By now you know when it comes to polyphenols, I’m a BIG fan. I’ve written about the power of polyphenols for health since my very first Paradox book, and five years later, I’m only more convinced of the importance of loading up your diet with polyphenol-rich food for longevity and healthy weight.
Why am I crazy about polyphenols? They’re amazing plant compounds that feed friendly bacteria, boost your body’s natural ability to lose unnecessary weight, and change your gut microbiome for the better.
That’s why in today’s episode, I share the newest, cutting-edge information about polyphenols and debunk common polyphenol misconceptions in order to help you lead your healthiest, happiest life.
I also invite you to celebrate the amazing benefits of polyphenols with me on July 11th, National Polyphenol Day - which is also my birthday! I hope you’ll join me by doing a shot of olive oil with me and sharing it on your social channels! / gundrymd
On this episode you’ll learn:
* The surprising way polyphenols can help protect YOU from environmental stressors
* What all great winemakers have known about polyphenols for quite some time (and the grapes with the most potent properties)
* The truth behind my love for olive oil (and my special trick for testing the quality and potency of your olive oil)
* What we’ve gotten wrong about polyphenols all this time (and why they’re even MORE powerful than we believed)
* The common polyphenol misconceptions that are absolutely WRONG - and the exciting new findings that prove their benefits on your gut
* What happened when this blue zone ate THIS for 85% of their diet - and why the color of your food matters
Dr G’s favorite polyphenol-rich beverages!
* Why I say “the more bitter, the more better” when it comes to vegetable - and some of the most beneficial for your health
* The chocolate you should absolutely AVOID (and the polyphenol-packed chocolates that can actually support your health)
* Why big corporate chocolate companies have actually ADDED polyphenols back into their chocolate
* How to read a wine label for maximum health benefits (and my favorite wine companies you should try)
The polyphenol-rich foods that I actually do NOT recommend and why

Dr. Grundy, Happy Birthday on July 11, 2022, more Birthday to come. The world needs more people like you. You are a gift for Humanity. Thank you for all the educational knowledge you shared in your all videos, I am trying to listen in all your you tube videos and podcast. For me you are the best, I always forward your website to friends, relatives, here in Canada, Asia, some friends in the Middle East. Holistic Doctors from Vitality Magazine are also reading your articles, have just read one who quoted your name, and show it to my mom, and I always watch your show in channel 61 here in Canada even if it is a replay. Need to appear in TV again - long time waiting for your appearance. Speaking of Polyphenols "How about bitter melon?" We eat the leaves and the fruits, Does it have lectins- Japanese called it Goya. "Thank you again Dr.Grundy and Happy Birthday!

Well the reality here is that you and Dr. Saladino totally agree on the benefits of polyphenols. But the difference in opinion is that Saladino believes that they only have short terms effects which can be all be duplicated through exercise, heat & cold exposure, etc... so to a person who is already inducing physical mechanisms of adaptive stress, there's no additional benefit or reason to eat plants at all. And he's cited dozens of studies to back this up so I'm inclined to agree!

Is it thrombocytes you are referring to? I got that elevated aswell and i have been keto for 12 months 40kg lighter. My doc says it is due to an infection that had occured cause it is now lower than it was 3 months ago, but still elevated. Worst case it is cancer, but i suspect that it has to do with keto like higher ldl also is seen when your mitochondria is starting to run on fat. But i am so god damn curious and pubmed is not saying much because of lack of research on keto and the effect on thrombocytes produced. If anyone is on keto and also have high thrombocytes count, let me know. Also if you got normal or low count while being eating keto.

The animals are the only species that have evolved to eat plants and a lot of them had to die to evolve into a plant diet. You can go the animal route if you want but your offspring's offspring will suffer . It is my opinion that the sapient species is not one of those species that is supposed to evolve into a plant diet at all. Like the Cats Dogs Meat eating Fish Birds etc. All of those life forms that feed off meat thrive longer than those species that dont. Once the water is gone the plant eaters stop thriving while the meat eaters continue to thrive little longer . Of course H20 is Primary to even GOD

@@mymelody4581 I dont want to eat animals either. I tried and my health got real bad so did my mental health . We need the animal fats and amines more than you realize, of course we can "survive" of plants , dont expect to "thrive" in any way , at least not this generation or the next , it took the animals thousands of generations to evolve and produce multiple stomachs to deal with all those tannins and lectins and histamine and carbs sugars which are the most toxic of all of them , not to mention oxalate which literally burns holes in your stomach just like the lectins. meat only has the Histamine
@mykedoes4099
@mykedoes4099 2 жыл бұрын
@@mymelody4581 Go threw life with out a single egg if you want , I cant do it cause my brain and body start to crumble and oh so slowly and subtly , i recently tried carnivore and i eat less meat now than when i was eating both plants and animals, so in a sense avoiding plants has given my stomach more ability to properly nitrify. Fat is the best way to hydrate , better than water believe it or not its true . One thing is for sure , there are no shortage of crazy people walking around, and they all have some type of sugar coming in daily , i know i was one of those crazy people , i quit sugar except for bread and corn flakes , and i can clearly tell how the bread is hampering my performance. I also have more muscle definition and tone with great weight control. It is clear to me the meat has the proper amines and mineral ratio especially potassium and sodium that is required for the body to produce healthy levels of hormones. For sure the Plant toxins are screwing the hormones up the wazoo! GL on your quest for it is an honorable one
