LOVE THESE BAITS. Julius told me about just lightly flipping the bait on the bottom from side to side = GAME CHANGER!!! Thanks again for a great day on the water.

I can’t believe nobody has talked about using a spinning rod for 1/4 oz blades 🔥 Braid to a long leader on my 6ft 8in med light fast Legend is my favorite for a light blade bait! It definitely helps keep the fish pinned a lot better ...My buddy uses a stiffer rod and looses a lot of fish that way ! Anyway great video guys🔥🎣 I’ll have to pick a new blade up now hahah

Yes! Found another use for my Expride jerk bait rod! 6’10” medium should work great for blades!

More quality info being thrown around. Just a thought on rod length. I am a short dude and tried all kinds longer rods but found all my most used/ loved rods where under 7 foot and the top one being 6'8". After looking thru all the Megabass rod lines they seem to favor shorter rods too
@Roboworm994 жыл бұрын
Yup Japanese anglers are bringing them back into popularity
@dennishodson9904 жыл бұрын
Longer rod keeps line out of trolling motor when you get tuned in on livescope and get distracted. That trolling motor bite will be the biggest one you'll have all day and possibly break you're rod tip on that Loomis!!

Great info. Just started really leaning on this presentation this fall and absolutely crushed some big smallmouth in deep water. Had my best results with the Megabass Dyna Response but didn’t have a giant bust the stock snap. Surprised how rarely the treble hooks snagged bottom. Keep the videos coming.

Excellent point about rod length. I feel I’ve always done better and more in control with shorter rods especially with Texas Rigged or Jigs. Starting back in the day using 5’6” pistol grip rods may also influence my technique and preferences.

I HAVE to get some of these, another one is the jackall keeburn... I think the have another blade bait as well. Anyway, I’ve been using lipless cranks to do this for a while because I don’t have any... the jackall TN and lucky craft LV500 and the megabass vibration lipless are all pretty good at this technique... tried out the Walmart brand lipless as a $2 option and turns out because it’s so cheap it’s different and the fish eat it... caught a massive white bass 4 1/2 Ibs, N.C. State record is 5 something... it just works for some reason... tho the jdm stuff is cooler... the raid Japan level vibe is another Japanese option that u guys should try if u haven’t already!

Great video guys and very helpful. Couple of questions. 1) How seasonal would you consider this technique? I know Hippie said that he likes it as a cold water technique. Is there a preferred range of water temperature you like to throw the blade bait in? 2) What kind of strikes can we typically expect on this bait with the short hops? Is sensitivity a big factor? The short rods seem to make sense as I would think reaction strikes would be quick but that the fish would be tempted to spit the bait quick since it is metal? Or am I wrong? Finally, do you have any colors you find that are stand outs for the Phoenix area lakes? others on the Phoenix area lakes? Thanks again for the great info guys and also for explaining why you utilize the options you prefer.

That's funny. To me the megabass is much tighter & more subtle than others & up here in Cali I've had great success with the slow hop vs the retrieve.

How do you make contact with bottom without losing it? I don't mind losing lures( it happens) but blade baits are practically disposable fishing over a rip rap bottom. Maybe I need to fish it more vertical rather than pulling it at an angle? Idk. Losing $10 every 5 +/- casts has a negative affect on my confidence.
@bayardlohmiller97853 жыл бұрын
Plug knockers are a must when fishing expensive blades, I just use 2 or 3 oz salt water sinkers and put a snap on it, get directly over it, snap it on the line that's stuck (I have the sinker tied on a little ice fishing jig rod with braid) and drop it down. If you keep a bend in the rod that's stuck you'll feel the weight hit it and you're usually free, if not you can jig the weight up and down to try to knock it free, I probably get more than 80% back

Sweet video! Thank you very much! And for the first time ever, someone suggests my Poison Adrena 172M for something specific, ha! I love that rod! Question is what else would you recommend that rod for? I’ve paired it to the new Metanium and have been throwing 2.8 Keitechs primarily. The hookup is awesome!

It’s also the worlds most snagged bait in the face of the earth I throw cincy fisher. Because I know where I’m fishing I’m loosing about 50 to 60 in a winter but I’m also having 100 fish days so I don’t care it’s a price I’ll pay..... but I’m hesitant to buy more expensive ones because I know they will be sacrificed to the snagged gods lol
