Thanks ‪@vondelpete‬ for the prompt. I unfortunately have only started being a healer as an adult it seems. But these instances of healing have been very intense, emotional and meaningful.

Hey Ingrid in a lovely bird-chatty setting. 🙂You have me curious about Proust now. Yes, a safe presence. Being truly present with someone, listening with empathy and without judging or adding much in the way of commentary could be all it takes...One doesn't need to really 'do' much to heal. Just being there can make more of a difference than all concerned may realize. Excited for you and your upcoming trip! ☺-Carm

16:10-18:20 For anyone that wants to understand how Fi/Ne/Si work together. Thank you Ingrid, this sounds like it came straight from the INFP handbook! 😉 (I'd only vary in that I'm not given to crying ... there's the occasional deep emotional indulgence, but I prefer/force calm...)

Unwritten rule for cherry trees - what falls on you, you have to eat! Never could get into Proust. Are INFP's healers? They are known for being caring, emotional healers so it carries across that you would be one for both mind and body in your professional aspect. Maybe you were not so much of an emotional healer as a child (anxiety sucks, personal experience), but if you are now a calming presence then, yes, you are a healer. INFJ's are everyone's listening ear (the unpaid therapist), but INFPs are more of like the person who places no strains or burdens on you, just lets you relax and 'be' without putting demands on you. You can catch your breath around an INFP. That's 'healing'. Maybe it's more passive, and not active as perhaps you are thinking of (like a Mother Theresa?), but very important nonetheless. An emotional 'SafeHarbor' one can rest in for a bit, before going back out into the storm. You give off that kind of vibe when I see you knitting or cooking. I think you are growing into it more as you go, Doc.

Haha well most that fall have been picked at by birds. I get that Proust would be hard to get through as an INFJ considering how much of it is Si with a dash of Ne. Yeah i guess the INFP kind of healing would be more passive than active, like a safe space. 😊 i do think it is something i have grown into and gotten much better at, and i have gotten much better at handling the anxiety that was hindering me 😊

I'm very impressed you're reading Proust, I always think of Alain De Botton and his book 'How Proust Will Change Your Life'. Everyone says he is INFP and from what I know he sure sounds like one. It is so funny with INFPs because even the more anti-social and, you know, the more bitter/twisted ones still have this 'healing' vibe that I can see, lol. But I guess for a lot of people just having someone around who isn't judging and is genuinely listening, or just having a vibe of being calm, is healing enough. Pretty much how you expressed it. I should make another video on this topic (a proper video, not just one where I got to tell weird childhood stories) because I remember noting this with other INFPs towards me, say three or four years ago when I was in a more troubled place, there were definitely INFPs I knew (my friend David and the INFP hairdresser, and I guess another one or two I can think of) where I genuinely would feel healed by their presence, almost in a physical way, without them doing anything but simply being themselves. (But then, as I've said, I've known INFPs who have had the opposite effect on me as I've probably said)

@@vondelpete yes i am excited to watch your new video about that! Hmm interesting that even unhealthy infps would have this presence! What about that INFP you developed a rash around? Did he have a healing presence? 😂

@@radishraven9 haha oh man, he uh, wouldn't now 😂 (In fairness, when I started university and was awkward and miserable, when he approached me and chatted to me and was so lovely and I did feel healed...it took another year or two before things changed haha)

I've had some similar experiences where people have confided in me, and it is wonderful and connecting as you were saying! What do you think might hold INFPs back from doing the same? I feel like it's significantly easier to listen and give comfort to someone else than to receive that myself.

I can truly appreciate your honesty in this video and others you made. My take is you're stuck in an Ni-Ti loop. Watch videos or read up what that is. Not easy to break out of. Tip toe and find a way to comfort yourself so you can understand nothing happening around you is your fault. It takes time and some mental convincing, so have patience. Someone cares enough to tell you.

Hi Ingrid, I only know very few things about Proust probably only ' Madeleine de Proust ' about Si. Thanks for the lovely mention 😊 yes I'm really hoping we can do it. Yes It seems unbelievable but it will true! I don't why but I don't remember my childhood. One of the very few things I know that I was a very calm kid that even we I hzd fever usually z kid would cry but I didn't do the only way to know wzs to check my temperature and even growing up I didn't follow the standard model for being a kid or even a boy. I didn't console people because I was some alone. For some reason while growing I didn't seem sad although I have been through a lot and perhaps it's the bottling up of emotions that now made the sadness explode in this past few years until today. As I said to Pete I have consoled some people or something like that but it's in a weird way... Sometimes I do care too much even for some things that seemed basic for example my doctor was nice to meet so before she went on vacation I bought a gift which is a card with ' Merci ' on it and she was a bit surprised and she said it's rare. It may seem like boasting but I have met few people that trusted me with personal details znd they have opened up to me and I naturally did the same with them and some of them became my friends. I don't know if I can say my presence was healing but at least they told me I was some source of comfort. Yes times of vulnerability are something very unique I had a few of them with a very special friend... Thanks for the video. Take care
