I am a 75 year old retired Law Engorgement Officer and I am still training every couple of days with my walking cane, knife, and drawing my weapon. I am prepared to use my tools and Pray I will never use it.

Train train train! Scenario based training is vital. The more you do anything the better you get. Once a year is just unacceptable and if I were the Pastor I’d require more. We train several hours twice a month, both in the classroom as well as at the range. We train everything from medical emergencies, troubled kids & adults, service disruptions, physical attacks hands, fists, knives and guns….. or whatever they decide to use against an innocent. We train to use the tools at hand so it’s good to hear you also mention using objects around you to fight. We teach descalation on trouble and disruptions but when it’s an attack you have to be by default aggressive. If we don’t train in these we become a potential liability rather than help. Wether a team has 1 or 20 each individual should be practicing what is taught during training from home. You can do nearly everything at home shy of putting lead down range from your living room or garage. Draw from holster, kinesthetic alignment, dry fire, trigger discipline, barrel discipline, shoot no shoot, clearing a jam, reloading….. that’s just gun….. blocking, attacking, throws, punches, controlling the attackers body, balance balance balance… tons and tons we can do

@@ChurchSecurityAnswers You've gained my interest. I pastor an old small country church. not all that long ago I was contacted by the local Police chief about a threat had been made that named our church and another church that i am friend's with the pastor. We were told a subject told on social media he was going to come "shoot up" our church service. So, that immediately got my attention. We are a very small church and don''t know why we were named as a target or my friends church. I told our church and took what actions we could with very little money to spend on security issues. We decided even to change where our vehicles were parked. Our church is very close to the highway. So we park our vehicles so that our front entrance doors are blocked by our vehicles and a large portable outdoor sign. To hopefully prevent a driveby shooting. We have large clear windows on the side that we used to open the blinds to allow a clear view. We now leave them closed all the way. Out pulpit is positioned so that I or our Sunday shcool superintendent can see thru the side of the blinds and view what's going on outside the church. So we are taking one step at a time. I'm also licensed concealed carry . We have horrible cell coverage in our area of the church. Everyone in the church has cell phones but not very good coverage and no internet available. I watch the security related videos and find them helpful. I have previous law enforcement experience also. Thank you for your videos. they are very helpful and I wish my deacons could watch them. I will recommend them to them.

What are common unarmed security weapons you can have?
@ChurchSecurityAnswers
@ChurchSecurityAnswers Жыл бұрын
Hey Judah, you might have to grab something laying around the church and improvise if something happens. There are many different sprays; mace, OC, etc. but if you are getting a spray, you still want to make sure you do some training, so you know how they work, how far they spray and how wide they spray, etc. then don't forget those things can affect the entire congregation if you were to spray them in the church. You also need to review your state laws to make sure of what will work as an unarmed weapon etc. Or check with your church's insurance advisor or attorney. Make sure you know exactly what you can do legally and what the insurance folks say is important also.

What recognition does your organization have that insurance or state agencies would recognize your certificates security team members acquire?
@ChurchSecurityAnswers
@ChurchSecurityAnswers 2 жыл бұрын
Our certificates are strictly training for your teams and for your operation. No other endorsements from any organization. Check with your insurance company, they will recognize pertinent training for discounts. But we do not have their specific endorsement ahead of time.
