Deviled eggs can be done an incredible number of ways, all depending on what you want. I've even made them with diced lobster or crab meat, with tiny diced onion cubes. Incredible stuff! How is it that Deviled eggs are not known in the UK?

For filling piping bags: I usually use a tall (not glass) cup and then slip the piping bag or plastic baggy into the cup and then fold the bag over the top of the rim of the cup. If it keeps slipping off the rim, you can use rubberbands or clips to secure the bag. A Buc-ees tumbler works well.

Put the piping bag or the zip-lock bag with the tip cut into a drinking glass. Then, you can fill the bag with the mixture. Fold the bag down over the glass first. I personally would not use a bag because it would need to be washed afterward. With the ziplock you can just throw it away..

There are so many possible additions. Experiment and see what you like best. Diced dill pickles, minced red or yellow onion, chopped green onion, jalapeno, sweet red bell pepper, celery, mustard, mayo, hot sauce, dash of cayenne powder, chili powder, chopped olive, mix the yolk with deviled ham, color the yolk with food color, etc. P.S. Put your piping bag or Ziploc bag and a tall cup and wrap the top around the cup. It’ll make it easier for you to type stuff in. Also, you need a bigger spout than the one you were using to push the deviled eggs through. You need to twist the top so that you’re pushing by the middle or the top down will make it easier Also, you can add chipotle/adobo into your deviled eggs and garnish it with the piece of Spanish sausage. You can make guacamole deviled eggs. Just have fun with it and be creative. You can make ranch, deviled eggs, etc. Really love watching you guys.

I don't think I've ever had Deviled Eggs at Thanksgiving, but they are super common at large gatherings. Filling a piping bag is easy if you hold a finger length of the tip in your hand, then roll the bag down over the outside. You're able to fill right down to the bottom and pull the bag back up once it's filled. Think of it like pulling a sock inside out. Minimizes gaps in the filing. It's more important for cake decorating than deviled eggs, but you end up with better piping of the filing if there isn't excess voids.

Easiest way to fill a piping bag (or ziploc bag). Put the bag in a tall drinking glass and fold the excess over the edge of the glass. With a spatula, scrape the egg filling into the bag. Once you've filled the piping bag, remove from the glass, squeeze bag so the filling goes into the piping end, twist bag at the top, and pipe the filling into the eggs. Easy-peasy.
@johngalt97Ай бұрын
Another variation is to use Korean sauna eggs. They're cooked for 2, 3, or 4 hours in the pressure cooker (instant pot). The whites turn progressively more tan and have a 'nutty' flavor, while the yolks get creamy.

I gotta say your darn close to my recipe and you mentioned a zip-lock bag to pipe it like I do. I have never put bacon in mine (yet), but I do like to put small petite shrimp on them sometimes as a garnish. I will say in my years I have had some pretty awful deviled eggs that tasted like egg yolk with no other flavor. Sometimes (The last time) I used just a bit of juice out of bread & butter pickles followed up with sweet relish and a half a cap full of apple vinegar. Along with French's Mustard. I made around 40 something of them for My American Legion function and watched most people take 3-4 of them away on their second plate, got quite a few accolades that night from people saying they were the best they ever had. Also I had never heard of Dukes before I moved to SC Upstate...It's actually made right down the road from me!😋😉

My favorite way to prepare deviled eggs is with the sweet pickle relish ❤❤❤ In the south - we even make sure they are on a table of canapés for the cocktail table to serve with cocktails - along with cheese straws (you can make them with aged cheddar and add a bit of cayenne or Tabasco for a bit off zing if you want them mild or hot - goes well with bourbon or whiskey based drinks lol ) and other treats on the table to nibble with your drink 💕I so enjoy your making our dishes. Don’t be afraid to taste and then add a bit more mustard and a bit more mayo - just do it to your personal taste and consistency. Sweet pickle relish and the paprika is traditional, but the jalapeño is also a very nice touch. I love making peanut brittle and adding the sweet jalapeños to the peanut brittle at the end of making it - just stir a lot in - it adds a kick to the candy

It may also help to not let too much of the relish juice into the mixture, which helps to prevent the filling from getting too sloppy or sweet. pro tip for using a piping bag: keep the filling pushed up against the nozzle end and instead of squeezing behind the nozzle, twist the bag at the end. as you twist the end it will force it through the tip while keeping everything pushed forward in the bag which will lead to smoother, easier piping.

For piping bags, either put in a large drinking glass, draping the ends over the sides, or put your hand in a cupping shape, like you are holding a cup, put the bag in your hand and drape the ends over your hand. Basically either way works the same and you are only using 1 hand to scoop the filling into the bag and scraping the spatula on the side. I prefer the glass method, as it works for any size ziploc bag when storing leftovers without making a mess. I’ve used a vase before, for a gallon bag 😊

They must have loved them because my in-laws asked me to make extras every year. I think my father n law ate half of whatever i made for every holiday. When you use relish in your egg mixture its difficult to get the pickle chunks to go thru the decorating tips on your piping bag. Thats why we usually just use a ziplock bag or I used a teaspoon & smoothed it to have a smooth egg mixture dome covering the white on the cooked egg whites so you get more of the mixture to white ratio. Pickled jalapeños sounds really good as a topper also. 😋😍😊🥚💛🤍🤜🤛🫶🙏
