kayleigh knight I knew JJ wasn't lying because after Spence shot the unsub he was untying her and she had her back to him. She didn't smile that "Guess I'm a better liar than you thought" look. She looked uncomfortable exposed and nervous before they looked at each other. That told me she was telling the truth.

Honesly I feel like that episode was realistic. Sometimes people marry even though they love someone else. And even if the person you're married is the best person in the world you still think about "What if..." and also "It's not him". I really think JJ appreciates Will and has a deep respect for him; that's why if she ends up wanting to be with Reid she'll have a really hard time telling Will what's going on. But I have to say this, even though I suppport Jeid more than Will with JJ, I feel bad for the kids. They did nothing wrong and if they face this situation it's gonna be kind of hard for them even tough they love Reid. But again, if this develops in a new romantic storyline between JJ and Spencer, it'd be real life. Sometimes this things happen because we lie to ourselfs or we prefer to stay in our bubble of safety and not take risks, especially when it comes to true love. Why? Because there are times when we feel like we're not good enough for the person we love and we decide not to go there, because it hurts as hell. Loving someone is really difficult and a lot of people don't seem to realise that. And they even have more complications like they are partners and really good friends and it's even more difficult when you're that close with the person. If this really turns into Jeid being endgame a lot of people will dislike JJ, but I won't and not because I like Jeid more, but because in real life people are not perfect; we have our fears and sometimes they really make us mess things up. I don't think JJ would ever want to hurt Will, Spencer or anyone, I believe she's a good person, but she's human too and she's gonna make mistakes rather we like it or not. How many people get divorced? A lot of them and not always there's a toxic relationship behind that. Unfortunately there's no such a thing as a "school to learn how to find your true love", that's something that we have to figure out by ourselves and if we do, we're lucky, because most of people don't end up finding their true love.

OMG, what you wrote its so beautiful and SO TRUE! - She was in denial of her true feelings for Spencer for long time and then when she actually could put them a name, it was too complicated and how you take it back... I mean there was alot on stake here... and there still is, thats why she only spoke because SHE WAS FORCED TO, otherwise she would still keep this a secret, and thats not fair, not for herself, not for Spencer, and NOT for Will, he is living a fake happy family, he is living a lie, and I think also deserves better... they ALL deserve better... there is not villains in this, they were all victims of circunstance... and JJ had to pay the price of silence too, so did Reid and so will WIll when he finds out but life is complicated, no everything is perfect or fair in life....

@@magaencina2863 I agree. I mean, from my point of view, her confession was romantic, because if it wasn't, why would she have a hard time telling him or anyone else? I mean I'm a girl and I have a really special and deep bonds with some guys and it doesn't mean romantic (they're like my soulmates, but also like my brothers), but I don't have a hard time telling them I love them, because we know that I don't mean it as a romantic thing. It's that simple. I just see them as my brothers and they see me as their sister and there's nothing more. That deep bond exists, but I don't think JJ and Reid feel that way. I could think that before the confession, but not now; like I've said before, in my opinion, it wouldn't be that complicated to say that in their situation if it wasn't romantic love. That's all I have to say.

JJ and Spencer Reid have Beautiful Chemistry together. When they are together on the screen, they are mesmerizing. l hope the Criminal Minds writers are not just setting Spencer up for another broken heart. It is too much to ask of his character. I have never liked the portrayal of Will, JJ's husband. Their marriage, always seemed forced to me because JJ was pregnant with his child, and then he offers to marry her. My hope is Spencer and JJ become a lovely, married couple with shared custody of her children. If the writers of Criminal Minds, insist on Spencer continuing to love JJ chaste and afar, then I pray his character is allowed to leave the BAU; so he can search for love and happiness elsewhere.

That episode was absolutely brilliant. Controversial. Reid was a James Bond like badass. Huge development. Ash Ketchums Dad I think "shipped" means putting two people's names together because fans feel they belong together like putting two names together on a houseboat or a ship. Examples are Will and JJ = "Willifer" (Will and Jennifer together) or JJ and Reid = Jencer Jeid (Spencer Reid and Jennifer Jareau together). No FedEx packages needed.

I don't think JJ was lying. The way she was looking at him waa real. I think JJ loves Reid romantically because when Reid asked her if she meant it, she hesitated. She didn't answer his question. I do think it's possible that you can love two people at the same time. I haven't really watched season 14 just one episode but I'm excited to watch episode 15 since we'll know their relationship in the pilot episode for season 15. Can't wait.

