It is said that LESS IS MORE..apt for this story..which is minimalistic with few dialogues.. but still shows the stark reality of our times..where even children who ought to be free spirited ,happy,carefree are worried to fit into the societal standards of being desirable and beautiful.There is an ARI in all of us who is self conscious.. struggling with the inferiority complex.. juggling with the peer pressure..in the story even the girl is aware of ARI'S crush for her but she remains quiet..Ari towards the end gets encouraged by the teacher and gathers courage to stand in front of several pairs of gazing eyeballs..that itself was an achievement..and as far as eating up the paper is concerned I think he eats up his complexes and fears..and faced the world boldly and was also rewarded and applauded by everyone. ALWAYS AIM HIGHER THAN BEAUTIFUL PRETTY AND THIN.

Too many people not understanding this one. Here's my take on both the message and the ending: the reason that the kids clapped was because they thought he was trying to be funny, and that he tried to disregard the teacher. The resolution was that Ari realized that although his weight/appearance was an issue, there was much more about himself that he needed to improve as well. He realized he had to not only fix what he is but also WHO he is. What cause brought him to this realization was the fact that the kids were laughing because they thought he was trying to be funny. It enlightened him to the fact that he can potentially do much more than his appearance shows. It shows him that even if he does lose the extra weight, he still has to BE someone.

I hate the way I look and my appearance, I have a crush on this boy in my class but I know he won't like me..no one really does.. ;/ at school I went up to this girl called Olivia and said hi, but as soon as I came up to her she look and my shoes and looked at my and then looked at my stomach, as fast as I could I sucked my stomach in so no one would know how I really look, that was in year 5.. I'm in year 6 now and I still feel the same way and do the same things... I think I have to be perfect to have friends and people used me for popularity. So I have a condition called internt hips, that's when my feet go inwards and I hated that. So I had two operations on both of my hips to make them straight, I loved the way my legs were and was smiley the whole time in the hospital. I stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks and then went back to school. As soon as I walked into that horrible school I wanted to fall down on my knees and cry. I hate it at my school and no one likes me for the way I am, I always think to myself that I'm ugly and attention seeking but I don't mean to be the attention seeking person, it's just really hard for me there. My mum has supported me through this and I feel a little bit better after expressing myself to my mum and telling her about everything. Now I am more confidant and have 1 friend at school, she's funny like me kind, generous and just special. The reason why she's special to me, is because she likes me for who I am and is nice to me, but all the other girls betrayed me. I feel better at my school now tags I have friends. But this video was really upsetting 😢❤️
