you could also sell them locally at some kind of market/fair/convention where artists can sell stuff. than you can sell both prints and paints and you don't have to go through all the packaging and stuff for international shipping.

Arleesha, you have inspired me to try and ultimately fall in love with paint making. I have very bad anxiety and can only handle a part time job at the moment, but making my own paint and seeing the progress in doing so has given me hope for the future. This is something I can do at home, listening to audiobooks or podcast while I mull, without any feelings of anxiety whatsoever, and if I get efficient enough it could also bring me some extra income. But even if I don't sell it, just making the paint has given my worried soul some well needed peace. Really, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Much love.

If you never sell your paints and just maybe give them away to friends or family that's totally fine. It's important as an artist to have things you do just for fun! I'm not a professional artist but I'm planning on someday selling my art, but I always make sure to not always be in the mindset of " I need to improve so I can sell things" I'll make silly characters and draw them in my sketchbook cause sometimes you need to have something you do just for yourself. (Also is it just me or does the man in the painting look kinda like young David Bowie)

That cycle of growing observation skills and growing application skills you're talking about reminded me of something my film professors talk about a lot: that as we learn more about our art form and our understanding of it expands, our taste in that form can sometimes outpace our ability to achieve results. So we want to see more sophisticated art than we are able to produce. And that can feel really discouraging when we're in that phase, but that disappointment in our own work can drive us to improve our skills, so we can achieve the next 'level' of production. I'm in the discouraging phase right now, too, but knowing that other artists - and, indeed, most other artists - have gone through it, too, means I'm able to keep going. For me, the best thing I could be asking about my work is, "What can I learn from this to apply to the next try?"

I heard someone describe some form of media as a ‘resting place’ recently, and that is definitely what your channel is for me. I’ve had a really frustrating year art wise, and have had to relent to committing most of my time to a retail job that has nothing to do with the art career I want so I can have any sort of livable income. Now when I do sit down and draw it’s kind of just studies, and even when I do those I don’t feel great about them. Thanks for reminding me that this art cycle where you’re kind of dejected and disappointed in the art your making is natural, because it’s your taste developing- and that soon enough I’ll be at the top of that arc again, and be satisfied with what I’m making, because I’ll have improved. Crazy important thing to remember when you’re trying to make consistent art, and I needed the reminder. Sending the best vibes your way! Thanks as always for the time and effort you put in to these videos, loved the longer one

For any (aspiring) artist ever feeling challenged ♥️♥️♥️ "...I was feeling stuck with art and kinda feeling I didnt know even how to make anything, which I know is silly cuz I have been doing this for a while, but i just felt my brain was sort of starting to see the mistakes better and i didnt know how to improve and how to make art that would satisfy my increased observational skills, which is kind of how art works. Its a fluctuation at being better of observing and then being better at actually applying that observation to painting. So its constant cycle, a constant process and this piece was a reminder to me that the growth will keep happening." :)🙏 Arleebean

The point you made about observational skills really hit it for me. I've been struggling with my painting alot lately and maybe there lies something in that. As you improve you also become better at spotting flaws. It's just incredibly frustrating and soul crushing when you can't seem to get it to work creatively. Because when you're an artist it's such a big part of you. And when that doesn't feel right nothing does. Anyways, great point! ❤

You're videos really have a gentle feel to them. Sometimes I take videos to document my progress or to find out what the hell is my process. Im constant ly changing that pretty much change is my process.. so I'm thinking that when you describe' not being happy with your work' it reminds me of how I felt the other day where I was painting and I was not experiencing change- I could of thought of it as gaining some consistency, but the feel was that I was off.. I'm totally new to art, I can barely use the word art and the things I do in the same sentence. (I end up forming really awkward sentences like that). I started a month into the quarantines.. but I have been very much into the growth mindset in other areas of life and so art has been my latest journey and its been a real great testing ground. I pretty much go about looking to find in the experiences where and when those principles ive cultivated apply in, Artworld. I've come to learn Art is not just some luxury you get to when you've fulfilled other areas in life. I found out right away that art is just as important as learning how to think, it is essential to being human and is needed for development. I can't help but understand this better watching your process -- how you do videos and speak to the audience. I said it had a gentle feel.. at first because it s as in contrast to how my videos turn out- so all over the place and probably hard to follow. Im thinking now its that attention to process that you are displaying. And I'll just add one other point that is more concrete because I don't want to add to the bias that art is all airy fairy woo woo.. Perception. We tend to think we just see and we see things perfectly as is. We start with 20-20 vision and that slowly deteriotes as we age... This view is an error in thinking.. it lacks in perception, like depth. I have come to learn so many aspects of vision that ive really had to improve. I find that the 800+megapixel cameras still can't capture what our eyes can capture. I am barely getting the values and the temperatures in each color. Im just understanding the difference between Prussian blue and ultramarine blue. I have no clue what makes colors transparent and what's makes it opaque-- and perhaps you've given me a clue with the whole hand made paints vs industrial. And so when you struggled to describe your growing observation abilities outpacing your skills to apply it - i think its only because we as whole don't really have the terms or common language to describe those other dimensions in perception. You're describing things most people don't have a reference point to attach to it- and only because ive started developing my skills in Artworld, I feel now I can begin to understand or at least grasp those ideas. Keep up the awesome work. And please continue to show the unique experiences you find yourself drawn to.

Instant like from the protection protocols. Ever since I saw a video of yours where you made your favorite red color it had me fascinated with watercolor making. This video sorta pushed me forward to wanting to do it even more. The fact that you told more about the texture of the watercolor has me _fascinated_ And the progress of watercolor making looks and sounds relaxing. Repeated motions with slight change of phase by collecting it to the center and swatching. It sounds like a nice relaxing (slightly dangerous fumed) safe heaven away from all of the chaos of life.

I love this piece! I totally get what you mean about how much effort it is to sell your paints and I'm glad you're deciding to hold onto them until you're ready. It makes them that much cooler and I'm so excited to get into paint making myself now!

Really beautiful artwork! I love the way you use colors and leave part of the pencil sketch visible.

He looks like Peter Murphy of Bauhaus. Pink Ultramarine is a beautiful colour. I only have blue and violet ultramarines in my White Nights collection. They are beautiful too. Powdered pigments are sold in Russia too, pink ultramarine included. There are people who make home-made watercolours here, but for me it would be too big of an adventure. I aggree with the commenters here. Maybe there is some local fair or artists' market where you can sell the surplus of the paints.
