I spend some of my free time helping ex-Muslims who converted to Christianity, because as you are well aware, Muslims can be aggressive towards converts, even violent. Even when they are not physically aggressive, I’ve helped two young ladies and a young man whose families essentially shunned them. One young lady was beaten by her father before being forced out of her home at the age of 16 with nothing but the clothes on her back. This was not in Saudi Arabia or Somalia, either, but in the US. I wonder how difficult it is for people such as yourself that may not be able to trust the secular authorities - if there even is any - when family or friends feel entitled to become aggressive or violent based on another’s beliefs or lack thereof.

@TheSpicyLeg I didn't convert to any faith. I have become more introverted and stayed out of trouble. That's how I'm gonna keep it. The only difficulty is dating. I know a lot of people don't believe much, but they go along with the practices because they don't wanna be separated from their families. I don't feel that way. An interesting facet of Christian Demonolgy is that the possessed are understood to have allowed in the spirit and participate with it. A perhaps tortured comparison can be seen in the case of Theoden and Wormtongue (book version, not as much the movie). The right to action is Theoden's alone as king; Wormtongue cannot compel or command directly, he can only offer poisoned counsel to Theoden, diminishing his hope and driving him to despair. This idea of taking responsibility for our own participation with evil spirits is unique, I believe, for it is predicated on the fact that we are not lesser than the spirits but are in fact the unique creations, Image-bearers.

@JaidynReiman22 күн бұрын
I do think some Christians put too much emphasis on demons though. Some Christians have this belief that if "satan" is bound, then there can't be evil in the world because nobody is out there to deceive the nations. The problem with this false belief is that people are naturally led into deception and can be deceived by other people or even themselves. This idea that we need "demons" to exist to deceive people and turn them away from God is just a denial of basic free will. Obviously I do think demons exist and can deceive people, but humans innately lead themselves and others into deception as well, no intermediary needed. Calvinism/determinism is also inherently a denial of basic responsibility, even though they continuously deny it. Calvinism states that God decreed everything. Just by that very definition you cannot in good faith argue we are responsible for our own actions.

If the clouds ever turn green, has nothing to do with leprechauns or wizard of oz memes. Green clouds mean the atmosphere is so twisted by air pressure that the auroraborialis is being seen mid day and the most unholy of solar wind powered tornados is about to rip everything you know to dust.

when your world view is "It is always their fault" then the world is kind of magical. nothing that you did causes anything. it is always being done to you, without your consent. Magic, Destiny, Karma, Satan, God's will. Having nothing you do cause harm or inconvenience is truly a "bless your heart" kind od thinking