I think that she does love Reid romantically. I’m currently watching the show from the beginning, and in my opinion, she does loves Will in a way. But, if you look at how she acts towards him at times, it seems like she’s not that into it. I also think that in the beginning, she didn’t have those feelings for Reid, but over time, she grew to love him. I mean just from the looks she started to give him, and how she reacted when he was in jail. You can clearly see that she loves Reid. It doesn’t matter to me who JJ ends up with, but if she does love him more than her husband, I think she needs to let Will go. It’s not fair to him, because he’s a good person and only staying with him because of their family will only block him from someone who will give him the love he deserves. He deserves that respect.

He is like 3, he wont even remember the divorce. And they will keep things similar, when JJ is out of town they will stay with their dad on his house, and when JJ is home they will stay with her and even spend more time with Reid, who they adore! As long as they explain things to the kids and they keep being the loving parents that they are, divorced parents kids ARE AS HAPPY! -

And some people say they see Reid as an uncle but he is not, and they know he is their mom coworker and bestfriend and they WILL UNDERSTAND especially growing up that bestfriends can fall in love. I get where everybody is coming from. And that we all are a bit TOO invested on this show lol! But I strongly and respectfully disagree with a lot being said. The reactions to this polarizing twist has been fun and kinda overwhelming to see, it was obviously what CM wanted. I've got so much to say about this... I totally feel you on this one, my thoughts are all over the place. Well first I don't think this was ooc from any of them, on the contrary, from the very beginning their relationship has been portrayed as being the closest one within the team. These are two people who have been to hell and back together. Where at one point was attraction (Reid), and a level of trust so deep... like when JJ told only him about her miscarriage, or when he chose her to mourn Emily (a thousand examples as u said, so no need to go there). A good friendship she has with Rossi, Morgan, him with Garcia, Emily. Them, are a entirely different thing, the connection is so strong, even for the writers to ignore. I mean these are supposed to be grown a*s people, in WHAT world and who gets to say a relationship like this must be strictly platonic? Unless one of them is gay or asexual as u just said, I don't see why the lines couldn't have blurred to the point of disappearing. This is real life shi*! This so happens! And as for why they never said anything until now, I do get it. I can see JJ was afraid to reveal her feelings back then, because let's face it Reid's never been the most stable person, he's a VERY complex character, who was always going through one crazy struggle, then another, and another... And as time passed, they grew closer, so did the fear of losing everything if they took the risk. As a woman I totally understand the conscious decision to go for the 'safer' choice, which was what Will first represented. Actually I think JJ's never felt for Will as strongly as he does for her, let's not forget it took her a looong time, him almost dying, and a surprise wedding she didn't plan, to finally marry him. And let's be clear I do think Will is a good character, well written and I'm not saying she doesn't love Will because I do think she does and what he represents: stability, safety. Now OF COURSE she loves her children, that is not the question here. What surprises me the most about this whole situation is that in the XXI century, people are mixing things, saying that if she goes for Reid, it means breaking up, destroying and even abandon her family... Like woha! They're two completely different things. In what world does a divorce mean LEAVING one's children? They will always be their parents, who love them and take care of them. If they're both intelligent, mature people (As I think it's the case here) why would a divorce be the end of the world, WTF? And this is some pretty real shi* right there! That's why I love this twist so much! This happens! This is life. It is not black or white and unless you are a 15 year old, I think we can all agree on that. Even statistically speaking half of marriages are just not meant to be, that's an utopy (Look at Rossi lol!). And while trying to keep a nuclear family for the sake for your children is understandable, and at some degree even selfless. It is also sad... People shouldn't have to or even want to stay in a relationship ESSENTIALLY because of the children. That's just not right. And with time that takes a toll on anyone. I therefore do not think she should stay with Wll at all. Look at her background, JJ's character's always been fierce, brave, someone who takes no BS from anyone and fights for what she wants. What would it mean for her to finally acknowledge and admit out loud and to hersefl she's always had feelings for Reid (obviously pretty strong ones if they haven't gone away after all this time), and still stay in a marriage where she is happy "enough", with a husband she loves "enough"? Always wondering what if, her mind wandering to another from time to time? Is that fair to Will? To Reid? TO HER? Again, to her? In the end someone will get hurt. And that's life right there! That's why I've always loved this show so much. I really don't think it'll make sense for JJ to take back what we all saw at the wedding, or the other scenario that you said like "oh yeah we do love each other but we can't be together ok let's get back to the pretending". I think that is just not right either. And the other problem: then Reid what? Bring him a random gf out of nowhere so he doesn't end up alone? I honestly think now that they went there, there' s no going back. Only one way to be real about this. What would be the point of bringing this up now if they are gonna take it back? They have 10 episodes left to develop this huge bomb, there is plenty to tell, to show, to get into... there's the ultimate opportunity for a brilliant writing right there. For me the timing seems odd but perfect at the same time. It's messy, it's life, real. Writers had the courage to FINALLY go there, don't back off now! They should go all the way, in the right way.

