NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS WITH ADHD IS ANALOGOUS TO WHAT THE KNOWING GOD BOOK SAYS ABOUT HAVING RELIGIONS LAWS IN YOUR MIND. WHEN YOU CREATE THOSE LAWS IN YOUR MIND, YOU ALSO CREATE ITS OPPOSITIONAL SIDE THAT MAKES YOU BREAK ALL OF THOSE LAWS! WHEN YOU CREATE NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS WITH ADHD, YOU ALSO CREATE BARRIERS/WALLS AND MENTAL DISASSOCIATION THAT DISCONNECT THE MIND FROM BEING ABLE TO SUCCEED AT FULFILLING THE RESOLUTIONS. THAT HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE. IT’S ALSO ANALOGOUS TO WHAT I LEARNED IN BALLET CHOREOGRAPHY: COMMUNICATION FUNCTIONS INDIRECTLY AND NO MATTER EHAT YOU CREATE, ITS IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOUR AUDIENCE TO EVER SEE YOUR INTENTION. THEY’RE VISION/ PERSPECTIVE CREATES WHAT THEY ARE VIEWING AS A STORY RELATED TO THEIR OWN LIFE! Please create a vlog around ketogenic diet effects on ADHD. I had read some research in earlier stages. Mainly it mentions that high carbs diets increase insulin spike thus creating brain fog and other focus realted issues. Meanwhile, with ketogenic diet, the effects of high carbs are down regulated thus keeping people more content on tasks therefore increasing focus. Will wait for your review.

One way I did this was to step one highlight important areas while doing a read through step 2 copying the highlighted areas in a notebook clearly marked for the subject and have it out and visible at all times, step 3 make a cliff notes version of the notes in the notebook but only mark down notable points while also making a mental connection about the subject. I know it sounds like a lot but it got me the only a+ in a class where everyone else made D and Fs. To help you in this process use candy as a goal post with the page open place a piece of candy down and as you read up to it eat the candy as a reward

This is super interesting cause my son who also has ADHD has grown up in a different time than me, and has not felt shame about having ADHD and just accepts it as his baseline, and does what makes sense to him, and I realized while watching this is exactly how he naturally achieves things. He'll work obsessively on a project for a couple weeks, get to a natural stopping point where he loses interest, doesn't guilt or pressure himself to keep going and instead rewards himself by spending a lot of time playing video games or binge a TV show or getting into a new interest, then when he gets tired of that after a few days or a week he'll re-connect with the project and focus on it again for a couple weeks. He wrote and produced an entire album like this. I grew up feeling shame about how my brain works, and trying to fit into the neurotypical framework, and so I accomplish very little lol .

For anyone wondering if the coaching works - I can at least say confidently that it’s made a huge difference for me. The gentle accountability of a supportive coach and community who share the same struggles helps me break down my tasks hour by hour and actually get stuff done. I’m so glad I found it. My boss and coworkers have noticed how far back I’ve come from being burnt out and that has made my life so much better.

I put on a 1lb in 3 weeks. Then I found an online app wont name it incase i come off like a bot, but you have to weigh yourself every day, and you have to tell the app your weaknesses so it sends you messages tailored to your weaknesses.

I'm literally crying while watching this video while writing this comment and while my new fidget toy in my hand. I know a lot of ADHDers dislike how long this video is, but they need to somehow overcome it, like trying to set the video speed to 1.75x or start with your SHORTS first before clicking on an actual video as long as this, because I did, and I know that there are different intensities to our mental condition, but come on man, we gotta help ourselves, this channel is about us, if the video is too long, try to chop it in chunks so we can digest it more. Kudos to you, sir! And Thank you so much because you helped a lot of people. You helped me with things I could start working on to with myself for myself. Sending virtual hugs, sir! 🩵🥹 I'll come back to this comment one day, and I know there's no assurance that I'll achieve all my goals but I'm sure I'll achieve more than what I ought to achieve if I didn't stumble upon your content.

Time blindness always hits me hard in New Years. I always rush towards the end of December and I repeat the same procrastination every year. I am becoming sicker because the years are passing by and I am not achieving my potential, narcissistic mental abuse from family and workplace mental abuse and passive aggression cause me problems at a daily basis, lost contact with all past friends and relatives, my financial goals have not been achieved and I am already on my mid 30s. I wish I had been diagnosed at an early age so that I would never have had problems in high school, college, and now the workplace but I finally realized I was the scapegoat for narcissistic people at home and family, at school, and now work and the doctors. ADHD and dyslexia make matters worse.

Not living to your fullest and having an abusive background is the worst, especially if your long term stressors are still an everyday thing. I've heard brain training techniques work or anything that calms the vagus nerve or things that turn off the fight or flight response. After years of trying to figure out my health problems, I'm finally focusing on my mind. Stress causes a lot of strange things, especially involving nutritional deficiencies.

