Right now its a bit more of a holding pattern, but its a better chance now. a Resin character model release, a physical codex, whether or not the contents are good (from what ive heard, it's no Traitor Legions- more a wash for Sisters specifically, but they are not the only faction in the book by a long shot... the books intent seem more of "add a dash of this" to what you already have) is, whether or not i believe it a step in a right direction to that day long hoped for. That said, i don't think it's all that yet, M Frazer. those models on the online store, named Cannoness aside appear more like metal repackagings to me, and the living Saint Celestine isn't on the store anymore. Upshot is the Immolator is back so WOOT more holy fire vehicles in circulation.

Forget Ward, Nick Kyme does far worse by the Sisters Sororitas than Ward does in total. Ever look up say 1d4chan's page on the SoBs, talk about "mysoginy" and the like? The reference to a single Dreadnought (They claim hellbrute, but nothing in the story itself says either way and it all is described as a Chaos Dreadnought with a Possessed Champion inside, so minor point) soloing an entire Sisters of Battle Convent, and a Living Saint giving up its divinity? Yeah that's Nick Kyme's work. And it's actually far more insulting in execution than the synopsis ever says. Including Khornate sounding Firedrake Terminator, the complete misunderstanding of what a Living Saint is, and the fact that a single Dreadnought (Or hellbrute if you rather) solo'd an entire convent taking thousands and thousands of bolter shells, multi-meltas, flamers, krak grenades, power weapons and eviscerators, krak missile salvos from Exorcists and showed absolutely zero shits given about it. Only the "Living Saint" giving up her divinity stunned the Dreadnought/Hellbrute (Because Possessed heretic pilot and Daemon Name being uttered) and a thrown thunder hammer instantly annihilated it. At which point the nigh Khornate Salamanders go "Smell you later" and teleport out, leaving the few survivors of this shrine world to die ugly to Chaos. Ever read about that story where the Marines Malevolent whirlwinded the crap out of some Orks and "just happen" to hit civilians too? Yeah Nick Kyme story where the Marines Malevolent were under orders to guard the camp and protect it. AAAAND said camp was a Sisters Hospitallier run medicae camp. And it wasn't actually in Ork territory, the Orks ran over a ridge line and made a long charge across open ground to get to the camp. Meaning that the Marines could have whirlwinded the crap out of the Orks like they did before they were in among the sisters and the injured. Oh, and when the Sister Hospitallier main character got ripshit pissed for being bombarded on, grabbed her stub revolver and decided to decry the Marines as Heretics? Well they told her to fuck off. So she shot one of them. Now a GOOD writer who's not a massive asshat woudl remember that Sisters Hospitallier have access to Acts of Faith and probably would have had the bullet get all Emperor's Wrath and annihilate the guy. Instead it just spanged uselessly off his armor and he backhanded the Sister into crippling injury, about to kill her for daring to strike at her betters before his buddy marine talks her down. For having nutted up hard enough to dare survive and strike at a marine, as ultimate the "good" interpretation of Marines Malevolent is that they respect hardcore bastards like that.

There's also a story in one of the Horus Heresy short story collections (forgot which one) which focuses on the Schism on Mars over a Tech-Priest created Abominable Intelligence as a war machine. In which its one of the few times in lore I got to see the "Faith" side of the Machine Cult. They were quite explicit in it "Omnissiah is The Emperor and he wants you to do right by the Imperium" in it. Then again, there was the schism during the Horus Heresy so we can say this stance isn't exactly universal. Buuut considering the Dark Mechanicus got kicked square off Mars we can presume the Mechanicus left on Mars does believe the Omnissiah = Emperor line. Though I do often joke about the Mechanicus being "Pokemon Worshipers" these days since the C'tan were classed down from Overlord Gods to pokemon the Necrons summon to battle for them. And older lore suggesting deep inside Mars the Dragon that Saint George supposedly slain (with the Emperor as Saint George in history) was a C'tan named Void Dragon that he imprisoned inside Mars and knocked out for a long sleep. Somehow. And that the Void Dragon's slumbering dreams shaped the Mars Machine Cult over the millennia so that their faith is spawned by the Void Dragon. Then again, the Warp in 40k is a strange thing. Belief and intent matters so much more than actual action. e.g.: While Khorne like blood, a ritual blood sacrifice to Tzeentch seems to power Tzeentch and not Khorne. If that's the case, could be the case that no matter what inspired the belief the fact that the Cult Mechanicus by and far believes in the Omnissiah as the Emperor kind of makes it true. In the metaphysical sense.

I agree.... but it's kinda needed to understand where/how/why they came to be. If you tell a 40k lore noob, "The SoB's came about during the age of apostacy, when an all female imperial cult was utilized as an elite force/bodyguard for Vandire." They're probably going to respond with: Who's Vandire? What's the age of apostacy? What's an imperial cult? Why did the forces of the imperium allow this to happen? And so on. This video should've probably been named, "The Age of Apostacy, featuring the introduction to the Sister's of Battle" but oh well.

The Age of Apostosy is a much more interesting subject than the Sisters, themselves. Power-Armoured "Girrrl Power!"-shit which *narrowly* avoids complete Mary Sue-status by the fact that they're fanatical, doesn't make for particularly interesting characters.

Yes all of the heresy surviving loyalist primarchs had long since either "died" or fucked off to do mysterious and enigmatic things. They didn't really hang around for long after the heresy tbh. Only a few 100 years as I recall.

And it took about a Millennia for the Cult of the Temple Savior to become the Ecclesiarchy. So there's quite a bit of a gap in there. Though the way Dorn is a raging asshat in the Horus Heresy, particularly towards Ephreti Keeler, I could have seen him getting pissy and trying to purge the entire Imperium of them.

Does SoB power armor on tabletop provide the same level of protection as Astartes power armor? Because it looks far smaller and lighter...

I'm not familiar with the rules per tabletop, however per background the Sisters' power armor is very similar to Space Marine Tactical armor. That said, the Sisters do not have the same level of control as a Space Marine, who have organs implanted specifically for armor control.

If I remember in the Tabletop it provides the same Armor save as Astartes Power armor. And Sisters had a 6 up Invulnerable Save from their Faith, similar to Bretonnians and their "I pray to the lady of the lake, your Cannonball is null and void". However their stat line is worse. Less toughness and WS if I remember so while the armor itself is still just as good, the person inside is not and they're a lot easier to hurt even with the Invulnerable Save. In the RPGs Space Marine Armor of later marks (Aquila Mark 7 and Errant Mark 8) are strictly better than Sororitas armor. Protection wise though Sister's armor is equal to earlier marks in protection (like Corvus Armor and Heresy Armor). However the Enhanced Strength isn't as good. The Auto senses aren't as good (Though gives Targetting assists where normally Astartes Power Armor doesn't because they don't need it), and their size is slimmer. This means they're a little slower (larger strides, faster movement, etc) but they're also harder to hit than say, an Inquisitor in Power Armor which would bulk him up and provide an equal strength boost to Astartes Power Armor. Space Marines use the Black Carapace and its superior connection to power armor that Sisters, Mechanicus, Inquisitors, etc, lack in order to make up for the "Bulk" and remain agile so as to negate the "I'm the size of a shed" issue with hitting them.

+Hitomi Salazar Thanks for the detailed explanation, only thing i find strange is why Mechanicus supposed to have any problems *at all* interfacing with their power armor, should they wear one. You would think they'd be just as good as a SM at that, provided they have requisite stuff implanted in their brain - same principle as with servo-arms and mechadendrites.
