I always thought that one shot should not capable of taking out an MG team. As a former A gunner on a crew served weapon team I can tell you my B gunner would just keep shooting after my death.... And I know that other men would pick up that weapon after his death you are not going to eliminate an MG in a unit by killing one man...Besides why cant Fritz pick up the Panzerfaust that Earnst dropped when he was shot? Break Break.. Yes I will be fielding snipers they have their uses.

@dariostabletopbastelecke4846 While you're correct, another member of the team would just pick up the weapon and use it. They might not be as proficient, and then we'd have to remember who got shot in what team and modifiers, etc.. I believe they did this to streamline the process.

Sniper targeting order, command, communications, control, heavy weapons.

Put arty spotter high on that list. Even higher if it's a nebelwerfer spotter.

Looks at title and remembers the sniper my opponent brought in our last game, nah it looks so juicy now, kinda like the special bolter rounds deathwatch or sniper units for the Imperium had in 9th.

So it seems that Germany just completely negates the usefulness of the sniper. You kill the german NCO and on a 2+ someone else just takes his place. The only unit thst really fears the sniper is platoon commanders or higher officers. Am i understanding this correctly?

I heard they're adding pre measuring to the game... Is that accurate? I really hope not...

The wording in the sniper rules seem to indicate that there should NOT be premeasuring. Specifically mentioning that if they choose to use the scope and then discover that the enemy is within 12 inches, it misses automatically. If there was premeasuring, you'd already know before you fired/chose your weapon.

Other rules, like in the shooting phase post, list specifically choose target then measure range.

I remember in older editions of 40k you had to guess the range when dropping you artillery/mortar pie plates. 1st turn was dialing in the ranges then firing for effect the rest of the game. That was fun times.
