The best quality sleep is before midnight. As a general rule, the National Sleep Foundation recommend falling asleep somewhere between 8 p.m. and midnight. They also recommend 7-9 hours of sleep per night. Power naps are welcome too. Social media detox 1 hour before going to bed is also important to relax. Music for relaxation, aromatherapy and relaxing baths are also very helpful. And as we are product of habit, yes, it's important to have a sound relaxation routine. Because well-being is paramount to success. You cannot perform at 100% if you’re functioning at 10%!

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I was one of those who wore 'sleep deprivation' as a badge. But I have learned how to honor my body. Being patient, gentle, but still committed to my goals without jeopardizing my health.

Thank you so much for posting this. For the longest time I was sleep deprived and couldn't understand why I felt so down. I had 2 weeks of great sleep and everything...everything improved. Then back to 3 days of poor sleep and it finally clicked "Oh yeah! I remember that feeling!" Never again. Cheers!

Hi lewis, I am following you since like 6 months since I discover your postcast by casualty and you are doing and amazing job! Actually is that amazing the job that you are doing that since then you have been a trigger to my life and I have quitted my "comfort" engineer job in Sweden to start my own projects. I will start a postcast and youtube videos to explain to the people how I took this decision and how I progress to show them that anyone can do it if they have enough power of will. Particularly in this episode I feel really identified. Normally when I have a lack of sleep a lot of things happen to my mind, but the worst one is that I starting to lose my vision... the vision of my dream and of my goals... and thousands of doubts starting to appear in my mind and nothing looks great anymore and nothing looks achievable. When i am starting feeling like that it is when i realize that is time to go to sleep and wake up next day with full of energy and fresh mind. Again, Thanks for your incredible job! I really appreciate it. Best Regards! Take Care!

Just listened to this while driving drowsy :-\ I sleep about 7 hours but I'm mentally exhausted that I never feel refreshed. It is something I need to figure out though...

I can't help thinking that all the vitamin and mineral supplements we gulp down may be causing various cancers. The fat soluble vitamins lurk in the body for long periods of time. Perhaps we should consider eating whole foods in moderation and ripe, not prematurely picked, fruit for optimum health. If we need more vitamin C, for example, our appetites would encourage us to eat more oranges etc. Most of us don't give our appetites a chance to guide us in the right direction; we manically try to second-guess what is healthy for us and then force-feed ourselves in the form of baby-food type smoothies and supplements etc.
Lewis get her back, I fell asleep through that. Only joking, as always great guest, great advice and great hosting. Sleep well all. 😎

I seriously doubt that men created the sleep deprivation culture. Remember the Super Woman self-help books?

The best wat to sleep is to everyday mentally and physically exhaust yourself. I live in the suberbs there is no hope for me, I'm deffinatly due for a change of scenery, to have more of a challenge to my life. But Arianna is a bore the way to sleep is deffinatly not lisitning to some yip yap jammer and drone on about herself.
