Are the Helldivers real people? Or just constructs of memories, unearthed and sent to battle?

Frozen probably for transport purposes, to save on food, water, and energy. Also probably to ensure that they might still survive a catastrophic failure midflight if they’re frozen in their own pods

Yeah? Well why aren't the other crew frozen? Why only you?

@@saldol9862 sorry doesn't make sense. Especially with FTL jumps. Saving one person's food in a ship full of crew members. Also you can see there are many helldivers frozen there not only one.

In a sense, they don't

What gets me more, is how do they remember where you were going, what you were planning to do beforehand, your playstyle, etc? To some extent I imagine the helldivers from your ship "share a mind", or at least regarding the context of the current mission leading up to the point where the previous helldiver died. As a minor side effect, they may end up sharing similar habits or traits that overwrite their old ones. This is my headcanon.

Ah yes, like the well known memory implant port you see on the back of Spartan helmets

Where do u expect the players come from and how they come back to life in a realistic game Edit: They are frozen many because the clones need to be stored a controlled space so it doesn’t rot or get damaged and can transfer the conciseness of the helldiver

Helldivers being clones makes sense on so many levels. First and foremost. You are the COMMANDER of your ship. You don't send your commander into a hellish warzone. And no matter how often you die you will be and always be the commander of your ship. Wear the same cloth and arm yourself always the same. And you got a full frigate after you completed basic training? Why do you need four frigates if you have a whole ship of indiviuals of hundreds of well trained helldivers on each ship. Would it not be more believable that Helldivers are elite soldiers picked from the S.E.A.F. that die in millions each day to hold a planet. Then these soldiers get clone bodies and ship on their own and die for democracy. Since it would kinda be an awful idea to leave elite soldiers with hundreds of completed missions under their belt just because they were two minutes late to the drop ship. It's never really a swarming kind of problem. Just time contraints.(could be a gameplay problem though) That way each time they complete a mission the experience gets uploaded to the clone bodies. So if the individual dies nothing gets lost except for human remains. All just speculation, but clones make it more believable than each is an individual and all are trained commanders of a ship who do the exact same thing. It just fits better from a lore, gameplay and even from a propaganda perspective.

That is possibly just part of the Satire though. The government won't give you a choice in political candidates because no one can be an expert. Yet they will give you a ship and a world to die on... for you obviously are a military genus and as skilled as a one man army. Putting aside the sarcasm there, you get this freedom to conduct war as you see fit right out of boot camp, so this is clearly this is an obvious disconnect within the setting... and we are forced to live it as part of the Satire.

They are probably real people getting cloned with their memories uplinked to their destroyer
