I've had the Tein flex z's on my 97 subaru impreza outback sport for about a year.... absolutely love em"........the car rides sooooo flat and sturdy around the corners...... yes, you feel ALL the tarstrips and bumps on the road, so if your butt's sensitive, don't get coilovers........ if you intend to take 1000 mile roadtrips, you WILL eventually feel the abuse in your arms/shoulders from the road beating you up ( trust me ), just a warning..........But, if you like flying around corners with twice the traction, and lowering your car for center of gravity advantages (and looks?), coilovers are for you...

This is a second video that was made by you guys that says these coils are not serviceable but thats not true. Unlike the monos which the damper is taken apart and rebuilt, these kits have a full replaceable damper for easy servicing. Non serviceable means once the damper is done you'll have to replace the whole coilover. Thats a huge difference, also you should mention these are compatible with the edfc line up unlike the basic versions. Last you mentioned the spanner tools are the same, they are not, its has two different sizes. One it for the locking (smalling nut) and the other is for adjustments (both larger nuts) not trying to be a dick but just correcting and adding info that would certainly sway my thoughts on these coils.

Back in the day when coilovers started to flood the market I remember the least expensive kits where the ones from Tein and Intrax, and lots of people that used them either for street or track were always talking good things about them in terms of ride, adjustability, dampening and material quality. In the Honda community lots of brands were producing super expensive kits, a lot of them from japanese brands like HKS and Apex which were running above $2000, that's why Tein was always respected for making high quality stuf affordable, like Enkeii wheels. However when super cheap copy-cat brands started to appear soon many saw it was good to flip the finger at those $700 coilovers from Tein and put on some cheap $300 ones from megan or whatever and Tein was forgotten. It's good to see a video giving a good talk and unboxing on one of their kits.

@@reallifeengineer7214 I was planning to get a set of coilovers for my daily driver. I don't want to slam it, just want to reduce the wheel gap a little bit. I was curious, since it's been 2 years, have you installed those coilovers yet? 😂 ...if so, what are your thoughts on them? 😁
@reallifeengineer7214Ай бұрын
@@blazed_existence3338 Yes my Flex Z are installed. Being running on them for 2 years now. When I researched available coilovers for my Lancer, the Tein Flex Z's spring rate is on the high side amongst all the choices. To be clear, ALL the choices have spring rates higher than factory suspension's spring. The positive: The car stays evenly planted going through turns. These high spring rates really emphasize turning performance. The drawback: Bumps & dips in the road - you will feel them more. What seemed easily handled by factory suspension, now seem to rock/upset the car more than before. In about 2wks, you will know where those spots are on your daily commute, and you'll learn a new auto-pilot response where you're steering around & avoiding those patches unconsciously. If you are concerned with what I stated above, then you can look into several things: Either get a different brand coilover whose spring rate is lower than Tein Flex Z. OR - get Tein lowering springs, and still use your factory struts/shocks. Lowering springs don't have the very high spring rates that Flex Z runs. For reducing the visual gap, lowering spring is probably the better way to go, keeping the ride behavior/performance very close to factory.

I had Tein ssp coilovers back in 2008 mounted on my supercharged 2.2l ecotec cavalier , these coilovers are the real deal for superior handling as well as shorter brake distances , something no one talks about. At 8:40.. How does the car not bottom out? You would think as the car gets lower you need less travel and stiffer with a shorter spring. Yet they found a way to keep the spring the same height regardless. So doesn’t that mean when you lower it or slam it, the spring will be too soft and have more travel causing it does to bottom out easier? Hope this makes sense I’m trying to explain it the best way I can.

If you have the money, around $1800.00 plus, Tein's Monosport coilovers are incredible. There a lot more beefy, and also have pre-load adjustments. The rebound on those coilovers, even when dropped, really low, is still incredibly compliant. Had them on my Acura RSX-S that was dropped close to two inches. The first comment everyone told me when driving in the car that it was not a harsh drive and incredible comfortable for a drop so low for daily driving. There are only two other type of coilovers I want to try out: 1.) Coilovers with reservoirs. I know Tein makes them but they're expensive ($3,600.00) in many applications. 2.) Ohlin Coilovers! I hear the ride of those coilovers is the pinnacle in aftermarket performance. They're not cheap but you have to pay to play.

Yes. I am interested but I am driving a JDM Honda Civic Type-R (FD2R) in Singapore, so I don’t know whether I can buy directly from your online store or not.

I know that Tein leaves soem pretty well explined instructions but after 25 years of use and a bunch of track days lets say that my chassis is not as straight as whwn it was new. Will use any advice i can get

Does anyone know if you can run close to a stock ride night. For the snowy months up here in Canada. I had cheap set on an old civic and all the way up the car would turn into a snow plow. Thanks
