@ShawnStevenson your podcast initially helped me finally understand the importance of sleep. My partner is a diehard fan and i often jokingly refer to you as her boyfriend 😅 This episode is possibly one of the most helpful videos online that has helped our relationship. Thank-you so very much!

Very good topic Jay, we are so sensitive and so egocentric while love and care about each other should be smooth natural and full of trust, when there is no trust and ability to put yourself "mentally naked " and express your needs to other person knowing that they will be heard there is a very little chance to make a great relationship😢

"This is the rule of love: to have time with ourselves, to understand ourselves." - Shawn Stevenson I 💯 agree. Mark 12:31 says the second commandment is to love our neighbor as ourselves. So it is written, we are to love ourselves, FIRST. And to love ourselves-- to understand the intricacies of our mind, of our body, our spirit, we are to first spend time with the One who gave us the ability to do so; because the first commandment is this, "And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength" (Mark 12:30) "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." says Jeremiah 29:12-13 The road map has been there all along : ➡️Seek Him so that ➡️ we can love ourselves so that ➡️ we can love our neighbor as ourselves. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 He's a good good Father. And I believe we lost our way from the beginning. Unintentionally, many of our parents taught us that they were the ultimate authority, that they were the ceiling. They were only vessels that were called to model His goodness and guide us back to our Creator. Because the world will fail us-- our parents, our siblings, our friends, our spouses. No matter how mindful or knowledgeable they are or we are, we will fail one another. But He will never fail us. His love will never fail us. "For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” Romans 8:15
