Just wanted to add my 2 cents. Toe spreaders changed my life. From 18-24 I suffered from horrible plantar fasciitis (inflammation of the tissue on the bottom of the foot). I went to many different podiatrists and they all prescribed me expensive treatments like orthotics and cortisone shots. Turns out my toes were just slightly squished together from years of wearing narrow shoes. The squished toes cut off circulation to certain areas of my feet which prevented my body from healing the inflamed tissue. Its quite simple actually, modern footwear isn't in the shape of human feet.
@4kdefinition702 жыл бұрын
It makes 100% sense most people have been walking around in toe squishing shoes for decades. sure your can go to bare foot free shoes but how to reverse the years of compression, you figured it out and it helped you.

You can pretty much look at your feet and know whether or not you need toe spacers right? It doesn’t sound like you should be using these tools if you don’t have any problems to begin with.

I personally only use them as a recovery tool for only about 30 minutes whenever I feel I need to. They're great for relieving tension/soreness, especially as someone who does alot of long distance running. Also, if you work a laborious job where you're on your feet the entire time they work wonders lol

Toe spacers worked for me for a while, but it's always been more comfortable just putting my fingers between my toes to spread them out. Then, I can add more pressure as I go. If you really want your toes to stay spread out, you won't get there with toe spacers alone. You need to recognize that they are in the position they are in due to an uneven length/tightness and weakness of the muscles and tendons. When you live in tight shoes, your toes are unevenly aligned, and weak because they can't move or work out. The best way to strengthen and stretch out your toes is by using principles from yoga and physical therapy. You want to slowly stretch your toe tendons in every direction, right up to where it's uncomfortable, tense and relax your toe muscles, and try to counteract your fingers. You want to do this daily, and just keep pushing your toes barely past where it feels comfortable, to really target the tendons and muscles to lengthen, strengthen, and remove tension. You will feel a burn, and just hold it there, fire your toe muscles, and then let off. Do this enough, and you will see improvement where your toes will eventually be spread out nicely, and they will feel amazing, being in a more correct anatomical alignment. That said, toe spacers are still great to wear in your shoes maybe, or in bed, so that you can keep coaxing your toes to splay, but only wear them to bed if you can wear them a long time without pain.

there are certain toe spreads where you can change the position of them so it spreads the toes out more or less, depending on what you are looking for. i find myself spreading them the most, for the maximum stretch. 30 mins at lunch time and 1 hr before bed.

I have the same toe spreaders you are advertising in your thumbnail. I can’t wear either of those for a long time without causing some discomfort. They aren’t designed to wear with wide toe box shoes, but they’re okay when your sitting down watching tv. Correct toe spacers are brilliant, they help to splay my toes while wearing toe socks and wide toe box shoes with zero drop. Yes I agree, toe spacers won’t solve foot problems if you aren’t massaging your feet, ankles and calf muscles to increase blood flow and circulation and flexibility. Strengthening our feet, ankles, calf muscles and glutes are necessary as well. Neither solution on its own will solve your foot problems but rather a combination of things to help. Earth runners has some good accessories to help strengthen and mobilise foot, ankle and calf muscles but it requires daily effort.

I was trying to buy vivo here from brazil, but the conversion makes it cost more then one thousand reais (R$). As I don't get paid in dollars it's almost the same as being charged one thousand dollars for you guys. Even worse then that is the taxes that could make the shoes cost me like 1350 reais. But luckily there is a brazilian brand that is making barefoot shoes. They are called FOT - Feet of Tomorrow. And they cost between 260-400 reais with taxes. Still not cheap, but I think it's worthy the price.

Bought some cheap ones, after a minute of wearing them I forgot why I bought them, or why I am even supposed to use them. I just added them to my cart after seeing some insta post. A ddg search of "ATG toe spreaders" brought me here. Sub'd.
@kamuishortsgamer3728 Жыл бұрын
The opinion is partially correct. You shouldn't wear them for hours on end immediately, you should take time and build your toes back to their normal spread out ways. But where he's wrong is 1. Any beneficial spacer site literally tells you to do that. 30 minutes a day for starters or less. 2. "If your feet look like that, they are like that" no they're not.

toe spreaders and merrell vapor gloves completely changed my foot health. doctors said i needed 2 surgeries to correct issues. i self-corrected the problems with the toe spreaders and barefoot shoes. the podiatrist said he's never seen anything like this before. how can the medical community still be in denial about the benefits of barefoot walking and using various orthotics like toe spreaders or bunion splints? they always want to jump to cortisone injections and surgery. toe spreads and barefoot shoes have literally saved my life and allowed me to be mobile again, and get back in shape and lose weight

Love the topic! I got toe spreaders about a month ago because I saw how insanely cheap the unbranded ones were, and I put em on during my (barefoot) workouts and they make such a difference! I feel a stronger base and I could connect to my toes like never before Definitely appreciate the input by Graham too, my new course of action will probably be toe spreaders during workouts + manual intentional foot exercises other times