And I personally think it would be sooo out of character if JJ decides to stay just for the kids, like even I THINK thats bad parenting, like you are supposed to tell your kids to follow their hearts, their dreams, to take risks and follow their happiness but you gonna stay in marriage just bc its "safe", I think the kids seeing her fight for her happiness even tho is fcking complicated is the BEST EXAMPLE! yeah, someone is gonna hurt, THEY ALL hurt at one point, dont you think it was so hard for Reid think he could never have a chance and to see her build a family? Even if they decide to stay together JJ NEEDS to be honest with Will AT LEAST.

I agree with what you said about them being together in a parallel universe, and about her not leaving Will. But I do think JJ loves Reid romantically. Had it just been a deep friendship (even teetering on the edge of romance) I don't think they would have made such a huge deal of it. I don't think that that would qualify as her "deepest, darkest secret" while loving him romantically would. But I also agree that she's not going to leave Will for him, that she can love two people at once.

I've always liked Will but I would like to see JJ and Reid together in the end. I've had one worry about JJ's marriage to Will. The "dark secret" she said about the baby she lost in Afghanistan would have been named Maggie if it was a girl. Because Will was so overprotective of JJ when she was pregnant with Henry in Season 3's New York finale: Lo-fi, I don't think that JJ ever told Will that she was pregnant in Afghanistan. Only Matt Cruz and Reid knew about it. Not even Garcia or Emily knew. But those two women that Casey shot probably heard JJ say everything and if they told either Will or the other BAU members in an interview then it's gonna hit the fan! Similar to one of Rossi's ex-wives never telling him that they had a daughter together, Will would be the most hurt by finding out that secret. Reid was mad at JJ for faking Emily's death for seven months, but it's been eight years now that JJ kept this secret from Will. That's the one secret I've always feared that could end their marriage.

