Ben, great video! Almost everyone compares the Xpulse to the Himalayan, but a lightweight dual sport bike and an Adventure tourer are not comparable. Both are really distinct. The Xpulse is an excellent trail and enduro bike. I've been riding it on trails and mx tracks for over a year. It is a serious woods/trail bike, not a highway cruiser. I've dropped it quite a few times on the trails, and because it's a Hero motocorp bike, replacing parts isn't too expensive. Cheap spare parts are a blessing for dedicated offroad riders, and the bike's reduced weight makes it ideal for technical enduro riding. I ride with motocross/rally guys, and they all prefer the Xpulse and the Impulse over the Himmy. If you're into adventure riding, get a Himalayan it's an excellent Adventure tourer. But if you wanna get into motorsports such as motocross/enduro/rally, get an Xpulse or an Impulse. The weight really matters.

Finally someone told this in the mainstream , I really appreciate and agree on your opinions . I've been owning a BS6 2021 Himalayan , you're absolutely right - "HImalayan really teaches you how to be a better rider , with the costs being dropping the bike , but once you get the hang of it , you'll love the Himalayan"

If touring( without pillion) to ladakh,North East or Nepal during the monsoons xpulse is the one to go for, reliable, fuel efficient and very nimble.

I have a Thunderbird 350x. I want to switch to an Adventure bike. I am confused which one to pick, I have heard that Himalayan BS6 is far less reliable. Could you please help me here.

Xpulse learning curve starts when you real Motocross, not your weekend trails... Plus your Himalayan torque is so much easier for throttle clutch control whereas that takes a long time to master with the xpulse..
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN Жыл бұрын
yes i agree 100%, but if you were to take the himalayan to the same motocross trails, then you learn how much of a nightmare the 200 kg machine is . weight management over technical terrian is anyday is a more difficult learning curve than throttle/clutch control.

I would prefer xpulse over Himalayan for a lot of reasons. - light weight hence faster breaking (a big factor for me since my normal pace of riding is way above average) - more milage. Yes matters doing Himalayas - easier to handle and inspires highs speed riding in twisties - more reliable than its counterpart - lower risk of injury during a crash - can be quickly modded in a day to convert it from a long range tourer to absolute fun offroad machine (excellent ralley kit addition) - lesser vibrations and easier to ride longer - easier on the pocket with spares - costs so less than a Himalayan Disadvantage of an xpulse - You have a pillion with luggage, rear suspension bottoms out pretty quick - high raise silencer although good for dirt riding scenario, can be a pain to mount saddle bags and for pillion to get off or get into the bike - ride height. Again, It's a double edged sword The only advantage I see in Himalayan is it can carry some serious luggage with a pillon without its suspension crying for help. Ooh also from dead stop to climbing a terrain is easier than xpulse with its amazing lower end torque.

Ben not many options to compare the xpulse as the Himalayan is the only closest contender in vfm range. The Honda series.. putting an x to a street model doesn't make it adventure ready. 😁. Xpulse and it's suspension my god. I took a winding corner at 60 with considerable mean on a badly patched stretch and didn't feel a thing. This thing is the equivalent of a 'trophy truck' There's nothing called bad roads. But you do feel it to some extent in the Himalayan. The 4v is supposed to make the highway cruising a bit better. Only managed to get my hands on a 2v and that itself had me grinning right from when i started my first trip via city traffic and then hitting the highway. 90 felt like what the bike (2v) can do all day long fuss free. Now I'm wondering whether to wait for the 450 or settle for 4v.

to b fair as a xp200 rider its kind of failed though himalayan proved itself to b a proper adv but xp could have been better ..my only problem is weight though .. 135 would have been better with proper slimmer seat like crf 230 klx 230 se klx 140 xr 190 150 xtz 150 .. hero could have pushed impulse heritage rather pushing every corner econmy seating comfort budget and creating master of none motrcyle its fun but not for long and .. i dont know wy tvs doesnt sell their rtr 200 310 fx models ..those engines r not dirt bike engines only 450 one that came from sherco

I think the Xpulse has better built quality than the Himalayan. I've seen pictures of the Himalayan split in two pieces due to poor welding. I'm yet to see a hero Xpulse Broken in pieces by itself on the road.
