He doesnt actually have any of the powers he is shown to have. The best explanation for his suite of powers is that he has god like telekinesis with no underatanding of what or how he's doing it. Air doesnt work that way, nor could the machine give multiple waves from one interference. Clark Kent doesnt know either of these things. He channels his intentions with his breath, and needles twich, fires are put out, and forests are uprooted, all with roughly the same amount of effort. If he intended it, that same puff of breath could have blown out the side of the building while leaving everyone standing in front of it unscathed.

The thing is that Superman frequently interacted with Lois, Perry and Jimmy. These people personally knew both Clark and Superman. Also, Dean Cain’s Superman was not too different from Clark in his mannerisms, posture and the way he talked. He basically had the same voice and the people he knew just couldn’t put two and two together? People on the street of NY may have been familiar with Henry Cavill’s Superman from the movie, but had never met the man in person, and also when you pass by random people on the street you don’t tend to pay much attention to them and how they look. So it’s very believable that he wouldn’t be recognized. Remember that Cavill was still not as well known an actor as other Hollywood stars.
