Dear Dr. Gundry, I want to leave this comment here with the sole purpose of saying thanks for all the work you're doing. I'm sure millions of people all over the world have already benefited from the information you're sharing with us to get healthier and happier, and, no doubt, even more will follow their steps. Thank you for having curiosity to get to the very bottom of most complicated issues, for having courage to stand against corporate propaganda, and for simply being what every doctor on Earth should aspire to be. God bless you, your family, and your friends!

Nothing irritates me more that ad that ask you to watch a video that you cannot fast forward but it goes on forever and does not tell you how long it rambles on. Who on earth has time for that. Dr. Gundry is the worst offender. If he published his diatribes in text, I might be interested. I am writing this here in the hope the message gets to him, because he clearly is not interested in opinions and like to hear himself talk. dr. gundry, please just shut up.

Dr. Gundry-- Thank you so much for the service you provide to the public! I followed a traditional keto diet except with plenty of vegetables and intermittent fasting for a year and lost 70 pounds, but then I started a more physically involved job and found it hard to be satiated after meals. I also would come home from work ravenous! So I started following your version of the keto diet, eliminating lectin-containing foods and adding a moderate amount of resistant starches, and my hunger is gone! I even lost a few more pounds! So thank you, thank you, thank you for your work. I've read your books, and I think you've hit upon what so many doctors and nutritionists are claiming to have found: The proper human diet. You really have redefined what "moderation" and being sensible about our eating patterns means. So again, thank you!

Wish I found him sooner in my years LOL . Started listening to Dr G last July 2021 and lost 27 pounds in 6 months just by switching the so called good food I was eating. Carrots, Fruit, Squash, Bread ( once and awhile I ate it bread) etc., and always had a hard time maintaining my weight, which never made sense to me. I was a good eater , or so I thought Ha! Thanks Dr G. Keep doing what your doing .

This is a great podcast! Thank you for all this info. I’m sharing it with family and friends. Towards the end, you said if we have any health questions, to put them in the comments. I have a condition called Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE), which has caused my esophagus to narrow considerably, due to thickening of the walls of the esophagus. It causes food to get caught in my esophagus. I have had blood tests and have a long list of foods, which I test sensitive to and which cause the EoE. Most recently I tested sensitive to wheat, egg whites, carrots and peanuts. My list is so long, there isn’t much I can eat anymore. In some cases it is not a bad thing, because some of my favorite foods are high in lectins. If I eat foods on my list (especially rice and wheat), the esophageal sphincter muscle spasms and my esophagus fills with food as I eat and swallow. My first episode was about 40 years ago. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I have ended up in the ER getting an EGD, to open things up. I wasn’t diagnosed with EoE until about 11 years ago. So, my question is: Are you aware of a way to minimize or reverse the extreme thickening of the walls of my esophagus with white (eosinophilic) tissue?

Dr Gundry: You've said that beans need to be cooked in a pressure cooker to destroy the lectins. My questions is: Can a Dutch Oven work as well as a pressure cooker in doing this? I make vegetable soups with lots of vegetables and I use to include lentils but now I am not sure if this is effective in bypassing the negative effects of lectin. Also, my soups include kale. Any thoughts?

Just stumbled upon you via a sponsored FB ad, which I normally don't watch, but intuition said 'oh, go on, watch this one'. Brilliant info, so now am watching more of your video's. Great stuff. Only prompted to leave this comment to include the additional reason to not eat many of those foods you discuss whilst in your peanut-suit are the Food Coloring's. Two decades ago, our son had severe Tourette's symptoms, a neurologist prescribed meds for. I went down a rabbit hole of researching Tourette's and Diet, and learned Red40 can trigger symptoms, so we cut out Red40 entirely and his symptoms went away. No meds needed. What was shocking is how many grocery foods have food coloring. Even the fresh baked cherry pie in the bakery had Red40 on the label. Marinara Sauce had Red40. It's in so much. Well, that's when we went to fresh foods only, I just started making it all from scratch. We did move to England for many years where those poison food coloring's are banned, and food, in general, seemed better quality, but we're back in the states where colorful foods/drinks are on every shelf. Our children came home from their new school with blue tongues thanks to Dum-Dum pops the teachers gave out as rewards :( I now not only make everything from scratch but also grow and raise it myself as well and the children went to homeschooling so no more blue tongues. Perhaps Schools should include Food Science in their curriculum so children grow up eating, or at least knowing, better.

