бұрын
It's smaller than a laser and easy to bring on board. It's called a O'Pen Skiff (made by Bic). In Europe they are using it to replace the ancient Optimus, as this boat is self bailing and the boom is higher (less head injuries). It's a great little boat and we cannot say enough positive things about it. I wish our home yacht club used them more. ~Seth

Congrats guys! We like Simple, but if traveling the world, we do like our boat's dual chargers and shore set-up for both 120v and 240v, with a 50/60 switch. Truly global! Also, we have a single AirCon unit in the Salon for when we are stuck in marina's in Panama, etc. You should also look at adding a Bimini, or do what Doug Hibbard did on SV Puffin (4X). He can even send you the design plans to build it locally. Skip the Hydrogenerator and get as much solar as you can, along with LiPo batteries.
