fyi half of this is AI and it is Kristin's version, just with AI of Ari's voice. The beginning up until about 1 min is actually Ari, the rest is AI and not what it actually will sound like.

@@lukas309984417 Music teacher here-the beginning way she says “popular” for the second time at 0:03 definitely sounds like it was still AI/pitch corrected. If you listen to when she changes those three notes, it sounds computerized instead of a clear change in register. Ariana is definitely technically proficient enough to interpret Kristen’s glottal-stop register change with her own voice without it sounding like that, if thats the interpretation she chooses. If you listen closely you can also hear the instruments being affected as well, sounding like a tiny “blip”.

Just remember in the old days they would dub over everybody even good singers with Marni Nixon pretty much if you can think of a female and a musical her voice was dubbed over by Marni Nixon and I'm not exaggerating everything from The sound of music, West side story, The King and I, Mary Poppins, South Pacific, Oklahoma, My Fair Lady, (and ironically since it's a plot point in the movie) singing in the rain Unfortunately Miss Nixon did not get credit in any of them (well she did get an on-screen credit as one of the nuns in sound of music)

I love this version and the fact that Ariana was casted, but I feel like at least in this sample she’s trying to sing the lyrics in perfect pitch with the melody and forgetting a little bit to be more expressive and emotional like the original broadway actress did. In this song Glenda is supposed to be funny, full of herself, annoying and loud, when Ariana’s version is giving me more like gentle disney princess vibes. I still love her as Glenda though ❤❤

The way I see the Wizard of Oz, it is interesting in the sense of a warning. “Friends might be enemies, and not every enemy is actually bad” It informed my own experience making movies. But all I’ve seen is the original wizard of oz from the 1930s. It could as easily serve as a cautionary tale to my own experience making movies or working in Hollywood as a whole “Some things are not what they seem, be cautious” Overall, I believe it to be useless to make modern adaptations of things like “Oz” or “Wicked” The original material is already good. Making it more modern so stupid people can understand it is pointless in my opinion.