Hi Steve, I'm a tea lover too. For me, I prefer green tea in the morning as the caffeine content. I'm not a big fan of high tannin tea ,such as black tea and oolong. They're too strong and they stains teeth. (My dentist told me to sip water after drinking tea). Turmeric tea and other herbal tea are great for evening. Different types of tea have different benefits. The most important things are NOT to put extra sweeteners and/ or dairy to the tea and Not drink them TOO hot. Rooibos tea is healthy too. 🍵

The American food industry puts sugar in everything. People become desensitized to the sweetness over time, as it wrecks your body. You just did a reset and learned the truth. @@tommyortiz6623Many years ago I went 3 weeks with nothing but water--and smoking cigarettes unfortunately--but it was a 30 day program. Days before to prepare & days after to break the fast. Began with loads of apples; then ended with frozen grape juice ice cubes, a little banana, and gradual veggies. I now figure Dr. Gundry would never approve. But I'm just saying, once you make up your mind to do it, you do it, and it's really not hard. I do remember missing flavor, so I would enjoy smelling food and imagining eating it; that was enough to satisfy me. The first couple days you do get hungry, but then hunger actually goes away & it's just a matter of staying calm & pacing yourself through each day & night, with your eye in the goal. We have no health issues as of right now but I do not want to die of heart disease in my 50s like some of my family members. My question is how do you know you are restoring your good gut buddies?

From what he has talked about & what I've read is you have smooth digestion & elimination, little to no gas or bloating or inflammation & little to no skin problems etc. & you feel more energy & less irritability overall. 💙

This is true. I was on day 2 of a 3 day fast when I got a positive covid test. On my 3rd day of the 3 day fast, I had significantly less covid symptoms than my husband and children and sister. They all lost their senses of smell on the 4th day of knowing we had covid. I still had mine. They lost their sense of smell and taste for 2 weeks during the quarantine. I lost it for only 4 to 5 days. While I was seemingly feeling normal and experiencing minimal symptoms, my sister was feeling like she was healing from getting hit by a truck. There is something behind our bodies that knows what it's doing when there's no food around-- it's a means of survival and rejuvenation at the same time for longevity. Amazing, our bodies are phenomenal

Anna it is interesting that your story is similar to my Covid Story and I also fast. My lost of smell and taste only lasted 24 hr, my husband and rest of the family for it baldly. Indeed fasting had help me to become more energetic.

I cut sugar out of our (mine and my wife's) diet almost completely. It is in foods we eat if we eat out, but I don't have sugar in the house, and I do the cooking. I started learning keto and IF a couple years ago because my wife was in the hospital for a second time. The first time, they said she might go blind. The second time, she almost did not come home.. Did you guess Type II Diabetes? You win the prize! Well, I started using her cast iron (I told her on the telephone before returning home that she just gave me the cast iron set she got for Christmas) and researching...well, everything. The thing I am making this comment to share is the fact that I started making recipes for things that called for sugar, but I did not add it. Now she cannot stand to eat any other Ranch dressing than mine! I make my own mayonnaise, and then make my own ranch dressing using it. I have noticed that sugar is literally not needed for taste if you are cooking with real ingredients. Also, I learned how grandma put the love into her food (not mine, but all "grandmas" that cook). Low and slow is the way to go. While a pork roast may take two hours to cook, mine take 8 or more hours to get done right. Not only does the food come out better, you almost cannot burn food cooking low and slow. Time is the secret ingredient that puts the love into food. Time. The great asset. The asset at the root of all assets. Spending time on someone is love. It is literally you giving your life for them, because your life is your time and energy.

😊 My husband bought me several Le Creuset cast iron pots and pans. Cooking real food.... grown/raised by real Farmers/Ranchers.... with low and slow cooking has completely changed the quality of my cooking. My husband and children say that I cook better than restaurants!!! And, its true.... my food has zero sugar added.... The correct amount of Salt and fats. I started growing my own tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic and basil.... I make all of our sauces needed. Its fun!😊

@@ltlwlwl5057 My wife and I both agree that our cooking (yours and mine) is unmatched in any restaurant. My favorite part is that low and slow cooking tastes like you put a whole lot more work into it, but you actually end up putting almost no work into it. Time is your employee! I have not had success with peppers or tomatoes, but I crossed my 2 year mark July 11th, so... I am planting a lot of pepper plants from seed today. I'm in Tucson, Arizona, so they should do fine. I do have 2 tomato varieties planted (maybe ten plants?) that may yet turn into something amazing, if we can just get through our monsoonless heat wave. LOL

I was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis, probably due to a lack of exercise and past over-consumption of bad foods. Please Dr. Gundry, could you address osteoporosis in a future video? Is it true that I now need to avoid oxalates, coffee, tea, chocolate, salt, and a host of other foods because they cause me to "pee out my bones" as others say? I'm strictly following all of the guidelines outlined in your books and anxiously awaiting the arrival of Breaking the Keto Code. Thank you for these amazing videos.