Ehhh....I was diagnosed at a young age in the 90s. It didn't help me. I was just told, "Here are the tools, pay attention, try this pill (I stopped taking it because of stomach aches), why isn't your homework done?, why do you keep forgetting?, why aren't you putting things in your folder and writing out notes? You should know this by now, you're too slow, read it, the answer's right there, quit being lazy, etc. Yeah, I was diagnosed but nothing helped. Either I was coddled with extra help where the special ed teacher gave me the answers instead of showing me how to find out for myself or berated because I wasn't paying attention. My Dad has ADHD and knew it. Mom was not. She Left my dad when youngest sibling graduated. Both parents were harsh.

This has given me an excellent incite into what I need to do. I wouldn't be able to check in every hour with someone though (maybe just at the end of each day). I have autism and hate being interrupted when I'm engrossed in something. Though I have to set alarms to remind me to take meds, prep meals etc. Those alarms are my worst enemy when they go off and I'm just really getting into something. 🤦🏻♀️

That's interesting. In my study of flow state, I learned that working in sprints of 60 to 90 minutes is best. If I can do this uninterrupted, then I am in the flow, and work and focus become effortless, but I need to rest at the end of the session. But if the phone rings or I'm interrupted in any way, it is over. I can get more done in four hours than I usually get done in 10. I'm drawn to work that allows me to get into flow because it is the only time my mind is quiet. I mean my mind goes a mile a minute every minute of the day and night, even while I'm sleeping, except when I am in flow.

Your mind does not work like neurotypical minds. You can't work slowly and steadily towards your goals but need to work in sprints. You must take a break and put your goals in a locked box, keeping the key in your pocket. When you come back after a week of rest, it will seem fresh and new. Work for a weeklong sprint, and then step back and plan the direction you want to go in the next sprint. Don't set a large, year long goal but break it down.

You can't expect everyone else around you to make Changes to deal with YOUR ADHD, thats the point of most of these videos. If it's to hard for you to take notes or even just to make Screenshots during the Video, thats a YOU-Problem. Totally don't want to be rude, but stop expecting others to make YOUR life easier If you can't even invest the bare minimum to actually change. Life will BE so much easier If you understand that you are not a victim of ADHD, it's Just something you have that you have to be aware of and learn to live with.

Also the reason we are so motivated in the beginning and the end, but not so much in between, is the idea of challenge, and overcoming the challenge. I’ve powered through hard days by challenging myself to complete the remainder of a project that would take months - today. I know I probably won’t be able to do it, but what if? And then, when I’m done, that sudden burst of progress goes beyond what I was scheduled to do, on a day when I almost did nothing at all.

I am always glad for your input, Nik! But may I give some feedback on the presentation? I find the overly dramatic music, especially in the first 5 minutes or so, extremely distracting and unnecessary. To me the video feels much less professional that way and more like some cheap scammer „clickbait“. 😅😫 I believe you really don‘t need the over-dramatization, your message is as important and meaningful as it is! 💪🏽✨

@meder0718 күн бұрын
Also agree - for those of us that watch and try to learn from others like How to ADHD, Dr. K, Dr. Russell Barkley, ADHD Chatter, etc. any music is highly distracting and comes off as an infomercial, dramatic and ultimately a turn-off. I always wondered what was different about this channel and you nailed it. Nik, you've got great content and a nice experiential take on things, have gotten many great revelations. We are here to learn and manage. The dramatic music and presentation style may drive volume (does it?) but is regressive for me and anti-dopimatic (I just made that up). It ultimately takes more work to focus on your message because of the presentation style. Do you have ADHD? Would this style work for you?

I Keep constantly hearing it, people stopping their meds because carnivore was finally their solution, all anecdotal, but still. How many anecdotal accounts of peoples experiences do we need before we get a full large scale randomized human trial? Anyways im planning to go on a strict carnivore diet and take a multivitamin to cover my deficiencies and test this out.

Also, do not worship material progress. Im gonna do a bit of propaganda, my reward is with my Lord i seek no reward from anyone else. If you want, read the Qur'an, it has many examples on how people became fullfilled and overcame challanges, even when depressed or while having major roadblocks or speech problems (like Moses) And it's ADHD friendly, unlike the Bible tbh... Also it corrected some mistakes from historians, and who is best to correct human mistakes than the one who created our hands? Take my propaganda or not, but as someone with adhd and a believer, it would be a crime not to recommend this book. Especially with many people needing the Reminder, and the best of goals. The best of goals is the garden, no adhd there, God willing. Peace

A video for ADHD: super long, infinite introduction, says in 200 words what could be said in 10, repeats things continuously. The infos are good, but watching it was a STRUGGLE. I had to read the transcription, jumping over from time to time, and remembering less. Congrats for the info and video quality anyway. Please just consider that we’re ADHD 😅😅
