If the Faroe islands are immoral?...Prince Andrew is looking for something to do over Christmas...I nominate Lewis to invite him over.

The Chinese have some questionable human and animal rights practices. Wet markets, for example. Are we boycotting them?

This is a problem with social media, they attacked Lewis Goodall because they knew it would highlight the issue. They should be be attacking the government, the guest's problem was clearly with government policy. Lewis is quite right to point out the hypocrisy here, Japan and China both have an appalling animal rights record, but we don't attack people for travelling to those places. So should we bully the Faroe Islands, because we can actually hurt their economy?

Why go all the way to the Faroes? How about the Shetland or Orkneys?

An ethical trade policy from Truss? Come on.

I get and agree with the criticism of the practice, it’s awful. I also get the argument that as a massive trade partner by share we have a unique ability to assert influence on the Faroes compared to say Japan. I also get Lewis’ correct pointing out of the absolute double standard and I tend to agree with him. This is a matter for governments to negotiate over and not on someone wanting to go on holiday somewhere. Humans are brilliant and awful all over the world. Travel, explore but also be mindful of the flaws of wherever you go.

You could go to Japan....

I found this a little embarrassing to watch. Lewis felt like a first year philosophy student that had just discovered nihilism. For right or wrong (I’d say wrong) Norway and Japan aren’t whaling just to leave the whales rotting on beaches. It’s not apples and apples. If you’re fine with going on holiday there that’s fine. There’s no need to do a weird song and dance to justify it.

Where in the world is this argument coming from that we are leaving the carcasses rotting on the beaches, throwing the majority of the meat away? Not even the Sea Shepherd, the organisation most vehemently opposed to the practice and which has a long track record of telling half-truths to further their agenda makes this argument anymore as it is categorically incorrect. It's a brazen lie to demonise the Faroese, along with the random claim domestic violence is common in the Isles? It's shocking how much horseshit this guy can spout without being called out on any of it.

I don’t think I have seen Lewis Goodall conduct an interview before now in such a biased fashion or with such a closed mind. Talking over a guest and interrupting with new questions when the last answer is only half way through make me think his motivation for this piece was not to explore the issue as a journalist but to justify his own personal stance and defend against the robust criticism he has received. Journalistic failure?

The guy he is interviewing is lying through his teeth, so what knowledge is there to gain from listening to him?

Personally I don't really care what Lewis does. I do wonder why her chose the Faroe islands and why he chose to tell us?!........self-publicity I'm guessing.

Just to pause as well (I like the guys chat) but if you do bring up Halal/Kosher and it's not great slaughter if you are kidding yourself it's much better than generic UK slaughter might need to look into that.

Lewis your wrong - giving a discussion to this abuse and trying to normalize this is wrong!
