Hey great video! Im getting ready to do my building the same way. Youre other video you said you were going to mount them on the post so you still had an air gap behind foam board and metal,and in this video you said you pressure fitted them so it sounds like there tight. Do you still have an air gap in-between building and foam board? Also how thick is the board you used?
@originalmicdropКүн бұрын
The best way is to mount an adjustable height caster wheel on the ends of the blade and I keep it 1 inch above the gravel......and it's easy to pull the wheels off for using in dirt. I use 10inch wheels on a 7 foot blade.

I ise used diesel oil to preserve the lower wall plate in my garage. It keeps termites out too. Used on my trailer deck. Top and bottom. I rigged up a sprayer to spray the undersides of mower decks. But I would never use it where it might contact human skin. It’s carcinogenic! I’d have used tung oil or a penetrating stain on a deck. You can’t even use motor oil on fences around livestock. Let alone people. And it can be illegal using it where it leaches back into the soil.

You forgot to give a positive pulse to the motor. This only shows its heading out. If you give the other big nr. 13 cable a positive pulse it will spin 👍🏼

Looks good. I'm from Montreal, so not far from you guys, and we too use salt on our roads in mass quantities. Here galvanized trailers are very common. Do they sell those down in New York? I got rid of all my painted/powder coated trailers years ago, because doesn't matter what you spray on them or do to them, they all end up rusting out. The powder coated ones are even worse than regular paint. I have a 6x12 dump and uncle has a 7x14 dump both galvanized. Bit more expensive, but well worth it to not deal with any rust.
@EverythingElliott6 күн бұрын
Galvanized trailers are certainly a thing around here, they just come with such a price difference that people don't often consider them.
@Sugarkryptonite6 күн бұрын
@@EverythingElliott I hear ya. For me, the lack of rust, plus very good resale value made it worth it. Plus I found a good deal and basically got mine for the same price of a similar painted/powder coated trailer. If you manage to get one at a good price, definitely worth it! 😃

Great video, I have used used engine oil and new engine oil to stain The wood on my trailer decks and the deck of the house. The only thing I did different than you is a mixed a little bit of diesel and used a fuzzy paint roller. It yielded a great result and didn’t take long
@daviddavidfofavid93836 күн бұрын
Been a painter for over 20 years. Thompson's "water seal" is sold to the general public and is famous, honestly, for being famous. They tell you it's not a stain it IS a water seal. It beads water because it is made of mineral spirits, and candle wax. (somewhat)effective, for about 6 months. Problem is; once you use it, you are stuck using it from then on until you replace the wood. NOTHING goes over parafin except more of the same. Your formula would be MUCH more robust, and more effective, but if you dont like the effect you are gonna be just as stuck. Possibly ask your local paint store for an amount of pigment ( ink based would be best IMO) to your oil treatment for "X" amount of gallons, (coverage is problably between 200 to 300 sq ft/Gal) keep in mind used oil is going to be inconsistant dark. Might mix up a batch try it out on a test piece first for color test. Just make sure you have enough to do it all in one mixing session, because a color match will probably not be possible.
@chrisw59117 күн бұрын
I mixed used oil with diesel fuel. 50/50 and used it on my fence post before putting them in the ground. Don't strain the bottom though so any moisture can drain out

Lookin' good, Hoss. One thing on the steps would be to turn the planks over so the cupping goes down. That way water will run off and during a freeze the steps would not be as slippery. Heart wood should always go up. Like boat builders say -- heart wood up, heart wood out. You saved some big buck using oil. It also preserves the wood.