I think JJ has always been afraid of letting people in because she has separation anxiety. Her father dumped her mother for another woman and her older sister committed suicide. In Season 1 as the press liason JJ was mostly business and very little personal. Today as a profiler she is mostly family and saving as many innocent lives as she can with the business. Over the years she has gotten the closest with Reid Garcia and Will. She had put up an emotional wall allowing her to like people but preventing her from loving anybody because she was afraid either an unsub might kill one of them or the FBI might transfer one of them or if she started dating either Reid or Will they might dump her break her heart and leave her all alone. I think that's why she was afraid to tell Reid that she always loved him. But the three of them, in their own ways started taking down that emotional wall like one brick at a time. Both Reid and Garcia were the most unusual people JJ had ever met in her life. I mean who wouldn't love Garcia especially after working with her for so long? Reid was a innocent mama's boy who was an inexperienced dater but who treated women with respect and not as sex objects. Making JJ laugh and all of the kindness and extra special attention Reid always gave her above any other woman they've worked with over the years helped make JJ love him more and more. I think JJ made Reid her Spence because he had earned a special place in her heart. As for Will he was more normal. A New Orleans guy who could mix business with pleasure as JJ discovered and liked when they first met. JJ's best bonding time was making Reid and Garcia her children's godparents. As for JJ's fear of being separated due to a transfer, ironically in Season 6 JJ was the one who wound up being transferred. She hated leaving her team/family but she did anyway. Reid and Garcia were the saddest ones to see her go. Thanks to Rossi JJ returned to her team/family as a new profiler a year later. In Season 13 when Linda Barnes wanted to talk to JJ privately JJ feared she was going to be separated from her team/family once again. But Emily Prentiss was who Barnes wanted gone from the team. As for JJ's fear of someone leaving her neither Will or Garcia had ever done that. Reid almost did in Season 7 because of JJ's 7 month secret of Emily Prentiss still being alive. Reid being angry distant and walking away from her broke JJ's heart. She didn't know how to get her Spence back. But Emily helped Reid finally forgive her. And JJ tried making their special friendship even closer than it was before. As far as her fear that one of them might die all three of them had life or death situations that made JJ love them even more than before. After Will got shot kidnapped and was left to die tied to a bomb JJ loved him more than ever before. When they reunited at the hospital JJ was heedless of her fear of being dumped and she finally agreed to marry Will. After Garcia was shot JJ wound up being the one who killed the man who shot her. JJ loved Garcia like another sister by then and felt that nobody messes with her family. Reid has had many bad situations: he was abducted, he was drugged, almost murdered, poisoned and he was shot three different times, he watched his new girlfriend Maeve be murdered right in front of him and of course, he went to prison. Each bad time Reid has had made JJ love Reid even more and more making her want to hug him more and more and even made her overprotective of him. Even after all that JJ still had one emotional wall up. She would let Reid and Garcia come to her with their problems but JJ almost never came to them with her problems. When her most heartbreaking time happened, the time she miscarried her second baby in Afghanistan JJ didn't tell anybody about it after she returned home. I don't even think she told Will. After she was kidnapped and tortured in episode 200 JJ spent nearly a year thinking it didn't bother her. Reid got her to talk about it thinking she just had PTSD but she told him she was mad at her dead torturer and secretly grieving over her lost baby. She swore Reid to secrecy and she still hasn't told anyone else hence one of her "dark secrets." Until episode 300 JJ never even let herself cry on anyone's shoulder. And she was crying on Emily's shoulder then over Reid and Garcia being missing. In "Truth or Dare" I wasn't surprised when JJ told Reid she always loved him. I'd be more surprised if JJ didn't love him. Out of everyone good JJ has encountered over the years Reid, Will and Garcia are the last ones she wants out of her life. Hopefully in Season 15 she won't have to lose any of them. But we will see. I will respect JJ's decision on whether to stay with Will or be with her Spence, but the main thing I want to see is Reid telling JJ that he's always loved her, too

Timing is everything in stories and with a JJ/Reid love story, the timing couldn't be worse. One thing I always admired about CM is, for the most part, they stayed clear of soap opera drama and this is starting to feel like that. If we were talking earlier seasons I would be all on board with it but considering Will seems to have been a supportive husband and father, why break that up?

First, I want to say I like both Reid and Will. They're both very good guys and it's JJ's choice who she wants to spend the rest of her life with. Second, I think that JJ originally didn't have falling in love getting pregnant and starting a family in her original plans. Why not love? I'm not entirely sure. Maybe because of her older sister's suicide when she was little. Maybe because her mom and dad got divorced and she felt that if she got married then someday Will would leave her, too. JJ might have just been afraid to love after all of the hurt she had already endured. She was an all business woman in the beginning who wanted to move up in her career without "sleeping her way to the top!" But she met Garcia who taught her what family love is. And Reid who taught her what friendship love is. And Will who taught her what romantic love is. Third, I disagree with the people who say that Will was forced on JJ. That sounds like Will was a rapist to me and he definitely isn't. In Season 2 "Jones" after the New Orleans case with Will was over JJ gave Will her phone number on her own free will. Nobody forced her to do it! In Season 3 JJ was embarrassed to openly say she was falling in love with Will in Miami but Emily gave her a gentle push into doing so. Plus Emily and all of the profilers already knew anyway! And JJ was uncomfortable with her first pregnancy with Henry because getting pregnant wasn't part of her original plans. In Season 3's New York finale a lot of people think Will had forced JJ to tell the team that she was pregnant. But remember, Will had lost his father in Hurricane Katrina and he just didn't want to lose any more family to senseless violence even though JJ wasn't officially his wife yet. And right after that Hotch and Kate Joyner had endured a car bomb! But if that was JJ instead, that would have been really bad! I think that was also the reason why when JJ miscarried her second baby in Afghanistan she never told Will she was even pregnant again. As for the Season 7 wedding, yes, Will and Rossi excluded JJ from making any wedding plans and gave her a surprise wedding with her mom and the whole BAU family invited to Rossi's mansion but when JJ arrived and found out the surprise she didn't pull a "runaway bride," she put on her mom's wedding dress and said "I do!" Will was very patient in waiting for four years for JJ to finally say "Yes" to his marriage proposal. In Season 11 after JJ gave birth to Michael she was on the phone with Hotch while holding little Michael and you could see her just falling in love with that little bundle of joy. Henry and Michael had taught JJ what motherly love is. As for JJ always loving Reid, like I said she was afraid to love at all in the beginning but she did love Reid before she even met Will. All of the times that JJ worried about Reid told me that. She just never said it verbally until this "Truth or dare" unsub forced her to say it. JJ spent all 14 seasons of Criminal Minds learning how to love in so many ways. I don't think JJ is a two-timing monster who wants to intentionally hurt Will or Reid with her feelings. I think JJ is simply human.

