Arctic Cat ATV carburetor removal and cleaning

In this video, we're going to work on a very poorly running Arctic Cat 500 cc ATV. Josh brought the ATV to me complaining that it wouldn't idle for long, and would die out while he was driving it around. I ended up pulling the carburetor off the machine, disassembling it, and giving it a good clean. That seemed to solve the problems. The reason we find a lot of stripped screws is because people use Phillips screwdrivers but those screws are Japanese industrial screws. It looks like a Phillips but it’s not.

I'm trying to a 2006 650 arctic cat v2 red back up and running that I brought from my uncle. it's just been sitting in his garage 6+ plus years with no one riding it. I've put a new battery in it, change the spark plugs and coils, did oil change, Siphon out the gas. We even clean the Carburetor, but only one cylinder opens when we press the throttle. Also, it won't hold a idle when in neutral

only one cylinder opens? are you referring to the valves? I'm not sure what you mean...

Ive been through my carb so many times and it just doesnt stay running and it wont idle or if it gets warm it dies

you might have a bad gasket on the bowl, or your jets are incorrect for your elevation. Check the boot between the carb and the motor as well for cracks or tears.

My artic cat atv 400 when I'm driving so far it cuts out its losing gas and it takes a few minutes to start and go again any ideas what be worng with it

Thanks for the video! I have a broken tube line that's is/was connected to a t-valve that sits in between the two intakes. That cable looks like it may run to the handle bar area. Do you know what that would be? Sorry forgot to add I have the 04 650 artic and it has the twin v2 carb.

Got an 09 650 H1 TRV just installed a new Chinese carb, runs great at higher rpm, but from a start it bogs! 🧐

Adjust your low jet needle, there should be 3 adjustment screws, idle adjustment, low jet, and high jet

,,,,,,,,,,,, WOW,, thanks for telling us all about the Jets to clean and what to look for,, and what the needle thingy that controls the gas and maybe we should just buy a NEW ONE FOR 42 bucks because WE can't find ANYONE to SHOW us how or WHY these things go bad,,, I am telling ANYONE that reads this to BUY A NEW ONE because the VERY THING RUBBER gasket in the carb could Break at any time because it is OLD,,, It is 2006,, ,,,16 YEARS OLD,,, BUY A NEW ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on ebay... Save yourself a HEAD ACHE taking it on and OFF,, 6 times,,,,
