I keep forgetting how fast Spencer is on the drums. He's like 3 times as fast as most metal drummers yet so precise! His kick drum bursts are something you don't really hear elsewhere, especially at these speeds. The drums almost sound programmed, but knowing it's legit boggles my mind. Beyond insanely fast. Glad you two enjoyed it! Last album I really thought "They can't go any faster" but now I'm proven wrong. So now I wonder again: will their next album be faster than this?!?

He uses Triggers in the kicks… because at those speeds it won’t be audible, and will sound muddy… but only triggered to produce a hit when the beater hits the drum. He doesn’t use triggers for Quantising. MOST EVERY Metal Drummer uses triggers.

Archspire being an "unassuming name" is actually pretty wrong, the purpose of the name arch|spire is arch meaning the absolute pinnacle of something or being ultimately superior and spire being the ultimate summit of something, so put together the name Archspire actually means to be the absolute pinnacle of the highest order imaginable.

The clean part at 3:41 always makes a hard lump in my throat. So fucking good. I love all the guys in Archspire. I listen to music a lot different than most people, and what I mean is, when I find something I love I really attach every fiber of my being to whatever that is for around a year. I listen to the songs over and over pretty much on repeat, and study everything about the music until I pretty much have every single nuance of the band's catalogue memorized. That's a lot of words, and I'm sorry. But that is how I am with Archspire right now. I'm really glad ya'll love it! STAY TECH!

The lore in their lyrics talk of the A.U.M. A science Cult that deals in a mutigen called the Black Ichor. It connects human beings to a greater hive mind, in the dreaming world. As far as I can tell, the Ichor mutates you if taken as a drink. But the priests of AUM seem to embrace it somehow retaining human form but connected to the Void. Again, this stuff is all in their other albums, the writing is Sci fi, John Carpenters Thing. But a Cult that basically ends the world in uncontrolled mutation? I've read all the songs and that's the lore in a nutshell.