Kiki Terhune I’m very curious as to how it’s all going to play out. On one hand, why bring it up at all if they weren’t endgame? At the same time, it could just be a way to give Reid some closure to officially “get over” JJ and be able to fully invest in a new relationship. I’m excited to see what’s in store! The big suspicion I have against Jeid happening is the fact that they only have 10 eps to finish the whole show. The fact that I feel possibly supports Jeid is the fact that they literally announced Reid’s new love interest within days of the finale. I just think they should’ve gotten together in the beginning or not at all. She could’ve said something a while ago and she didn’t. She almost broke up with Will in that one episode, and she made the decision to get back together with him. SHE made that decision. Now she has to live with it. She shouldn’t have said that. It was disrespectful to her husband and kids. If she did try to get with him after getting married and having two kids that’s just WRONG. You don’t just divorce someone and mess up your kids lives because you have repressed feelings for someone. Her kids would resent her for it. A reminder to you all. Her kids see Spencer as an Uncle figure, and they would hate him and resent him for breaking up their parents. I personally think they were better off as friends. I think them as friends is much better. I think they are much better as platonic soulmates. They absolutely should not get together now. I’m glad they didn’t. The writers intentionally kept JJ's answer undetermined to gauze fan reaction. And after the backlash it got, I have a strong feeling that this is how they're gonna explain JJ's silence: 'I really was bluffing. It was a pretty heavy thing I said back there so of course it was awkward at first, and later, seeing Reid be all serious and even hopeful, asking 'Did you mean it?' like that, I realized that he might have always had feelings for me and I felt too guilty, I felt bad that I got his hopes up. So I didn't know what to say.' At least that's going to be her explanation. If the writers take the risk, they can play it like she's lying here too, I'm not sure. Either way, she's gonna let Reid down gently ('cause like you said, let's get real. Willfer isn't gonna break up). Reid is gonna be like, 'Of course.' They're gonna hug. JJ will leave. Possible longing stare+ sad smile from Reid, not more than that. Later Reid will say he's leaving the BAU for full time professorship. About whether or not they're in love, yes. I've followed all seasons of CM but I started shipping Jeid after 12X21 (Green Light), that hug at the prison alone literally convinced me that there might be something here, the chemistry was so palpable. It is possible to love someone but bury it because it wouldn't work or the timing has never been right. It is possible to lock those feelings in a box and continue having a genuine friendship with them. It's not like whenever Reid sees JJ his mind launches into romantic tangents or JJ looks at Will and thinks 'Why did I marry this mofo, gotta replace him with Spence ASAP'. It's possible for her to be genuinely love Will- a solid, kind-and-considerate, working partnership; and genuinely love Spencer- the best friend who is a part of her, the quiet but forever present what-if at the back of her mind. The kind of job they work, the kind of closeness they have, who knows when the line starts blurring? Life isn't black and white. Love is complicated. And in a life and death situation when JJ thought she was saying her last words, and no one but Spencer was there to hear them (no one who mattered, anyway) can you blame her for acknowledging the truth? JJ and Reid won't be together, but I loved the episode, and I loved that the show finally gave Jeid shippers something.

Okay so I looked through the comments to see everyone loving the two of them together. However, I disagree with that. I accept that Reid had a crush on her in Season 1 (maybe 2) and possibly JJ had a crush on him too for a while. But to me, their relationship changed into a more older sister and younger brother dynamic. Yeah, sure, there were awkward, cringy glances to each other in episodes throughout the season (which were so forced Jesus Christ) but I definitely don’t think they should be together.
