Yes, 100% agree! I also think this audience is older (I don't mean old because I'm Kara's age but just not primarily really really young people) and wouldn't be the type to want to consume shorts over these traditional vlogs. I wouldn't want to see the channel change in that way!

Totally agree! I think this gen that grew up with KZbin and not shorts, tiktok or reels can pay attention to quality made long vids. Although the above is entertaining they have no depth to it. They are exactly what social media is and don’t show too much reality. KZbin I feel, gives you a bit more of that reality or maybe it’s just the people/things I watch 😅

I don't think you should worry about shorter content! Watching your 30min long videos is like watching a TV series and the more content you get the better. This was so fun to watch! And I'm with you, Kara! We went from being on the fence about kids to deciding we don't want kids... and that decision feels good! All I can say is it's okay to not be sure! And don't let others ever pressure you if your decision starts to lean towards 'no'... We had people who used to try to pressure us into having kids and they finally backed off!

I absolutely second this, my partner and I had the same pressures - I hated it when people would say "oh but you might feel different when you have one of your own" - you don't bring a kid into the world to see if it makes you change your mind about wanting kids!!! @@bigwideworld387 Exactly! Don't bring a life into this world just cause that is what everyone else does. I’ve traveled all over the world and eaten everything imaginable, from gourmet to simple street food. There may be dozens of books and movies about fancy French food but plop my butt down in Italy any day and you can find remarkable food. Italians not only make good food, they live it. From simple carbonara in a Rome lunch shop to a three hour long Sunday family style feast on a hillside in Positano, food is Italy. I speak only a smattering of Italian but I can order its food without thinking about it. A simply marvelous place on Earth in that respect.

I watch a LOT of travel vloggers. VERY often during a video my head goes, "oh... he left that camera there to film his walking along the path" or other ways that camera work and transitions are done that actually break up the flow of the "storytelling" by mentally poking the viewer in the eye. You two seem to NEVER do that. Your flow on camera - the angles, the close ups, the lighting - combined with your honesty, laughter and chemistry - and most importantly, the AMAZING editing - is absolutely seamless to the "story." Your videos are an absolute JOY to watch.

Every time I go on a vacation I bring a journal. Nice to write down what I saw that was amazing or how I felt. And then to read over the journals bring back memories.

I’ve been watching you two since you went to the Maldives, and watched every single video you’ve put out and this is the video that’s brought me closest to you. Like you’re real humans and not some magical ponies that I could never aspire to be. Thanks for being honest and raw 🥰

Nates apology was one of the first videos I saw and I thought people were so silly for being mad that I subbed 😂

I love these longer videos! Many times the short ones have left me wanting more…either more about what y’all are experiencing on that adventure or more about the place y’all are visiting. These longer videos are wonderful! Thank you!

Shorts are for the moments your just bored and want something funny to watch, longer videos are for the stimulation, and to take up time which everyone does in the evening

This is awesome! Two of my favorite KZbin couples. So cool to see them together! I’m glad to hear they are as authentic as they seem. I think they are amazing, interesting and entertaining people who are beautiful inside and out.

Oh my goodness! I hope you guys stay on KZbin for a LONG time! I so look forward to your videos! Maybe it's because I'm getting old too, but seriously love you guys! Major inspiration!

I get that you say “you lost enthusiasm for the 50 states goal” and “the videos performed poorly” but also remember that some of your viewers really enjoyed that and looked forward to seeing you finish. I love you guys and I’ll watch whatever you do but please remember that some of us follow your life and look forward to seeing you finish goals that we’ve put time into watching even if they don’t get 5 mill views like the bigger videos. ❤️

I know you decide which questions you answer, but I just want to say I really appreciate Kara’s vulnerability with the kids question. The stress in her voice was very clear, and I think a lot of women relate to what she said. But it is vulnerable to talk about growing a human inside of you. Thanks, Kara 💛

Thank you for being open and so refreshing. So glad you guys shared. P.S - YAY MENSTRUAL CUPS. They’re the best and I’ll never go back to disposable products ❤️

I'm so late to the greatness that is Kara and Nate, but I just want to pop in here to say you guys are absolutely amazing, and thank you for inspiring me to live my dream.

Do not have kids if you are not 100%, there is nothing wrong with waiting or not doing it at all. You can like kids and not want your own :)

I watch y’all’s videos almost like I would watch a show though. I love the long videos. I understand the fear of the fluctuations of KZbin and other platforms but I will definitely always love y’all’s videos.😊💜

I love the long vlogs and do not like the short quick videos. There is very little story telling with those short quick videos and when you have people like yourselves, Sailing La Vagabonde, Emon and Bec, who are such great story tellers then the longer content works best. You are all inspirations and thank you for sharing your adventures.

Let me just say right now. The longer your videos are, the better I like it, because that way, I know I’m going to taken on an amazing adventure. I don’t care for shorter videos from you guys at all because those are just “clips”. I don’t want that from your travels. I want the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Morph, but never 'change' what you do on KZbin. And if people disappear... then thanks, and good luck to them. You guys are real, inspiring and authentic. Thank you. If I could go back 20 years... ok, 25 years and do this, I'd be there too. As for kids, they absolutely integrate into this lifestyle easily for the first 4 to 5 years; then decide about school - do you want to 'teach' or parent. The best thing you can do is build a village around them no matter where you are; you already have that ♥. And... I have zero doubt that if you had to make shorter films, you'd synch it!

This one felt very real and honest, great job! Also, I agree on the vegetarian/vegan thing. If everyone ate a lot less meat, it would help resolve the climate, land and overfishing issues, and the general population would be a lot healthier. Don’t have to cut it out altogether, especially not all a once, that is not achievable by most people.

It's a shame that the 50 state challenge was canned. I really loved the videos about the people, e.g. the Columbian culture in new Jersey, and the crawfish family in Louisiana. I loved these more than the adventure videos from the states.

Because of your introduction I just finished watching all 350'ish SLV videos and they are truly amazing, that being said you Kara and Nate will always be my favorites, there's something about you two that is simply magical! Keep up the great content!
