Another beautiful bow from Flagella Dei, this one is simply a bit to heavy for me right now.

Thank you for the review! I didn't realize how powerful these bows can be. Moving heavy arrows at those speeds, you could hunt several species, humanely. That's not a toy at all

Hi Armin, I own the Scythian from FD and I find it a great bow, especially for the money. The Magyar at #50 is a bit of a heavy beast- I think a #35 would work well. Flaxen Saxon.

Whatever did you stuff the arrowbags with? I have a selfmade one with cloth and straw and my 45 pound at times almost goes through, having a more solid target sure would be welcome.

do the black stripes just decorate it (without the bone version) or is it structural reinforcement ?

very interesting test for a very good contruction, the shape of the bow is very attractive, but the geometry seems to have its limits ... perhaps better with only 35-40 pounds ? (idem with tatar model ?)

Хороший мощный лук , я бы себе такой взял, но вот только законцовки ушей закруглённые лучше смотрятся на нём, а не эти дубово-прямоугольные. Сколько такой стоит?

Been loving these horse bow and other traditional bow videos and been considering getting one. Can you make a video or instruct me on how to properly set the brace height on these if they're not indicated by the seller. Also any model you recommend?
@ArminHirmer
@ArminHirmer 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Brace height really depends on the model. Usually they have 16 to 18 cm. But as you see the Korean has way less.

Hello Armin !!! As allways , great review , great video and a great bow !!! MY LIKE IT !!!! 😀😀😀😀😀 Ok , one question : It is more easy for me to shoot with a 100 lbs longbow , than with a 50 lbs horsebow ...and I don't have a logic answer why ... Can you give me a straight answer , why ???? 😯😯😯😯😯
@ArminHirmer
@ArminHirmer 6 жыл бұрын
depends on the horsebow. longbow has long limbs, leverage. when you have a horsebow with long stiff siyahs, you should have even more the effect of leverage

I went for a 60lb bow thinking I can easily lift well over that so in a bow it would be nothing, ( I come from the uk where our long bows are normally 70- 170lbs) so 60 would be nothing right but nope full draw is 60lbs at 32" and damn is it ever hard to get back to full draw and hold I can hold for about 5 seconds at full draw then I start shaking all over the place I think I need something slightly lower maybe 45lbs or even 35/40
@Daylon91
@Daylon91 3 жыл бұрын
Lifting has NOTHING to do with shooting bows.
@namelikeanyother885
@namelikeanyother885 3 жыл бұрын
@@Daylon91 Well that's nonsense, of-course it does. You can exercise those exact muscles you use in shooting a bow (they are some of the biggest and most important muscles in our back!). You just need to get used to the movement itself "muscle memory". Most people would be absolutely unable to pull back and hold 60lbs the first time they pick out a bow, if Chris can do that, it makes him quite strong.
@Daylon91

@@namelikeanyother885 Talk to Joe Gibbs. He said nothing on a gym represents a bow. "If u wanna pull a bow pull a bow dont go to the gym thinking if I can lift thiss...rubbish."

@namelikeanyother885
@namelikeanyother885 3 жыл бұрын
@@Daylon91 Latissimus dorsi, trapezius, rhomboid, deltoids... Are the major muscles that you use for drawing a bow back. All of these can be exercised in the gym as well! Having a great volume of those muscles (as well as all the other dozens of muscles which archery uses) is going to help you quite a lot on your journey to drawing a heavy bow. It doesn't immediately translate, TECHNIQUE is what is very different from the movements at the gym but a very strong man can be drawing 100lbs in a matter of a couple of months. Whereas a very weak woman will only be able to get to maybe 30lbs in a couple months. Are you seriously implying that Archery uses some forgotten muscle which no other activity does? If so, please tell me. Please tell me the muscle which is solely used in archery so that I can go get a nobel prize in medicine. You're terribly mistaken and I doubt Joe Gibbs would agree with your disagreement here.
